Nice review! First time watching your channel. Good feature of the removal roof -- BUT I wish they would use LEDs vs. those crapy light bulbs! All the units I have with those in it, they quit working (not burned out) about a year later. The connection comes loose apparently at the bulb itself. Have you had this problem?

Im thinking about getting one of these to run with my ES40DC, how well do they run together without speed step adjustments?

I bet you can program a CV for flashing rear ditch lights. Where can you go to find out. I really like this locomotive, probably more than the MTH.

How does this speed match with the IM ES40DC ? Im debating whether to get another ES40DC or if i should get the SD70m-2.

Nice review James. Always enjoy watching even though I model N-scale I am a big model railroad fan. The internet has been a great source for information and being able to see great layouts that I would not otherwise be able to see. Shame to see all these negative comments on your page. I believe you do great work supporting the hobby and trying to help other modelers.

That removable cab would make replacing the lousy bulbs with LEDs easier. Only major flaw with this model imho.

I feel sorry for that truck driver the SD70 is just sitting there for God only knows how long in HO scale time

and it has a removable cab top? cool, but useless unless you are going to add figures inside the cab that are driving the train

Long as the truck warping is actually fixed.. It'll be a good loco.

I bought two Athearn ACe's and sold them. Both had the warped trucks.

@soxlosenow Yep truck warping is fixed, I haven't heard any reports of warped trucks on this release. I forgot to mention it in the video though...

i wish the first releases sounded that good like the BNSF 9210 i know i have a an NS 2658 i had to turn the master volume down (cv128) down to like 60 from 255 being the highest
