  • wow... at the bjcc i met glinda boq chistery and madam morrible... it was the best day of my life, no joke

  • Saw wicked yesterday with the australian cast but still very cool. SUPER WICKED! :P

  • i just saw this in the bjcc areana in birmingham, and it was amazing

  • The book is so creepy with a lot of shall we say "adult themes". Very surprising they decided to make a musical of it, though it has been changed a lot.

  • hofully i'm going to see this on West End in 3 weeks

  • ahhhhh JULIE ANDREWS AND KRISTIN CHENOWETH...my life is complete <3

  • I don't think you had to add "the one from mary poppins and sound of music"... pretty sure everyone knows who Julie Andrews is

  • @miniwidge really depends on what country you come from ^^; not many people know her where i live.

  • @Lilithly didn't mean to be elitist... I really did think she was pretty much known internationally

  • @miniwidge well we do know her face xD but since mary poppins and the sound of music aren´t very popular here we don´t know her name. people would probably be like "wahh- isn´t that that grandma from princess diaries?" when they saw her ;)

  • I love Wicked I have seen it both in Sydney and London but I don't any of the Elphie's come close to the amazing voice of the Aussie Elphie

  • i did hear idina sing flat in that rehersal what?! she's amazing!!

  • I can't believe I've never seen this before!! Something I haven't seen? About Wicked? I'd though that would never happen again!! Idina and Kristin <3

  • love idina and kristen! BEST ELPHIE AND GLINDA!

  • how could anyone NOT love wicked?! between the music, the acting, the dancing... it's literally the perfect show!

  • I think they've definitely made back the money it cost to make the show. HOORAY! Best Musical i've ever seen.

  • my god, idina gives me chills. (:

  • i wish they had the hat they use for broadway in London wonder why they cut it

  • @operastar1994 It's not on Broadway anymore either when I went to see it they had a green sillhouette of Elphaba instead.

  • 'i think its bigger than us now'

haha never in a bazillion years xD cheno and menzel ftw!!!!!!!!

  • AAHH!! Julie Andrews I love you!! Ah, so glad she's the narrator!! Thank you thank you for uploading this!!!!

  • half the time, elphaba looks like idina, and half the time she looks like someone else..

  • i love idina at 2:16-:21

  • why is susan stroman in this cut of wicked? she had nothing to do with the production. she was involved with The Producers.

  • I just get chills when I hear her sing... Wow...

  • aww, it's so sweet that Jesse L Martin came to opening night for Idina :) so sweet

    I LUV WICKED!!!

  • stephens right the first notes of the show are verry powerfull, i love watching the rehursals without the costumes or the seenery*

  • Weren't those two women in glee?

  • @NJbug3 yes

  • COOL ! What other shows are on this dvd?

  • Wicked is one of my favorite musicals of all time! I can listen to the songs over and over again, and I never get tired of it.

  • This one is such a better quality upload than the other version of it! I'm glad I found it!

  • ARRRRRGH :)

  • I read the book....Didnt like it.....I watched the play...I FUCKING LOVED IT!!!!

    xDD

  • what?

  • what

  • At the 0.45 the guy in the middle looks like The Boss

  • Start of the run- Idina's voice had time to recoop after Rent. As time passed, her voice got... worse. In her start in London, though, she sounded amazing.

  • Elphaha is meant to be black

  • Wicked is possibly up there with the best musicals of all time!!

  • AMAZING!!!

  • Idina's voice sounds so much... purer in this defying gravity. If you listen to this- then to the performance at the Tony's (for example), it just shows you how much the role can effect your voice! I have the utmost respect for all Elphaba's.

  • I think that the musical was alot better than the book. I couldnt even dinish reading the book. But thats just my opinion as a theater obsessor

  • yes me too! the book was much too political, and very dark. i stopped after fiyero was killed...

  • @ILUVlupin

Oh, you should keep reading! It does get better and you learn a lot more.

  • @PatluvsKerryEllis

She is flying without a broom because for some reason that Happened in a scene before it opened on Broadway, That is a clip from the pre-broadway try-out, before they changed the script.

  • I love oz....alot! I havent seen the musical yet but iv read the book.

  • the narrator/host sounds like julie andrews (the one from mary poppins and sound of music)

  • Is is...she narrated the whole thing!

  • @wickedthemusical08 Yes it's Julie Andrews

  • lol thats cause it is :P

  • @lilpie1807 It IS julie andrews :D I adore herr

  • The musical was great, but the book was almost totally different. I believe the book was better but that's kind of a given. My advice is to watch the musical first then read the book. One will not spoil the other.

  • i had to do that i do agree with you when you say the musical is great tho

  • i don´t really like the book, it´s alittle bit boring in some parts, but i love the musical so much! The story of the musical is much better!

  • I saw Wicked in London.

    ABSULTLY INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE Wicked so much!! :)

  • same! its so amazing

  • Elphaba wasn't recast between San Francisco and Broadway. As far as I know, the parts were: The Wizard (Robert Morse to Joel Grey), Boq (Kirk McDonald to Christopher Fitzgerald), Dr. Dillamond (John Horton to William Youmans), and the ensemble/Elphaba understudy track (Stephanie J. Block to Kristy Cates).

  • my mum lived above julie Andrews! love wicked!!!

  • I love you, Julie Andrews!! And I love Wicked, so this is just like heaven to me. Thanks for posting!!

  • Your are so welcome!!!

  • Is it narrated by Julie Andrews?

  • Yes, she narrated the whole documentary!

  • At 2:48 Idina is flying....without a broom. Why....? lol

  • I don't know! That was weird! It's kinda cool!!

  • What was the first that was backed by US?

  • Huh? I don't get it?

  • Julie Andrews said that this is the second project that was backed by Universal 0:25 - 0:32.

  • Oh!! I knew this now I got it! haha IDK! i did know but I forgot but Billy Elliot also is backed by US!

  • It might have been Pippin...again I completely forgot! Sorry

  • According to IBDB it was The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (which opened in 1978).

  • OH! Is that where Dolly Parton sang "I will Always Love You"?
