I am torn. This is an EXCELLENT rendition of a beautiful piece, but having grown up U.S. Navy I do believe in Admiral Halsey's words that after the war was over the only place the japanese language would be spoken would be in hell. We did show them and the world who the biggest kid on the block is with Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but still, at least those people (who were LIVING in Military Industry areas) knew they were at war. The stain of Pearl will haunt them forever.
Hi Zebracorn13, I wonder myself why you think it's 'terrible'.... When I say what I think, I say why I think like that, so it means to me you have no idea why it sounds that 'terrible'..... I think the temp is perfect, and they sound so much better than many other orchestras.... more respect for the work of others.
One sort of music isn't better then the other. People have diffrent taste in what they like and don't like. I consider my self lucky that I happen to like most sorts of music. It just depends in what kind of emotional state you are.
Listening to good music is never a crime im 13 and i listen to many of the classical composers. I, in contrary to other teens, despise the obsolete musical exposure that is considered "da shit". Along with this i listen to many of the big bands and jazz artists that have changed my life through music... lol. Not to mention great bands such as the great Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. So i applaud yo and extend many kudos for your well sided opinion on music.
Gabby what you said just renewed my faith in our nations youth and no it doesnt make you wierd - most young people arent exposed to this music and therefore never know what theyre missing - Ive been listening to classical , along with everything ranging from Korn to Miles Davis , as long as I can remember - Once classical infects you though you will listen to it forever because unlike most other forms of music it constantly engages and challenges your ear - Its an amazing form of music -
xtop23 may I point out with all due respect that Gabby is actually from the Philippines, which is not the same country as the US. As such, your faith in the American youth might still remain in doubt.
Back on the topic, this is a work of the greatest genius of the music, brilliantly delivered by the highly talented group of musicians. To me, this is one of the best performances of the Molto Allegro I've ever heard.
xtop, although Gabby may be from the philippines, don't worry, there are still american youth who enjoy classical music. I can think of four friends who listen to classical music (and then myself, of course). it's not a lot, and certainly not enough in my opinion, but classical music is still alive in our generation of americans!
sometimes i would just prefer to listen to these violins than headbang with sounds like Avenged Sevenfold... it's very relaxing especially when u've got lots of happiness in you...
I think he's referring to the fact that they're using samari swords on their violins. It could also be that jezmuff is referring to the bold, aggressive body language of the conductor who, like the Japanese language, is abrupt and twitchy. Other than this, I haven't a clue myself.
Bravo! Finally found a version played at the proper tempo. Beautiful, this piece gets me as high as Pink Floyd does. Drugs are never necessary having music like this.

Pretty good.
I would've enjoyed a bit slower of a tempo. It's hard to appreciate everything at that speed.
friedgreenmushrooms 4 years ago
It's the exact tempo of the original composition, they way Mozart intended it to be played.
