  • You've gotta feel bad for Andy in a match like this. His whole game plan with Jimmy Connors was to get to net, but unfortunately he really doesn't have the hands to be a good net player. His two biggest weapons are clearly his serve and forehand, but Federer simply has him beat in every aspect of tennis. Aside from MPH's on serve and being comical in interviews.

  • Roddick went too often to the net in this match and his approaches were extremely poor. Federer simply had a nice training for his passing shots, especially that forehand crosscourt which he did about 10-15 times only in this video. Even when he had a chance to play a volley, Andy couldn't put it away. I think the right tactics for him against Roger are to just try and make as many 1st serves as possible, stay back and hit that forehand big (that's what he did in that Wimby '04 final).

  • This was Roger's best slam, he did not lose a set, and hardly broke sweat winning it. This along with Nadal's win at French Open 2008 are the two most dominant slam wins of the 2000's

  • @danlfc1983 And the Ironic thing is that Nadal beat Federer in that 2008 Final, that's when Nadal was at his peak.... though I have never stopped supporting Federer...

  • That point at 3:50 is not from this planet, that backhand was fucking out of this world.

  • Roddick's approach to the net is so awkward that I actually have to cringe. Nevertheless, Federer was incredible.

  • really great highlights, thank's, roger was so good on this day

  • Sick

  • andy roddick = 1 trick pony

  • demolition job

  • roddicks serve and volley sucks, he needs to watch some patrick rafter!!!

  • @abcjc1 Since the end of 2006, his serve and volley has sucked and he almost always comes in with shitty (for an elite player) approach shots that are in the opponents' strike zones. Against Federer here, against Andreev at the French that year, against Gasquet at Wimbledon, against Tipsarevic, Kohlschreiber, Djokovic, Lopez, Nadal, etc, etc. It's amazing the guy stayed around the top 10 for so long when he became such a counter puncher/hard server only.

  • andy roddick annihilated. fed always defeats him.reason-poor ground strokes. poor BROOKLYN her man always losses his cool as well as match. against federer andy has 20-2 record.ONLY TWO MATCHES.

  • great match by Federer great highlights thanks a lot : )
