This track is my favorite.. I almost cried when I tried to play this while reading the scene where Klaus spent his thirteenth birthday in the uptown jail cell of the Village of Fowl Devotees.
"At times the world may seem like an unfriendly and sinister place, but believe me when I say there is much more good in it than bad. And what might seem like a series of unfortunate events, may infant be the first steps of a journey." - Lemony Snicket
I will forever thank Lemony Snicket for giving me a personal philosophy to live by. This is one of the best book series I have ever had the pleasure of reading, and some of the best music scores I've heard in a movie.
I wish they made more movies like this. Granted, it wasn't the greatest movie to some.. but since I was reading the books at the time, It really made an emotional connection to me. Not only that but the soundtrack is amazing.
Oh man.....That music reminds me a melody from Finding Nemo, especially in the beginning.....I believe that every composer has a music character and a music attitude, which makes him unique....Thumbs up if you agree with me...(Sorry for my English)
@TheMysticalElf93 yes, it reminded me of Nemo too! I was like, "I wonder if this is the same composer," and sure enough, Thomas Newman wrote both of them =D
This kinda reminds me of Valley of the Shadow, which Thomas Newman also composed for Little Women. Both very beautiful and emotional pieces of music :)
A Series Of Unfortunate events. This reminds me when i was a little kid reading the first book and crying at then end.Thats when i was 6.Now im 16 and I still cry when I here this song or watch the movie.Kids don't rush to grow up.
@MysteryUpgrade Actually, she did have an uncredited cameo in this as Mrs. Baudelaire. But it was only during that shot of Sunny hanging form the table by her teeth and she walked past.
seriously? i assumed it was huge. everybody i know have seen it and loved it.. ah well, theyd need new cast and that anyway.. wont be as good. just a shame..
"The last safe place is safe no more." - Sunny Baudelaire, The Penultimate Peril
"My stepfather said that the amount of treachery in this world is enormous, and that the best we could do was one small noble thing." -Fiona, The Grim Grotto
I remember that the first time I watched this movie in theaters, I shed a tear during this scene. I couldn't express how just the music would make me feel back then, but each time I listen to it, I feel it again. It fills me with emotions that I simply can't describe. It's... too beautiful for words. ...Surprising how the music we hear can sometimes open our eyes or heart, I thank God for those little pieces of perfection. <3
You know, I always am very sensitive and attentive to the music I hear, especially when it comes to soundtracks. And each melody, each... compositor makes me feel something different from the other. And one thing I can say for sure about this one is, that no other compositor so far moved me like Thomas Newman's music did. <3
This scene was incredible, but moving at the same time.
It was a shame they couldn't make all the movies, but I still liked the way they ended this one. It was beautiful. Personally, I think they did a good job.
At times the world can seem an unfriendly and sinister place. But believe us when we say there is much more good in it than bad. All you have to do is look hard enough. And what seems to be a series of unfortunate events, may in fact, be the fist steps of a journey.
@3point14rat it's all about how you choose to see things, no matter where you go unfortunate events are going to happen you can't escape them but it's all how you see the world. You can choose to be happy in the midst of the circumstance and think about the postive or think about all the negative you just have to look beyond the circumstances look beyond the fog and you'll see so much more.
@koolchristiangirl I think that everyone knows that if you look on the bright side of things the world appears a much happier place. Unfortunately, what you want to think and what you actually think aren't always the same.
I'm a very optimistic guy. I always see things in the most positive way I can, and I always gauge peoples actions in the most forgiving light possible.
But I don't think anyone can go through life without the odd "why me" thought sneaking in when things go wrong.
"Strange as it may seem, I still hope for the best, even though the best, like an interesting piece of mail, so rarely arrives, and even when it does it can be lost so easily."
I love Thomas Newman's compositions. They're so touching and beautiful, and you can listen to them all over again. It always helps me to listen to this whenever I'm sad because it always soothes my soul. I'm glad he got to make the music for this movie.
I work with kids and they play this movie like crazy. After like the 3rd time I was ready to rip my hair out but every time the scene where the orphans get the letter from their parents plays I just want to cry.
sometimes at home i tie my hair up with a ribbon too cause i feel violet is the most proudest of all her siblings i am the oldest sibling too of my brother and sister so i feel i need to be like her
absolutly brilliant and amazing, full of emotions...My hearts beat quickly in 1:31, I smile in 1:56, I wanna cry in 2:16 and I'm feel full of happiness and emotion in 4:14
it's nice when ppl say "the music makes the movie"....of course..it does not....music is something we all as humans ingest through our ears...instead of our mouth...we have likes and dislikes....the ability to create timbre in which most or all of an audience can process as "part of the movie" or storyline is truly an art. try it...it's not easy....alone, the music opens the mind like a book....accompanying a movie....the music guides the mind through the scene. why am i commenting the obvious?
Ha ha...no..I don't make reviews...I wish I got paid to though....I love the arts....music, movies, etc. But I also enjoy reading and listening to honest opinions of people's views on the such....
