  • We need to look into some of the proposals to modernize and restart production of an OV-10 derivative.

  • Do you know what the song is? The one that replaced John Barry?

  • this mission is now supplemented with F/A-18Ds and OA-10Cs.

  • Stupor Hornets have a back-seat observer but move too fast to see and strike and OA-10Cs are single-seat with over-worked pilots.

  • What song is that playing? On the "Out of Africa" album?

  • It was John Barry's Love Theme from "Out of Africa" until the greedniks made YOUTUBE yank the music.

  • er - I must have misspoke. I meant the current background song, where the lyrics keep saying "save me from myself..."

  • very nice video what is the song please?

  • Yeah but the Brits were not using their IFF tactical radios.

  • This brings up a good point my dad was a FAC flying OV-10s, nothing better than a good pilot and a pair of human eyes over the battlefield.

  • It goes to show just how sloppy the Pentagon's policies and procedures are, when they spend $Trillions$ on so many "precision-guided" weapons, only to use them without any AFAC to be sure that our target is ACTUALLY an ENEMY.

We're bombing too many friendlies, civilians, already-knocked-out targets, and bunches of scrub (that from 10000ft, look vaguely like tanks) to keep skirting the obvious!

  • I'm not sure Nostra was working for the good God the Creator and inadevertly working for the evil god with a small "g" who nevertheless can report truths mixed with lies to deceive us

  • Neo-cons crave the state of a "perpetual war". Look how many of our liberties were surrendered due to it.

  • If we learned how to smother sub-national conflicts with terrain control measures to include manned O/A aircraft we'd put the neocons out of the war business.

  • @only2percent Most regulatory laws are submitted and signed by so called 'liberals.' Study up.

  • AFAC's are useful and needed in wilderness/open terrain warfare. The targets that we are pursuing today do not have readily obvious "military assets" that can be differentiated from the non-combatants from altitude. But your head and your heart are in the right place, we need to have a better system, one civilian death is too many.

  • At least the Israelis dropped leaflets and gave the Lebanese civilians a chance to leave before bombing the Hezbos hiding amongst them.

  • Kinda like we dropped leaflets on Hiroshima and Nagasaki before we dropped. What warning did the japanese drop before the attack on Pearl Harbor??? =Stefan=

  • Correct, if we want the civil population to support us we have to take the moral high ground in our behaviors or else we will appear to be there to take their resources etc.

  • do u all think that the insurgents will give US higher moral standards?

  • Not as long as we keep bombing innocent civilians and creating more rebels because we don't verify targets by AFACs

  • Today, with NeroBush and other American Presidents refusing to declare war, U.S. military forces are being ordered to bomb people who have not had a chance to realize their nation-state has got them into a war and reject that choice. To bomb such people would be both immoral and counter-productive as they would rightfully rebel.

  • When a nation-state like Germany declares and engages in war, the citizens in Germany have a choice and a chance to reject that course of action and possibly flee the country.

  • The preoblem with TOTAL WAR today is that unlike in WW2, you cannot ass u me that everyone in that city you want to wipe out is an accomplice to the nation-state.

  • I agree. We need to start fighting war like we used to in WWII. City has an active insurgency where the civilians are supporting them? Bomb it off the map (like Dresden). If they pop up somewhere else, bomb that city off the map. Surrender or die! And by surrender, I mean no insurgency.

  • like ... if your neigbour (yes, next door) neighbour happens to murder someone, would it be right for the police to treat you as such ?

  • You are morally and functionally right. Killing civilians is wrong and doesn't win wars, it just makes more enemies, our bombing of German cities prolonged WW2.
