if your ipod freezes on the boot logo (pineapple) run quiick pwn again and it works

The idea of powering off the ipod then restarting it works. AFter it the apple disappears the USB cable with The Itunes symbol will show up and then you have to follow the directions

anyone who was complaining about it being sutck in recovery mode after it was getting connected, the same thing happened to me, i'll help u guys through it, while it took forever to get set in recovery mode i decided to shut it down and so i held the power button for a bit and slid the bar to shut down, when i did a little window popped up saying i didnt folow instructions but its ok its normal, what you do is you turn it back on and clic ok and it will restart in recovery mode and then continu

I have been having problems with this program. I have an iPod Touch 1st Generation, and I am absolutely sure that it is at the 2.2.1 software, but whenever I try to browse for firmware, I can find it, but it keeps saying that "The IPSW file you selected does not match any firmware version QuickPwn supports. Either the IPSW file is corrupted, or the firmware is unsupported." I am downloading the correct files, and perhaps it is because I am running Vista. Culd some1 confrm that it works on vista?

i dunno why, but right after confirming that my iPod 1G is connected via USB for the second time, so at 1:46 in this video, i never get to hear the sound of a usb device pluggin in and out.

i'd reccomend closing itunes during the process, i myself used the 2.2.1, but if your iPod is on 2.2 already, use 2.2

Yes this option will work for 2.2.

If you want to, yes, you can revert to out of the box state.

I'd reccomend turning off 3G, WiFi and Data Roaming

OK! This problem occurs about 1/15 attempts at doing it, dont panic, your phone will survive. Follow These instructions exactly:

- Hold Home Button for 5 seconds (dont ever let go of home)

- Hold Home and the power button for 10 seconds together

- Release the power button and hold home until the phone restarts. This will put your device into DFU mode. Plug it into your computer and you will have to reapply the firmware by clicking restore. After this, try jailbreaking again. It should work.

Following your vid I found that my iPhone has 2.2.1, so I downloaded "iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore"­, but QuickPwn is saying: "The IPSW file you selected (iPhone1,2_2.2.1) does not match the firmware version of your device (iPhone1,2_2.2)."

Thats pretty strange, all you can really do uninstall the QuickPwn and the IPSW files. Try downloading and installing QuickPwn again, then download the appropriate firmware from the link in the description. If the problem persists then i'll do some research see if your problem is well known. Just for reference, what generation is your iPhone, 2G or 3G?

What happens is, plug in your iPhone, iTunes will automatically create a backup of all your songs, applications and contacts. After you've successfully jailbroken your device, just plug it in, click in your product summary, and you can choose to sync back all your music and whatever you want.

Yes, infact its very easy, when getting it out the box you should get an O2 sim card with it free-of-charge. Use this to activate the phone by just plugging it into itunes. After that, take the sim card out, you should then be able to jailbreak it.

It just so happens, that im doing exactly that. Jailbreak it, then put in the rebel sim along with your network sim. It should all work out fine.

However, DO NOT jailbreak it with your rebel sim/network sim inside the phone.

What i'd reccomend is, go to that link, and download the 2.2 firmware. Now, plug your iphone in, and hold shift and click restore (option and click if you use a mac) then you can manually select what firmware you want to change it to. Once this is done, re-jailbreak it and unlock it again via yellowsn0w.
