Bonded rounds are crap,if you are looking for deeper penetration, just us a FMJ.And using denim is retarded..its only a good test if you're plaining on shooting someone in the leg! The use of ONE sheet of cotton on both sides of the target is good, that reps a T-shirt,and that is wear you wanna shoot someone,is in the torso.
This shooter has trouble shooting the center of his targets,in his videos they are all low or way off to the sides...i personal would feel safe being shot by this guy cause i know i'd survive,Lmao!
@eamonher shot placement and does it function in your carry gun above all else, cultivate a warrior mindset, and ascertaining competent training... Take a look at the list of carry ammo recomended by Dr Gary Roberts and do some reading
people need to really re think using hollow points. the amount of blood and guts your gonna poor in your house good luck cleaning up. a regular full metal jacket will do just as good.
@eLpeach thanks for making it completely obvious that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
Anyone with even a minimal understanding of ballistics knows that hollow points are safer, they decrease the chance of pass-through and also cause more tissue damage through the expanded diameter.
FMJ will do just as good, seriously? you like the idea of punching diameter size holes through people that increase the chances of hitting an innocent bystander?
until the the full metal jacket goes through the suspect and then through your walls possibly harming ur children. I will stick to a hollow point that will most likey fragment or stay inside the intruder.
If your trying to shoot a suspect knowing your children are exacly behind in the following room behind the suspect then you dont need to be shooting in the first place.
and by the way i say this because look at the so called hollow point after it went threw the jug. It was barley exploded and was smooth instead of jagged and sharp in other words that is gonna go threw someone who weighs 170 pounds with 34 inch waste anyways unless your so lucky to hit the thickest part of the body and hit the bones.
Please share your concept of hollowpoints vs. FMJ's with the ammo manufacturers, or even law enforcement! I would be anxious to hear their response! The amount of blood and guts on the floor or wall from a violent criminal is the absolute least of my concerns.
you have never killed a person in real life have you. I have been to iraq 3 times and the amount of bloodshed might tear me apart on this deployment that we are sheduled to go on again
@eLpeach pipe down troll, it's absolutely obvious to everyone here you have no idea what you're talking about.
If you really have been to Iraq(which I DOUBT) that's irrelevant to whether you know what you're talking about as far as ballistics are concerned or not, and clearly you have no idea what you're talking about in that regard.
@bigboss686 If you where smart enough to relize what the fuck is going on down there then you would relize when I was there for 6 months after all the firefights it was up to us marines to clean up the bloody up mess of brains, and intestines and all the horrid shit you will never get to see because you are safe at home.
@eLpeach hmm? what's that Fido? you say you smell more bull shit imitating from elpeach? of course you do boy, he is full of it after all LOL
It's not surprising that you'd tell fake ass war stories to try to cover up the fact that you're a complete ballistic illiterate, save yourself some more embarrassment and trot off somewhere else trolls
I have never seen it in a gun shop, but the local gun shows usually produce a few boxes of "'LEO" ammo. They are usually the first to go, and at top dollar. That has been the source of what I have purchased in the past.
Bro ur ammo tests really are some good shit, it's plain stupid that you still get internet know-it all's coming of tests that you've done saying they're useless and have no real world value. Really? Knowing that a federal hst 9mm will penetrate roughly 13 inches of tissue unless it hits bone isn't helpful? Morons.
@Starstreak817 It's legal unless there are local restrictions. Ammunitiontogo carries it quite often. One of my LGS's carries the 124 +P all the time.
Great video. I'm thinking about getting a 9 but wonder if I should go with the .40 instead. I heard lost of law enforcement agencies switched to the .40. Why is this?
Thanks. Nothing yet on hunting, due to travel and a ton of rainy weather here. I have several setups in mind, in addition to the one shown for the scope cam video. I haven't seen any coyotes recently, and still think Nov-April will be the prime season here.
Do you guys have to get a firearm/handgun permit in Oz? Is it from location to location? I was under the impression that firearms, especially handguns, are hard to come by for the common man in Australia.
Nah, join a gun club and you're set. Wait 6 months and you can buy some guns, but there are some regulations such as 120mm barrel for semiauto 100mm for revolvers and a cap of 10 rounds. Up to .38 caliber unless you get another permit and you need permits to buy firearms and a licence to buy ammo, but not cases or bullets, just primers and powder.
Handgun licence is different to rifle. Still a lot of stupid laws, but it's relatively easy to acquire a firearm legally.
Great video. Thanks for sharing it with us.

You think you could do a test on winchester surpreme elite 9mm hollow points? Their nickel plated and bonded +p 147 gr rounds.
jayrod68 2 years ago
@jayrod58
Sure, they may already be on a growing list.
tnoutdoors9 2 years ago

@pjicleanair420 Ranger Ts are a lot cheaper, though- you just can't get 'em at Wallyworld.

Looks like you have found a suitable, cheaper analog for gelatin. Have you ever made ballistics gelatin before?
1glockfan 2 years ago
I have never tried to make ballistic gel. The process is easy enough, but I don't have the space for cold storage.

i thought the FBI was carrying the winchester PDX1, maybe thats for the .40 s&w?

Well done. Based upon your findings, would you prefer a non-bonded 147 jhp to gain more expansion for civilian use?
TheGunfighter45acp 2 years ago
Yes, I would lean toward non-bonded in 147, but it's preferred in 124 gr.

9mm really not a bad round thank for the great vid.

Is this +P ammo? If it is my next question would be can I use this ammo in my Ruger P89?
4Ugrunt 2 years ago
Check the manual it usually says it in there.
TheFirearmEnthusiast 2 years ago
This is not +P, not even close. Should be good to go in your Ruger. Good luck finding some of this.

For some stupid reason they don't sell this ammo to civilians in Australia, but we can get .357WWB self defense ammo. Great vid 5*s.
