i am not surprised that Queen considered him as a replacement for freddie mercury, he was equally as charasmatic and his voice was just as powerful :)
wow. I never tought anyone else than Freddie could wing this song with al the high notes. Jan Werner is good, but i didn't think he was this good. but obviously he is:)
Jan Werners' vocal range was 4 octives And Freddies' was 4 1/2. At one stage Brian May concidered him as possibbly covering some Queen tracks because of his range. Both where fantastic singers in there own right
I actually think it's the other way around; Freddie with 4 and JW with 4 1/2. Listen to JW do Pie Jesu, then tell me his voice spans over less than 4 1/2. :)
Actually, both their official websites pegs them both to a 4... so they had more or less the same vocal range! While I still prefer Freddie over Jan Werner, JW was still one of the most amazing singers I've ever had the pleasure of hearing live. I'm glad I got to hear him sing live before he died!
"Official information" isn't necessarily "correct information". As his manager stated: 'Don't believe everything you read - even when it's on his official site.' Indeed...
Depends who asserted the vocal range, really, and how professional that individual was. Did they say "Ah, about four I reckon" or "He has a range from xx to xx". That's the question.
This one is actually different arrangement with orchestra -- actually the "Beat for Beat" version is better and much more powerful :) I remember Tommy said that they might ad this in their show, so that is why I wondered if this is a recording after that TV program. :)
Denne sangen er på det nye albumet, ikke sant? Det som jeg har instendig manipulert min mann til å kjøpe i julegave til meg (han er Queen-fan...) ;-)

Still, if they had to lie about something... why would they pick their vocal range? I'll stick with what's posted there.

I don't actually know where or when it was recorded, but I did hear that he did it on Beat for Beat. Not sure if this is the same version though :)
