  • Your creaking smart

  • Impressive

  • do you already have the mac tut???

  • genius thats all i can say

  • cool vid ! thanx!

  • Good girl! Nice set and playing! i won't try that myself to play along with your drumming!

    Keep on the good work!

  • I am little confused on how to hook the drum up to the PC do I just use my midi cable like I use with my keyboard?

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, that's pretty cool. Just wondering can you play any sort of a drum roll on a single drum? I set up my guitar hero drum on my PC, but if I play too fast it goes quiet, and I was wondering if that was something in the drum set, or if that was in my software. Also, do you think that the lag is in the drum set itself? I got it down to a tolerable level using ASIO, but it's still noticeable.

    Thanks!

PS: Great job for standing up for yourself. Don't care what others think, only what you do.

  • Nice setup with a guitar hero drum set i wondered if the MIDI port on the drum set was real lol thanks

  • Who gives a fuck on what he looks like. He clearly said he has cool stuff to show, i learned something! Not only that but im sure if he were playing in a dark room you wouldn't know what he looked like and you would've just payed attention to the playing/music.

    Great vid btw!

  • HOLY SHIT that is so bomb!!! great job! ur very good at drums and it sounds like a pristine kit very classy! it's bad ass!

  • Will this work for Linux systems?

  • WTF are u a boy or a trasbesti

  • Comment removed

  • you rock! fuck all them haters! 10 times better person than they will ever be! P.S cool set up lol.

  • That atrans got skills

  • Do you have any experience with the RB2/RB3 cymbals? I have an xbox 360 RB3 drumset working wirelessly with no noticeable lag, but can't play any of the cymbals without also triggering the drumpad of the same color. I also can't assign different midi cymbal notes to each cymbal. If you have any advice I'd be really grateful.

  • This is phat shit, man. Be proud of the ungodly amounts of talent it took to figure all of that out. I'm just starting out as a single musician and I needed this so I could create an affordable midi set for Garageband. THANKS!

  • Lol, Love your attitude xD

  • you play real drums

  • Great vid dude xD how would u recommend setting up the pads for someone starting out? cus i dont know much in the way of which drum goes where lol Thanks :-)

  • I have the PS3 versions of these and I'm using a PC. I've got a new PC now, so the lag that I used to get is non existent now. The problem I have is that I can't seem to figure out a way to use both controllers at the same time using the software I have as it picks up both, ergo mapping the same pads is pointless.

  • Hahahaha penis

  • Wow that sound better then the electric kits we have in college, would you say this is a good way to learn drums on the cheap? it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to play an acoustic kit before anyone says how bad it is to learn on electrics..

  • Can you do a Tutorial for a Xbox 360 GH Kit?

  • When I connect the xbox 360 drum set, the xbox light will turn on and almost immediately turn off. After that I check to see if its recognized by the 360 controller driver, junXion, or GamePad Companion and no luck

If someone could me out that'd be awesome!

  • what about WINDOWS ? D: is there something coming?

  • thanks! I just found a set on the sidewalk in the trash after my run and had a hunch I might be able to hack them to use as a midi drum set!

  • @DetentionSlipMedia Ha, same thing just happened here. I made a trip to the recycling dumpsters where they also have a donations container. Sitting right in front was an xbox drum controller. My first thought: I wonder if I can use that as a midi controller?? After watching this, I'm optimistic.

    Thanks Jordan!

  • this is pretty cool. good job.

  • your pretty cool man, haters gonna hate when your got more talent

  • But great video and good work

  • Trans???? WTF hahahahah ok either u pith or catch dude.. How about u say .. I'm gay and that's it .. Sets it and ppl won't ask anymore shit.. But sometimes a girl amd or a "guy" dude u r far from a guy lol.. Just don't confuse the young..

  • @Dimelo23 fag

  • hey friend, its a cool video, i have the drums for ps2 just like yours and working on windows, i cant find information of how to set up my drums as midi controller and make it work with any software,,,, could you give me some advise? what you do its cool,, and by the way your gender doesnt matter, you are a very talented person, allways remember that,,you dont need to explain yourself to the world, just be you and be happy,i wish you lots of succes.

  • great idea connecting both drums. I'm looking to buy a midi cable to start recording some drums with my guitar hero drums, but only with 1 hit-hat and 1 crash I don't think I can do much. I believe that you can obtain good response with a midi cable and a little piece of software.

    but great drumming indeed

  • Im Pretty sure that you can take off the toms from the wii kit and place them where you want on the gh kit so you can put them in a real drum kit configuration...

but ull have to make a custom stand for each one =)

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • are you a transvestite

  • I have a wii guitar hero drum kit and a mac can i do that with these or do i need a pc and a rock band drum set to

  • I may not personally agree with who/what you are. but the truth behind this video, you sure can play the drums.

  • Hey Jordan You officially rock!!! thanks for all the info... xox 80bug

  • ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL?

  • @SADFEETFEAR did you even watch 30 seconds ito the video?

  • is this possible with the ps3 drums? please respond ASP

  • @KingdomHeartsVids18 I'm using Windows XP btw

  • Hey, nice setup. I used to use my roommates rockband drums that weren't velocity sensitive with reason. But like you said the lag made it kind of useless for midi recording. I was thinking of buying the guitar hero drum set for the velocity sensitivity. How easy is it to keep the feel of the drums if you're editing it after you record? I feel like there still isn't much use to it if you have to set there and re-edit the live performance. Do you just shift all the midi back to compensate for lag?

  • What the fuck is wrong with you? Ew.

  • @MrSpinneroony hahahahahahahahaha

    WTF has the world become

  • That is awesome. I was about to sell my rock band kit. May keep it now.

  • that's pretty sweet , you must be really smart

p.s. to hell with anyone that doesn't like you for who you are. rock on

  • Absolute lol at the toilet paper on your computer desk......

  • i know what you are..a human =) and a wise one too you wouldn't have any tips for a young drummer? xD i have started 2 months ago i can get my way around the drums sure but when i use my left hand i just can't use the bassdrum xD help please? xD

  • nice playing!

  • cool now i can drum like real on my guitar hero drums thanks man

  • i love you =) ... ur awesome... haters will be haters. props to u hun =) .. check out my channel pls and thanks

  • You-are a genius.

  • This... is insanely cool. I want to see someone use a Guitar Hero guitar to actually PLAY a guitar now... :D

  • @MadManMarkAu That was done before they even made drum controllers for Rock Band and Guitar Hero. :P There's a band called Guitar Zeros that only uses video game controllers. David Crowder Band also uses a Guitar Hero controller on one of their songs live.

  • "i gotta lot of cool stuff to show you so get over it"

haha, the careless way way you said it made me crack up, in a good way :D

  • I respect you....

  • i didn't think this could be done. its awesome to see an "affordable" drum set that most people already have in the homes! i personally would do some modding to the setup if i was pro such as yourself. would take both sets and put on 1 stand for more comfortable play. that looks a little cramped and uncomfortable

  • Great video, and I love your "get over it" comment. You rock.

  • yur kwl

  • at first I though you were a girl then I was like "oooohhhhhhhh"

  • dude that was really sweet. i just got my guitar hero drumset to work as a midi drumset using addicting drums, fl studio, and ps360mididrummer. one way to get rid of the delay is to use the asio4all audio driver. works like a charm.

  • @joecfcfantastic Fucking troll

  • @joecfcfantastic You're idiot.

  • @danidbass nice grammar

  • haha wow sweet drumming, got to learnt it xD *hope it's not copy righted. *joke*

  • damn first i thought you where a girl .... man get another shirt and cut the hair off ^^

    ps cool video :D

  • @WaldebeatZ & joecfcfantastic-why the hell would you even make a comment like that? regardless of anything its not your fuckn concern, when you queens typed those comments did it make either of you feel better bout being you? or did you just type the comments to help you forget about the skeletons both of you harbor? after you lil girlz get done stalling human evolution, you might wanna come to terms with your love for the taste of dick and step out the closet and stop projecting your own demons

  • @dalushenal OH AND BTW, for windows user's if you raise the frequency of your usb ports to 1k,you'll get no latency what so ever, not sure if its the same with macs or not.

  • @dalushenal wtf are you talkin about lol

  • does ps2 guitar hero 4 drums work?

  • HEy you are cool!!

    A hug from Argentina!! =)

  • you are possibly the coolest trans (as you put it) ever. can you do this with cubase??

  • nice playing, sounds like a pretty good electronic drum kit.

  • so get over it. Nice!

  • Thank You for the tutorials. I still have some question though. Can u make a patch so I can play my Wii Drums without Bluetooth so there won't be any lag ( I got 1 midi in/out cable ).

Also when u record the Midi in logic, every note doesn't stop untill you play another note. So you get midi bars which are way too long.

And I have also a problem with my velocity of each hit. I can never hit notes with High velocity after each other. I hope you can help me out!

    Thx!

  • great demo ! I recently got these working on osculator, and you posted this on my birthday :D

  • cool ....love the DISSclaimer...rock on..dude/dudess..

doesnt sound like theres too much of a lag/latency...!..

    rob.

  • HA!

  • HAHHAHAAHA WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING???? is that a transvestite? Lol hes messed up

  • Very cool nice drumming

  • Are you a guy or a lady?

  • Good stuff, Jordan. Thanks!

  • OH EM GEE THATS BUTTERX FUCKIN HELL A TRANNNYYY

  • Stop Making Fun Of Her.

  • Hey Jordan, just got myself a RockBand kit, hooked it up to my mac and it works wonders! Actually I ordered second kit yesterday, 'cause I want to have a full kit as well! Also it's nice to see how confident you are about your sexuality, people like you are really really brave :)!

  • this is cooll! is there one to connect wii drums to pc?

  • When you turned a round I was like D:. But I'm cool with it! :D

  • Tidy. Pretty cool drumming. It would be even better if you cranked the backing tracks a bit more, be nice to hear what was going on there.

Looks like a cool setup although I thought the drum placement a little odd - I would have thought you would want all your toms in a row and you ride bell a little closer so you didn't have to cross hands. I guess the best way would be to hack the whole thing apart and set it up more like a traditional kit.

    Thanks for sharing. \m/

  • Great vid, and very impressed with your obvious effort and talent at solving the technical issues with what you've accomplished - I can't help wondering why not instead just get a low-mid range midi kit (TD-8 or similar)... with an ASIO card you'd not have lag issues and the quality and feel would be better (like being able to actually hit the bell of a cymbal rather than another pad, and the snare not sounding so 'samplecloned' etc). Also, love the 'get over it' comment - well said.

  • Respect

  • you are sick dude. i just figured this whole thing out yesterday and its awesome. i love technology

  • @thenobs123 welconme to 2010?

  • @imjustdope Nice spelling bro, go back to school.

  • @thenobs123 as a matter of fact i am in school. ''BRO''

  • I don't care that you are trans. That doesn't bother me at all. You're a kickass drummer. Keep it up 5*s

  • wow i thought you were a girl at first....then i heard your voice...

  • Holy Shit Dude! Your Like Tranny Barker! lol That Was Pretty Fucking Insane! Kudos To You!

  • The Mii Freestyle mode does a really good job of faking you out, making it seem "live". But yesterday I played Freestyle and turned off the bass and guitar (so all you could hear was drums), and it became obvious that the game is doing some weird quantizing effect during game play. Same thing with velocity sensitivity - it was landing on the measure lines instead of when I was smacking the drums harder. Pretty disappointing. I guess I need to get real drums now.

  • I tried this with Band Hero Wii drum set with a cable connection from MIDI to USB in Cakewalk, and the lag was so bad I couldn't play - maybe 1/3 of a second! Any ideas there?

  • Yeah it's kind of terrible for live performance, it's better if you record with the volume down and then optimize the MIDI after.

  • my Band Hero drums actually have a midi port, i've yet to hook up. probably should. relevant to your comment, though, windows adds a hefty bit more lag than osx and linux do, if you happen to be using windows. it's apparently a low priority thing in windows, going through a few different drivers.

  • uhm get a program called asio4all it'll help with the lag issues for wired connected kits

  • @icCertainDeath Get a faster computer also get a usb to Midi cable and plug it into your audio interface then use a it like an integrated midi item like steven slate drums, session drummer, ex drums or flstudio or any midi instrument if you use a interface though there is no lag even if you get a cheap little tascam usb one.

  • @icCertainDeath

if lag is your problem, use Asio4all midi plugin to adjust the lag, it works fine

  • heey nice work

i got the band hero drum. do you know if i can play midi on pc to because i dont got a cd for in my pc whit it so can you tel me how it works?? thanks

  • how you make the drumkit work with fl studio? with a midi incable? i dont understand

  • That is totally cool. Get enough and you are the nerdy Neil Peart. This is really cool ,cheap drums for gamers need to force my friend to set up something like this.

  • That is the coolest thing I have ever seen!!

  • Your good at the fake drums thing rating 5 for that. Hell yeah!!!

  • Why does it matter to the people in the world if you look like a guy or a girl it is none of their damn business. They just need to get a life. Damn Quiers!!!

  • That is amazing! I wondered if something like this was possible when I saw the MIDI thing on the GH drums. I think you should try out Addictive Drums. AMAZING plug in. most realistic drum sounds in my opinion, and you get so much control over all the settings, and like even where the mics are placed inside the plug in. that would be cool with your set up.

  • haha i love the whole cow bell deal. but i find the set up intense nicely done

  • I just have to say your a champ buddy. You really have a passion for what you do who you are as a person, and i dont see too many people around who manifest that.

    Thanks for that.

    +The video helped ;)

  • topic: thats great man.

is there a way to use gh drums in gh but without the orange fret? its cuz my my orange fret doesnt work too well

  • it wasnt nessesary to talk about ur identity the gamers here dont care about who u r (maybe)

  • I think you are soooo talented!! omg...how can i set this up using my wii guitar hero drum set??...

    keep this up!!!

  • I want to set up something like this lol...I'm too poor to afford an electric kit to use for midi, and I suck at keyboard drums.

  • very mature.... you lack brain matter

  • Nice set up! Fuck the idiots who are dicks about your identity in online comments. Your disclaimer is awesome.

  • that had to be digitally enhanced, sounded sooo goood man!

  • Nicely done! I'm a Garageband guy myself, but Macs rule!

  • I agree with greeny1200,

    And you rock.

  • Nice work, and thanks so much for sharing. Just picked up a set of PS2 RB drums for $10 on clearance :) Got those working for garage band with midikeys. Not at all shabby for the money. Would be nice to have velo sensitive though. Eventually we'll get the GH kit for our Wii, so its really nice to know we'll be able to get those onto the Mac as well! BTW its cool that you've figured out who you are comfortable with it.

  • sweeet setup dude and respect for being what you want to be. any haters are just a worthless piece of space dont let em kick you down

  • i would to have that setup. i only have ps2 rockband drums and no world tour drums.

is that a 88key yamaha motif back there?

  • I don't care what gender you are. You seem like a nice person.

  • Your disclaimer about being trans was fucking hilarious. Hahaha. You're the shittt.

  • hey whats is at 2:40

    its stopped

    why ??

    ;D 5*

  • you have the same midi controller/keyboard as me..

lol but, do u reckon i can use my GHWT kit through Logic 9, Pro Tools, or maybe even GarageBand??

  • That was awesome! Great set up>

  • lol, i bet that when you return to the "normal drum kit" it feels really weird to play, because the sticks dont bounce off the gh/rb drums very well.....your good, why dont you make your mind up if oyu want to be a boy or a girl?

at least then you wouldnt have to worry about people calling you a boy or a girl, everyone would just know.

I dont mean all of that in a nasty way, i just think it would be a good decision on your part :)

    good video man

  • Nice video, were can i get good quality MIDI files. Because all midi's I have are low quality =(.

    Thanks already ;)

  • nice drumming but your wierd

  • Comment removed

  • ur an awsome drummer bt u look like a freak

  • whatd you do to open the hihat on the second song there?

  • @jordan314 I have the bandhero version of these and it comes with a midi to USB cable. Would this work for me?

    Thanks!

  • Holy crap that is awesome!

  • hey i got this vid reading the blog in osculator, and i set up my GH hero wii drums through osculator, and garageband but im getting a big lag, during breaks, and i was curious if it was just garage band that causes that.... i see you use logic does it make a bigger difference?

  • Unfortunately there is a noticeable lag...I dragged the MIDI back left when I synced it with the video to compensate with the lag. Your best option is to record with the music really loud so the drums don't distract you, and then drag the MIDI an eighth note or so earlier.

  • Sweeet!

  • that 2nd song was fakkin awesome!

  • I think you're cool :)

  • does this only work on mac?

  • I would do the opposite like using a drum trigger kit like (Roland TR 5)to work rockband and guitar hero because the set is desighed to play out and are work hourses. The rockband and guitar hero drum sets continually break and are made poorly.I see your application is the reverse of what I would do and it's worked for you.Great job.

  • Awesome video.

I liked your disclaimer too, stick up for yourself.

  • Thanks sick!!!!!

  • I'd much rather go with a Roland/Yamaha kit, but this is pretty sweet.

  • The switch @ 2:38 was fukken magic!

  • Hey awesome set-up man - nice job :) This looks like it's actually useful.

  • dude that was badass

  • Great stuff! I want to use my GH Wii drums on PC.

  • aweome vid i shouldt judge but that is funny

  • Man i wish people weren't so horribly judgmental that we even need disclaimers. I agree "get over it." theres really nothing better to say. You can't ignore pure skill and talent when you see it, regardless of a persons lifestyle.

  • Lol it's awesome watching the logic screen recording all the MIDI notes

  • thats pretty sick

  • "Got alot of cool stuff to show you so get over it."

    Ha love it

  • You nerd I love you!

  • wow thats amazing your an awesome drummer!

  • Very cool stuff, I didn't realize the GHWT drums were velocity sensitive.

keep up the good work :)

  • Top notch keep it up!

  • You know.. My first thought was about if you we're a girl or boy.

But when you made it clear it felt so.. "why the fuck did I even think of that? Doesn't matter at all!"

Kind of gave me an appifeny (spelling?)

  • jordan314:

One of my favorite composers is Wendy Carlos who was born as Walter Carlos and went through sex reassignment surgery in 1972. Another artist who I love is Genesis P-Orridge from Throbbing Gristle who is considered to be gender neutral. Ignore the haters, your awesome!

  • WOW!

  • Hey are you a b...oh, wait, nevermind. Im ove it...

  • ¿Porque va disfrazado de señora mayor?

  • ajajajajajajajajaja

    maldito

  • amazig!!!

  • Awesome work man! Nice!

  • For PC my friend? any soft? please :)

  • R00st3r posted a PC/XBox 360 link over in my blog comments, I can't post the link here but I'll post it in the more info
