Molly left WWE after she had a health scare in 2005, and wanted to "find her place in the world". Vince told her she could come back any time, but I don't see her ever doing anything more than guest appearances.
My theory on why she became a heel is that they needed women to go against Trish and Lita. She was never cut out to be a good heel, as Molly is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet in real life. She deserved better than what she got her last year in WWE.

I hate watching most of her WWE matches because the fans always booed her as a heel. I don't see why she couldn't have been face and Trish as heel.
