were these guys officially employed by sega to promote shenmue? i enjoyed watching them very much, but i cant see how this would have attracted anyone to shenmue. seems like most of it was improvised and on a low budget as well. also were'nt these also the guys who did the japanese voices for ren and ryo?

Yeah they are both voice actors for both Ryo and Ren in the Japanese version.
