I thought the in between level sections were the most engaging parts of the game. The rookie being silent and mysterious made it easier to put yourself in his shoes, which is what Bungie intended. Also, the audio logs are definitely worth finding. Trust me.

I completely agree. If you even have 1/4 of the maps from the second dist it's not worth the 40p or $60 (sorry if I don't know the simble for Brittish money, I'm Canadian). However I didn't even bother with Halo 3 because I beet it while borrowing it from a friend for a couple of days. So the second disk was a good bonus for me (simply because I don't like repeating compagns over and over).

@GoodGame03 The invite and beta will probably be on the disk, I'd wager that the day it starts you just put your disk in after an update is released for the game and play it, or if it's just an invite it'll trigger a download.

i agree on most the things u say and i only played the halo 3 campaighn and then my disc broke so this game was perfect for me. The campaighn was good when u had the flashbacks but when u played as the rookie it was kinda boring. But me and my friends play firefight all the time. the only thing i dont agree with u about is the graphics i gotta say i thought this was the best looking halo game by far the skyscrappers looked sick

LeonSkennedy, good review, but still hesitating to buy halo odst. I got halo 3 and only payed for legendary map pack. I enjoyed halo 3's campaign , but in the end i was dissapointed in the story and the pacing, i found it childish. I'm still a big fan of Halo ce as it still great and environments are far more atmospherical imo. Firefight seems cool but none of my friends play halo, so without the matchmaking it could turn out to be boring. I can get halo odst for 45-50€. Do you recommend it?

Well whenever I play the Halo 3 multiplayer I only use the ODST disk now, since it has all of the bonus maps on, whereas my Halo 3 disk doesn't.

Nah, it's basically the original Halo 3 game and is regocnised by the 360 as such, it just doesn't have the original game's campaign is all.

to me though the plot in odst was way better than halo 3... halo 3 you werent just that much of a character i mean they just tell you to go somewhere and shoot but in halo 3 odst it kinda made you feel more as the character even though the rookie never talked

I was hoping for matchmsaking for firefight, longer camapign, and elite, if u all look back to the halo 2 e3 demo, if the game looked anything near like that which ODST wasnt even near it would have been great!, but to truely like this game, use a HDTV, for component or HDMI, better then reg t.v, and use good quaility headphones or ur srrounrd sound speakers, in canada its 70 punds plus tax, which is not worth my money, gogo mondern warefare 2!

I think the game is awesome just the way it is, but it is a real let down about no matchmaking. I dont really care if these graphics were from the Super Mario days =). but it would be wierd to see halo like that.

It is an awesome game, but considering how much money Bungie have and how much Microsoft have, and with all the extra money these games make in sales, there's really no excuse for the somewhat out of date graphics.

They had the time, money and workforce to improve them, I'm not a graphics whore and Halo 3 was acceptable in 2007, but the equalivant in 2009...not so much.

But hopefully they'll utilise these in Halo Reach.

I agree with you that this game is well worth the money. I got it for 35 quid and I really enjoy playing Firefight. I also agree that the campaign would be much better longer but theres nowt we can rally do about that. To be honest it's one of the best games I've ever played

Hey, In order to Understand and enjoy the story of ODST, Would you have to have played Halo 3? Even though its a prequel? Or would it be okay to just jump straight in to ODST, Although I would plan on getting the original Halo 3 first so that I get to see what its like without all the extra maps and stuff, Plus the campaign is supposed to be longer and more In depth, But oh well :P

Thanks, it made for a better watch than mostly pictures with just a few clips as with my previous reviews. There were still quite a view pictures, but not nearly as many as before.

Do you own the downloadable Halo 3 maps already? (save for the 3 ODST exclusive ones obviously) If you don't then it's a steal as you get a short but sweet campaign, a kickass new firefight multiplayer mode as well as every Halo 3 map to date.

If you do then wait for it to drop in price.
