@kyawmawthu exactly i hope the legendary pictures film captures just how scary Godzilla is not just through his actions but through a visual sense as well i mean he should have a look thats almost exactly the same in the shape of the body and height subtle changes like spikes the teeth and the eyes but he should have a hills have eyes feel to him grotesque ghastly but recognizable

Reminds me of my childhood. I used to go to the videostore every weekend as a kid and rent Godzilla movies. I remember sometimes I got sick of the people talking so I'd fast forward to Godzilla lol.
I don't know what version of godzilla I watched yesterday. A Mother & young godzillas in the remote island with 2 giant ants + giand spider. Is somebody knows that?
Sort of. The original film was a large moneymaker in Japan, so a small group of independent American producers picked the film up for US distribution. They didn't think it would make money here subtitled, so they added the Steve Martin character (played by Burr) and filmed him alongside stand-ins for the original Japanese cast. Also, some dialogue was dubbed and the original storyline was slightly altered, cutting scenes (and obviously adding some as well). That came out in America in 1956.
This movie scared me so much as a kid that dad would have to sleep on the couch when I would watch it on the late night horror show! The original Zilla will always be the best.
This is always going to be what I think of when I hear "Godzilla"; towers falling, primal cries of rage, "a sea of fire". It's a hope in my heart that we will again get t see a Godzilla like this. I think the world is ready to see how Godzilla should be done.
it is still a good film. I think a lot of modern films spend a fortune on special effects to cover up bad acting and mediocre plots. Mind you Godzilla was never known for its Shakespeare style acting LOL.
My friend, it MAY look easy, but let me tell you that "Suitamation" (a.k.a. "The Man In The Monster Suit") is hardass work, and an Artform. Those suits weigh between 150-200 lbs. And, they are hot as hell. Plus, the actor had to move at quick speed with the camera cranked fast, so when it played back, it looked like he was moving heavy and slow. So, before you patronize, give Harou Nakajima-sensei big props for doing Godzilla for (an amazing) 18 YEARS!!!!
the first time i saw this movie i was drunk and understood everything....then i realized it was a real fake monster....besides i am too shallow to be frightened
@timray99 you are so stupid to say that it is a fake monster YES YOU ARE DRUNK TO THINK OF THAT AND ALSO SOBER TO THINK THAT IS IT FAKE THE CONCLUSION YOU ARE STUPID lol
The original godzilla (japanese version) is actually a quite scary movie. But the american version was edited and cut down on the violence and LOTS of the disturbing scenes/dialogue. LONG LIVE THE KING OF MONSTERS...GOJIRA!!!!
I have the original "Gojira" its not that bad. The Original script was quite gory. When Godzilla first appears with his head over the mountain, there was supposed to be half a cow in his mouth, but they cut it out.

One of the greatest films of all time. The original Japanese version makes more sense and explains things left out in the U.S. version. The clock scene was left out. AWESOME!!! Didn't care for the U.S.version Raymond Burr fill-ins that much. Though, Raymond Burr explained things as only he could do.

I saw this film a year back at the American Museum of the Moving Image.
They said that Godzilla's roar was made by rubbing a rough glove over the strings of either an upright bass, or a cello, I don't remember which.
Great film, and better than the Raymond Burr version.
witchman67 2 years ago 3
great movie, but Godzilla should lost his stuff in all thsos sequels from being a evey day monster stoping on Japan to being a Superhero in the 70's.
