  • my dad had a red one that didn't come with any hose/attachment holder. and I didn't know about a hose till after the machine died. it had the dimension style hose. and all it said was Heavy duty on the bag

  • Do you happen to know if the commercial version has the hose port? I know the hard cover model does but what about soft bag?

  • ahhh nice.

  • @diabeticdoode Thanks :)

  • Hey, do you have the hose rack for the Elite??? If not, I have an extra from the runabout parts, because I decided to put the side mount-attachments from the Preferred on there

  • @lucasmollet I dont. I didn't even know it had one. I would love to have one for it, since it is rather a pain to keep up with the hose and all its accessories.

  • @fgbags I'll send it to you when I get the chance

  • @lucasmollet Sweet. I appreciate that :)

  • @mosesanderson7 Hey there. Well, if it's brand new out of the box I would take it back, but if it's old and just "new to you" I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just make sure there's now way for any wires to get pinched. Also, make sure the crack isn't in the fan chamber where the dirt travels through the machine. This will cause a really big dirty mess inside the motor housing.

  • @mosesanderson7 Hello there! A version of the Elite is available in the Commercial line of Hoover vacuums. Its black with a black bag and an orange cord. Elites are great vacuums, powerful and lightweight. Nice suction, even at the hose.

  • Very nice hoover, I love how Hoover had the good idea to put a light on the base :). Made it much easier to see the corners of the room!

  • @jmurray01 Thanks. I believe most Hoovers had their lights that way. I've always loved the older Hoover headlights. The newer ones look like all the other vacuums out there. Really generic.

  • @fgbags Yeah, over here in the UK most uprights don't have lights, their only an option with hoovers here.

  • @jmurray01 Seems like Hoover still offers lights on most of their machines over here, but I've noticed cheaper machines such as Bissell are no longer offering lights, not even as an option. Home and business lighting has advanced in recent time, therefore eliminating the need for headlights, and therefore keeping vac costs down. As a collector, the headlight is my favorite feature on vacs.

  • @fgbags Hoover was the first vacuum with a light

  • @lucasmollet Yes, but what year???

  • @fgbags 1932

  • @lucasmollet Very nice, u know ur Hoovers!

  • @fgbags I would have to say the one we had (favorite model too, preferred) suddenly broke into pieces and stopped working... We had that for 12 years though

  • @lucasmollet Yeah, that happens to platic-based models. Gotta be careful bout ramming it into furniture. Also store them indoors where it's climate-controlled, rather than outside in a garage.

  • @fgbags The plastic switch on the side of the machine broke too... I ordered a runabout without the motor on ebay... The motor from the Preferred still works so I am just going to replace where the runabout motor was

  • @lucasmollet That is a very common problem. The very first vacuum I ever found was an Elite 350 15+ years ago and it had that problem. I was able to get the part used for a couple dollars and got it back online again.
