Wow! What a great tip! One of the biggest problems I have with my serve toss is not only consistency but where to toss the ball exactly. I'm going to give this a try today.
hey Will, i think the ball toss exercise that you have on ur vid is helpful, but i find it more useful if you incorporate the whole motion with the toss, which i completely am terrible at, u got any suggestions?
How exactly do you hold the tennis ball before you toss it? Do you hold it with only your thumb and index finger, or do you just lay the ball on top of your four fingers excluding your thumb like how you did it?
@Rams709 really? you would have to toss, move your weight to the back foot, then bring your weight back forward before the ball falls.. wouldn't that be awkward?
tnx a lot man. thank you for ur genorosity in sharing "how to's". it really helped me a lot. i love all your videos.... hmmmm exept for 1... ( how to smash ur racquet ) ur the best man. whats ur name anyway? :)
great video, i have to practice the toss using this drill now.
btw i have a question. i notice that when you toss, your palm is sideways. is that alright? most videos i've seen recommend keeping the palm facing up, so that the ball goes straight up too.
hi cc. the angle of your hand w/relation to the baseline can vary. pros don't all do the same thing. they do, however, hold the ball in their fingers, release it by opening up their hands, and continue to raise their tossing arm in a smooth motion after they've released the ball.
1 can be anyones coach, but 1 play 1n Colomb1a , bogota 1m very exper1enced player!

it seems like the end of the grip/beginning of the throat of the racquet is where the top of the baseline should line up

A lot of pros seem to put weight on their front foot when tossing, it helps to make it a bit more consistent (I think!).
Great videos btw.
