Olga Strazheva was actually the first woman to do a double front in competition. She actually tumbled out of hers, often sticking and then doing two back handsprings into a double twist.

Yes, as early as 1986 Junior Euros I believe...

However, (correct me if I'm wrong) I do not believe that Strazheva performed the double front at a World or Olympic level. I think that's why it's credited in Podkopayeva's name.

Both are, as she was the first woman to perform it at a major arena. I could be wrong, but I think she was the first to do it at a World Championship level, not the first to do it ever.

That means she was the person to get credit for it.

Olga performed a double-front then tumbled backwards and then did a 1 3/4 dive roll- amazing! Search for Olga Strazheva + 1998 USA vs. USSR. Olga was unbelievable.
