Only once in a century are we graced with such wonderful talent as that of ABBA. The syncopation is wonderful, the blend of voices stirring, and all the songs are so very good.
I admire this band's music to no end, but I also admire their integrity. They turned down $1,000,000,000 (that's BILLION) to reform and tour Europe and turned it down because they felt that they wouldn't be able to deliver the same ABBA their fans remembered. THAT is class...
ABBA is the perfect blend of musical and vocal talent from the best, most innovative, and original group of any era. No drugs, no scandals, nothing but pure entertainment and a following that continues 25 years after they quit recording. What does that say about them? It says they are an international treasure!
@SusanBreeLynetteGaby That's from ABBA: The Movie. The gentleman is a fictiional Australian journalist who pursues the band members for an interview. That still picture is from the "What's The Name of the Game?" fantasy sequence in the movie.
This tune has some of the most innovative harmony and mixing of same of all time. Listen at 0:45. Turn off the verb, hit the flanger (yes the flanger, this was the 70s) and let the girls harmonize! Minor 9th harmony. Cool stuff!
this IS NOT the complete version; there is a last verse about Humpty Dumpty; check your copy write lyrics. There is an audio version of it on youtube. But; the pics are great..but how can you go wrong with Annie and Agnatha?
the full version has an extra verse which is on the video. ABBA released thier 1st batch of video's on VHS in 1982 called just "ABBA" the extra verse is not on "MORE ABBA GOLD" video's. 1982 cassette contains "take a chance on me,dancing queen, one man one woman, thank you for the music,voulez-vous,gimme gimme gimme, summernight city, money money money, does your mother know, knowing me knowing you,the winner takes it all and on and on and on(extra verse).
In 1983 ABBA released thier second batch of video's on VHS called "ABBA AGAIN" containing "super trouper, happy new year, head over heals, when all is said and done(a very little different ending which is not on more abba gold vdieo's),under attach, the day before you came". Solo tracks from Agnetha and Frida "the heat is on and i know there's something going on". On these video's the base and drums are very strong, very 80's.
no the reason i called it the full version was because that i made a short video of this and it wasn't finished yet. then the next few days i completeled it and uploaded it.
ABBA will likely pass the Beatles and Elvis on record sales in the near future. ABBA's music is timeless, and holds up better than the Beatles's stuff. Elvis is immortal, and his music holds up well, too. But there is one and only one ABBA. Agnetha, Frida, Benny, and Bjorn, please re-form!!!!
I can tell you right now, since they are all still alive (I think) if the four of them can still rock these songs, there is no telling what people would do to see them again live in concert. Their legendary status, respect and popularity has only grown and grown. Can you imagine a high-tech, big screen, tricked-out rockin' ABBA reunion stadium tour? Hoooo-ly
Oh my gosh!! I'd it if ABBA got back together!! (They are all still alive by the way!)
If they got back together, I would go to the concert for sure, no matter where it was. It would be my first ABBA concert!!! (I wasn't alive when ABBA were around.)
They are still alive. And I know that there are millions of people out there that would do anything to get them to re-form. But I doubt they ever will. They should and we all want them to, but I don't think they will. Still - we can dream...:D
Girls aloud are good also, but untill they sell over 400 million records like ABBA...I feel the jury is out! Not even a good comparison clivegrah! (I had never even heard of Girls Aloud till your comment, so I looked them up, and played some of their tunes)
Thanks for putting the full version of this brilliant song on YouTube! It's amazing that at 14 you are a big fan of Abba, I was 14 when Abba won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974! YouTube shows footage of the scoring of that contest, which was held in Brighton.
Is that when the scoring wasn't fixed through politics? Look at the statistics now: countries once part of Russia vote for Russia through politics. Scandinavians vote for the Scandinavians. Parts of Spain vote for Spain... Why does nobody ever vote for us?
And no, I'm not a politician... I'm studying science... I want to be a dentist...
You're absolutely right, politically biased voting started creeping in about the early nineties. Before then, songs were voted on regarding their appreciation rather than country of origin. Currently, I think that the United Kingdom is viewed as having no friends in Europe!
You're probably right, there. I'm 16 myself, and an ABBA fan, amongst other things, namely Paul Merton, as you've most probably guessed. Laugh if you wish, I am.
To be honest, I don't think Great Britain has many friends in the world... Nothing to do with our Empire, I suppose? Why am I even talking like this? I'm not a historian, I'm a scientist!

Like a Humpty Dumpty, 'fraid of falling off the wall

Gotta keep on rockin baby till the night is gone" ?
If you don't know, well keep on searching Rob till the night is gone !.

Beautiful slideshow for one of the most pure rockin' songs ever produced.
What a national treasure for Sweden.
And no, they will not perform together ever again.

What a pity, that they won't perform together anymore, but what a great luck for me, that I've seen them live twice.

ABBA is the greatest pop/rock band in history. Their catalog of songs is the greatest of the last 100 years. ABBA has no competition.

I so agree with You. ABBA was, is and will be the greatest band. Their music is timeless.

ABBA reunion: summer 2009, to coincide with the opening of the ABBA museum in Stockholm.
Frida and Agnetha amazingly able to fit into the miniskirts.
They will perform a new song.
