Why isn´t this guy part of mainstream music industry already? He is easily comparable to the likes of Hayes, Burke Chieftains, the Corrs (or was it the Ravens - I forget) etc etc.
As I stated before,Dwayne's my first cousin & nice to see that other family members have posted comments on here as well.He truly is a modern day Cape Breton fiddle icon!
@landrykkb Please tell Dwayne Cote that I have uploaded this video on my youtube page. I uploaded several of Jackie Evancho prior to her big win. Here's hoping he'll get encouragement to do a DVD or CD from responses on these videos.
Hi Debbie! If you could find out who was there when he played this, you could help all musicians. If at all possible, find out who it was that felt it was important to TALK while he was playing this. They have to be the most rude people on the planet. Please tell the talkers for me and all the others who love good music and appreciate talent such as this, that they need to go die in a fire. Dwayne can play at their funeral, and without their incessant yakking.
Very well thanks. How's things your way? Haven't been to CB in eons and miss it terribly. CBC had a phone in the other day of your favourite pplace and I was gonna say Stella's Beach but didn't think anyone would know where that was so I said Grand Greve. :)
I agree that Dwane should eb recorded, it would eb so important to have a good qaulity session done for all theworld to be able to buy and keep forever, so lovely a player!
- saw him in St. Anne's many years ago /and now, what a treat
You make that violin Sing..Your Brother plays beautifully too.. How I wish I lived near by to just take the time to sing with you. and Share our talents. I saw your Wedding pictures. you Looked so happy.. Keep up the Music.. I"m sure that your Dad is cheering you on in Heaven.. HECK he's probably up there playing for the angels.. LOve ya lots and Miss you..
Dwayne's music is more of art form than a lot of other players'; he must worked hard to get that heart-tugging tone in the slow air, then that exactness in rhythm and pitch for the faster tunes. I could listen to him play all day, although it's not very often I get to hear him live. Superlative performer!
That's what I'm talking about. The man is superb!!! Come on Dwayne , make a c.d. There is a lot of fans out here in the U.S. that would love to hear your stuff. Come down here to Boston for a Concert Tour. Thanks for posting the video. I'm sure it will get some play time.
he needs MONEY>> Is there some support out there for him??? He is worth the investing,, look at him... he is 'one' with his fiddle, his minds sings with it..
Absolutely awesome.

For k4hx1
The first tune is "Niel Gow's Lament for the Death of His Second Wife" Gow Collections
The Last is written by Joey Beaton of Mabou and is in B minor. I play it but sadly do not know the name as I do not read but rather learn by ear.
Dwayne is in my estimation one of the three best living CB players (the others being Arthur Muise of Cheticamp and Willie Kennedy of Mabou)
A Real up and comer is Troy MacGillivary opf my home in Antigonish.
Any help? Cheers Stuart

1) Niel Gow's Lament to the Death of his 2nd Wife.
I suspect the 3rd tune is a Skinner tune (classic Scottish repertoire) but can't put a name to it.
