As impressive as is the Cobra, in original condition, it didn't come anywhere close to being this quick. Yeah, this is a kit, and there are kit Cobras (and other modified hi-po cars), but no one else challenging the record has yet proved they can do better. Can it be done? Maybe; someone else could've built a quicker car (before or after the GTR was invented) that simply hasn't been officially tested -- but this is the car that holds the record for 0-100-0 (mph).

I love this car a guy near me owns a silver one and an atom. This car has no equal around a track. it did a 1:12 around the top gear track The caparo t1 was 4 secs faster but its not a useful road car. (cant go over speed bumps) The Ultima could probably shave off a second or 2 with a race setup.

As it was mentioned before, the Veyron does 2.48s. The Melling Hellcat is damn close to the Ultima, estimated to be around 2.5-2.6. The Aero SSC is close too at 2.78. If a fat guy sat in an Ultima, he'll probably lose to a troll driving an Aero.

I think the guy to be accelerated and deccelerated the fastest is General Stapp on a rocket sled on rails who after a 45x gravitational decceleration had some serious injuries (bruises around his eyeballs, temporary blindness, a fractured wrist) despite being properly restrained.

You're right, the quickest 1/4 mile time I could find for the Veyron was the low 10's and the Ultima got a 9.9. Maybe if the Veyron weren't geared for top speed it could beat the Ultima GTR in the quarter mile.

Fair comment although those are the times claimed on their advert not just by the journalists. Granted, manufacturer claims are not 100% but they can't completely make it up, legally. Besides there is a review of driving it on the net somewhere I remember reading i. The dude was confident it was the fastest thing he had ever driven that was road legal.
