Eddie Palmieri's idol and hero was his older brother Charlie. He was older than Eddie by ten years and was a more complete piano player. I had the pleasure to meet Eddie a couple of times and when I asked him who was best between the both of them he just looked at me and said "my brother tought me everything I know, so who do you think is the best one".

That's cool that you met him, but in all honesty they're both equally amazing. Charlie took a more traditional approach to salsa music. Eddie was, and still is, tinkering with jazz and odd time signatures.
