Also, is he holding a pick while fingerpicking the verse?... because I don't see him pick one up when playing the heavy parts/solo (which he clearly is using)
yeah of course, he shifted from the dirty channel to the clean one, so he must have adjusted the tone and the vol along with the pickups! secondly, while he does not use the pick he holds the pick b\w his index and middle fingers. and he uses dunlop type picks which r quiet small so u might not have seen it!
Definitely one of the best, if not THE best Alter Bridge song.. and you guys are right, the guitar solo and the powerful vocals are something to behold.. plus the fact that I can relate to the song on a more personal level makes it even better. great job, man. Alter Bridge definitely rocks..

myles kennedy is so much better than scott stapp! stapp only sings, and i've never seen him play the guitar. look at what myles does. and listen to the vast differences in their singing.
Stapp did play on a few songs when he would actually let Mark have a solo. He probably took longer plugging in than he did playing. He would strum for a few bars and then hand it back.
Alter Bridge is amazing. They are great musicians and awesome dudes. I had the pleasure of meeting them and they are so nice. Mark is amazingly humble and I had a chat with Flip about his new drumkit.

In my opinion a guitarist can't be judge only for the quality of his sound, there are a lot of guitar player that can play Van's solos or a lot of versions of canon rock but they can't play in a band, they sometimes can't conciliate (sorry but i'm italian XD) their guitar ability with the ability and the speed of the band where they want to play :P
Ever heard of emotions? Alter Bridge songs (well all hard rock is for that matter)are all about emotions, and you obviously doesn't get that you heartless piece of shit.
I have never heard a more complete band in my life and I am old enough to know Zepplin, Sabbath, Rush, Dio, Metallica and anyone else you want to throw in the mix. Between Tremonti's blazing, soulful guitars and Myles epic vocals there is no better complete band out there. Bass and drums are exceptional and complementary in the most profound way. Alter bridge is simply the best.
Amen brother! I saw them in Dallas with a friend who has seen Stone Temple Pilots and Red Hot Chili Peppers live, and he said that Alter Bridge was the best concert he's ever been to. Oh and the opening band, Another Animal was pretty good too.
I know this sounds stupid, but I studied for the PMP exam listening to this CD over and over again through headphones and got lost in the tunes and passed the exam on like 2 hours sleep... It is a freaking hard exam too and I think I was able to stay focused because of how awesome these guys are... no joke. They are Rock and Roll Gods of today.

How many here have seen them live. I did in Philly ten feet from the stage, I'll tell you what AB is what rock is suppose to be. AM I right by saying they are better on stage than the CD. I LOVE the CD I'm nuts about it, listen constantly but once you see them in person, well I'll say it it's magical. TREMONTI is my idiol, Myles voice is so powerful, I love he changes up the song it adds to the message, this song as well as the entire CD needs to get more notice!!!!!!

god i love marks faces when he plays... hes solo was awesome.... but i feel that Myles just doesnt put his full potential to work on stage as far as vocal talent... he wears himself out with alot of movement -not really in this song but in some he goes crazy- and he gets really tired which takes away from vocal talent... but still great band
lol, not to sound mean or anything, but you try and get up there in front of a bunch of judgmental fans that dont want to see you just stand there and sing like your all boring and such, and yet expect you to sing like a god :P its real hard for him im sure, but they all work so hard at it. I have never heard a more complete band in my life and I am old enough to know Zepplin, Sabbath, Rush, Dio, Metallica and anyone else you want to throw in the mix. Between Tremonti's blazing, soulful guitars and Myles epic vocals there is no better complete band out there. Bass and drums are exceptional and complementary in the most profound way. Alter bridge is simply the best.

Amen brother! I saw them in Dallas with a friend who has seen Stone Temple Pilots and Red Hot Chili Peppers live, and he said that Alter Bridge was the best concert he's ever been to. Oh and the opening band, Another Animal was pretty good too.

I know this sounds stupid, but I studied for the PMP exam listening to this CD over and over again through headphones and got lost in the tunes and passed the exam on like 2 hours sleep... It is a freaking hard exam too and I think I was able to stay focused because of how awesome these guys are... no joke. They are Rock and Roll Gods of today.

How many here have seen them live. I did in Philly ten feet from the stage, I'll tell you what AB is what rock is suppose to be. AM I right by saying they are better on stage than the CD. I LOVE the CD I'm nuts about it, listen constantly but once you see them in person, well I'll say it it's magical. TREMONTI is my idiol, Myles voice is so powerful, I love he changes up the song it adds to the message, this song as well as the entire CD needs to get more notice!!!!!!

god i love marks faces when he plays... hes solo was awesome.... but i feel that Myles just doesnt put his full potential to work on stage as far as vocal talent... he wears himself out with alot of movement -not really in this song but in some he goes crazy- and he gets really tired which takes away from vocal talent... but still great band

lol, not to sound mean or anything, but you try and get up there in front of a bunch of judgmental fans that dont want to see you just stand there and sing like your all boring and such, and yet expect you to sing like a god :P its real hard for him im sure, but they all work so hard at it. My only hope is that at some point soon it will all fall into place and they will get the recognition they deserve.

Blackbird Has To Be Their Best Song, He Sings It With So Much Feeling About His Friend Who Died Of Cancer. no kidding. they are undoubtedly one of a kind. and it sucks because i was more of THIS kind of rock, but no one is similar to alter bridge. fozzy has a few songs that remind me alter bridge, one called "the way i am" features tremonti playing a solo at the end. very heavy and catchy tune with sweet wah solo at the end. cheers
