a solo well done! :) i'm in a 4a band, out of the 70 students in it, we've got five horns including me. out of the last six years, i've come to realize that while it's great to have a full section...it doesn't sound so great. then again, the other four don't practice, so... :(

and just reading these other comments is wierd...i'm from a 3A school in texas, and we have 16 horn player out of a 110 piece band...=p so when i see a small horn section it's just wierd to me.

wow lots of people here are in the same boat i was in. I used to be an alto sax player(and still am, i play in my school jazz band) and then i switched to french horn beacuse it sounded great and beacuase it was a scholarship instrument. up untill high school i was the only horn player in the bands i was in

i love this song and i play the french horn its very difficult.Its hard because u have to remove and put in ur hand in the bell also the mouth piece is so small but its fun.Btw college loves them =)

We have three horns at my school. One who's played for years on end, one who just started at the beginning of the school year, and me, who's played for almost a year now. I'm a noob, especially since it's my first brass instrument, but I think I'm finally really getting it down.

We used to only have one horn at my school, but then my friend Olivia and I decided to switch. It's my first brass instrument (I used to play flute) and it's her first wind instrument, having played upright and electric bass before that. Ever since we switched, a lot of other band friends of ours have shown interest, lol.

i fell you i am the only horn ant my school but i enjoy every moment of it..no double parts or having to worry if the other one has muci of not...and you get alot more opportunities for being the only horn..i mean can you say solo? and keep up the playibng.i am only been playing for a year im 14 and i have just picked up the bagpipes. schools will be want ing you to go to college with them if you keep it up..

very nice..not really in tune..but i can understand...its sooooo hard to keep in tune...defentaly the horns...i remember in high school we had 20 french horns in the marching band...and it took us about an hour just to get in tune....it was soo crazy!!!...but, its so worth the time!

im the first chair in my band and i also hate french horn. i never practice and my old instructor hates me for it. she tried to ship me off to all these band camps and i'm like hell no. and now we quit and im still first chair. i considered throwing the auditions but my mom forced me to play good. i just hope someone beats me this year. i really hate it but if i quit i wont get a scholarship or get into a good college. (but i hate it)

mt teacher loves me. trust me. i am quitting at the end of the school year. i would quit right now and switch to sax but my teacher is in the hospital. and ur right. i just got braces so now i dont have to blow auditions. and ya...i was amazing. :-p

i agree it sounds beautiful and i liked it before i started playing sax. its just that sax is right for me. its so much funner and i think i am way better at it.

Oh, haha. I guess I can't compete with that. I'm in the same situation. I used to play flute, and I switched to horn last year, and I love it. I don't think I'd say that I hate flute, though. But I prefer horn.

yeah, same here. I usedd to play the clarinet before i switched to horn.. and people ask me, why u swith?? u hate clarinet that much?? and i would say- no i just prefer horn, even thoguh clarinet is a great instrument
