This movie is great and I just caught it tonight on HBO HD. I've seen it before several times. But what really got me is just how the military in real life will go to great lengths to cover up the truth. Just look at the Pat Tillman case.

Good, not great film(imo, of course). Denzel does hs usual excellent job & spprtng cast is adeqte. As an Honorably Discharged Army veteran, I found battle action realistic - however, an M-16 rifle does not shoot rapid fire as shown when Meg Ryan covers soldiers en route to rescue copter. An M-60 Machine Gun does, though; military consultant missed on that detail, not that many ppl caught it.

"Courage Under Fire" is one of my 50 All-Time Favorite Films! Denzel Washington is brilliant. Meg Ryan (who has to show a lot of different emotions because her story is told "Rashomon" style) is excellent.

And what a great line-up of supporting talent: Matt Damon, Michael Moriarty, Regina Taylor, Scott Glenn, and especially Lou Diamond Phillips!
