Just wanted to tell you my wife and I really enjoy watching your videos. Your family is very talanted. Thanks for posting them. Best wishes and God Bless from ky.
This really is a great rendition of this song. I bet you guys could our socks off with your rendition of "Where The Roses Never Fade". Thanks for sharing.
Ahhhh, sooo this is what bluegrass sounds like, huh? I LIKE! AWWWH, this is great! an entire FAMILY! :'-) Praise God! Jesus gives all of us great talents, it's up to us whether we choose to bless Him in return with it. This is great! Glory to God!
@Purity03 This particular selection is probably closer to traditional Southern Gospel than bluegrass, but the harmonies of bluegrass and Southern Gospel are similar. I agree that everyone's talents come from Jesus and God. The two younger ladies you see here are two of our daughters. They are both married now, and I am happy to say that they both still attend church regularly, as do my wife and I.
@mrgreer51 THATS GREAT! Praise the Lord and Im very happy for you and your family! I didn't know much about bluegrass music, my best friend was talking to me about it and told me to check it out, so wats the biggest difference between southern gospel and bluegrass? I don't really know much about bluegrass.
Very nice music. So touching... It has a different power... Makes me feel optimistic and alive!! Mister mr.greer51 after watching your videos I understood that country music is my favorite. Unfortunately, the distance will never give me the oportunity to wade into this music. But I play balkan bagpipe, which is a rather wonderfull instrument! Best wishes from Greece!
Thank you for uploading this beautiful music. As a fellow baptist and musician, your music has touched me. I was literally moved to tears in listening to this. There's a great genuine spirit of joy emanating from this performance, and all of your family's performances that I've watched. May the Lord bless you and your family.
mr, greer what are the name of your lovely ladies singer? you are a great family band.I realy do listen to you all every night. love to hear you play and sing thank you for the great music.
Stumbled upon your music while searching for some new country guitar licks, and i must say this song really has stuck in my head! The ladies hamonize beautifully! Haven't seen Molly in any of your more recent vids, i hope she is still involved with music to some degree, God Bless you and your family!
@southavendanny We are basically the only ones who sing these kinds of songs at our church. As a congregation, we sing hymns or the contemporary stuff you might hear on the radio. Everyone likes what we do, however.
@southavendanny The two girls are married, and attend church with their husbands now. At the time of this video, we attended a local Baptist church. My wife and I are still active members there.
I do play the accordion (and piano, organ etc), but in my opinion friend, you guys have something magical there just the way it is. That harmony is spot on. That bass is spot on. Your guitar is spot on. The other gal playing the fiddle in some of the other videos, she is spot on too. You guys don't need an accordion at all, you shine just the way you are. Keep playing that great ole music my man.
Wow, Eileen, Emily and Molly sure can sing and Phil you're a great guitarist and vocalist yourself. I love listening to you and your family. Bless all of you.
Class. Not exactly the kind of music I listen to, but I am really getting into it. I first saw you with Emily playing Dueling Banjos, so I checked out some of your other vidoes, glad I did. One other thing Mr Greer you have two beautiful daughters.
Family harmony is the best there is. It can't be duplicated. Great videos. Thank you for posting. I love family groups and you all do a great job. Keep up the good work.
Very nice singing, I love it! You are blessed to have such and talented, God loving family. I love to hear your family singing. The singing takes me away for a moment and makes me think back to my past as a child singing at church with my family. This video has lifted me up so much today. Again , God Bless your and your family. Please keep adding videos on YT☺
Absolutely beautiful. I learned this song listening to the Cathedral Quartet singing it on a recording years ago and this is just beautiful. Thank you for sharing it
This is my favorite on youtube! I have Doyle Lawson's "Rock My Soul" CD which is where I know this song from. I prefer your family harmony. Thanks for posting this.
your daughters sing beautifully...and i am in fact a music lover incase you havent noticed by the many comments on your different videos...keep up the good work i love it all
Love, love, love Youtube. There is no place else you can go and enjoy such great music that you would never otherwise be able to hear. Great job all of you.
Bass player (Molly) sings lead, Emily (in back) sings tenor, Eileen (White Sweatshirt) sings low harmony. The part Molly sings on the chorus is written as bass in the hymnal.
Does anyone know - FOR SURE - the authorship of this song? Sources differ, I have seen it attributed to at least three different individuals. In any case, youse guys' version is WONDERFUL!
I have seen it attributed to Presley (who also claimed to have written the lyrics to "When the Saints Go Marching In"), to Hank Williams (probably because the annotater simply assumed that, having sung it, he had written it), and to Marian Williams, so with Brumley, that makes four possibilities. It's a terrific song in any case!
I love these people! So much joy in the songs, the cool engineer's hat, the grandfather clock, I don't know what it is but "it" is certainly enjoyable. 5/5
This was my grandpa's favorite song. My family had it inscribed on his headstone. He passed away before I was born so I never got the opportunity to meet him but this makes me think of him whenever I hear it. My mom has a recording of him singing and playing the fiddle. Talk about a treasure! God Bless you and yours...
Loved this song as a teenager back in the 70s, I was totally into the disco scene, but played this song all the time, I had it on an LP of the Blackwood Brothers. You all did a great job covering it.
Here I am again, enjoying some awesome music making a memory trip back home. Amatuers or not, you and your family are doing awesome things on youtube. It has definately lifted my spirits here in Iraq.
Hi, Can you e-mail me the lyrics on this song so I can sing it for my small church in Southern Illinois? This is different than Hank Williams version that I pulled off the net. I love this song. It helps me learn some Bluegrass gospel and my patients love it! You and the girls are good role models in technique!
When I was 16 in 1978 during the disco craze which I was part of, I used to play this song off a vinyl LP I had from the Blackwood Brothers. My aunt and uncle were retired Assembly of God Ministers and had bought me this LP. I consider myself more Catholic but was also raised in the A of God church too.
Thank you! Sure, if come over here, you are welcome to join whoever is around. Both of these girls are recently married, so we don't see them as much these days, but they are still around some.

Can you play a song just for me? Say this is for Violin635. That would mean so much to me cause I look at you family as an inspiration. I havent even met you guys!! But please do.
Awesome! Tight-knit family, loads of talent, lovely young ladies...great bluegrass music and singing for the Lord. Have we died and gone to heaven, already? God Bless You, all.
Sounds great!! I can tell you guys are a very close family.. To many people take things like that forgranted.. I Love the music and hope to hear more!!!
VERY nice job, these girls are singing there hearts out, giving the peasall sisters A run for the money. please keep up the good work and thanks for posting.
Nice three part harmony...I can hear that family harmony...Nice sounding martin also....Good song too....people dont do enough of the old stuff like this. This is the only kinda stuff our group does. Nice.....Mike Smith. Bluegrass inspirations
This is just plain fantastic! I do hope that these girls do not stray too far from music during their travels in life as there is obvious talent here. I thought that I was a fiddle player, but I guess not, at least not compared to what I have seen in these videos. I do love to here Appachalian music.
I would love to here you preform Maidens Prayer, it is my favorite waltz and was taught to me by the late Ron English. Fantastic, keep it up.
I love this song too but if I had to listen to it in church I might think different. You know your church is in trouble if you have to check peoples pulses when you go down the isle.
Just wanted to tell you my wife and I really enjoy watching your videos. Your family is very talanted. Thanks for posting them. Best wishes and God Bless from ky.
