@hangia Nope. Canucks were a far dirtier team (diving, biting, RAFFI TORRES.) I am not a bruins fan (although I was rooting for them in the finals last year), and I agree that McSorley is a piece of shit, but don't compare Marchand to McSorley.

@jquiets I watched every minute of every game. Boston played more physically, when it comes to dirty though, the Canucks were worse. Again, any team with Raffi Torres and Maxim Lapierre is a dirty team. Well hmm, the biting. Have you ever seen anyone get facewashed? How many of them bite the hand that's in their face? What's that? @jquiets That's not true, often times refs will get into the conflict and restrain players while they still try to go at it. No excuse for biting. Again, I'm NOT a bruins fan. I was rooting for the Canadiens to beat them in the first round. Talk about tinted glasses, I'm guessing your favorite team is either the Canucks or one of Boston's rivals.

I grew up as a Kings fan and I must admit I idolized McSorley. But, after this act I totally lost all respect for the guy. McSorley never recovered from this incident and in fact the Bruins fans really turned their back on him. Fortunately, Brashear recovered from the incident.

I may get flamed for this, but that was assault with a deadly weapon. I know hockey is supposed to be a tough man's sport, and I'm not against a couple of guys facing off to settle a feud. But that was criminal behavior. McSorley is lucky he was not charged for that blow. Brashear could have been put into a coma with that kind of hit.

It is a good thing that Brashear was wearing a helmet. If he hadn't been wearing one, McSordid would have split his head open like a rotten papaya.
It is almost impossible to believe that people used to play this game without helmets.
Someone once asked Gordy how why he used to wear a cup, but not a helmet. His response was simple: I can always pay someone to think for me. His opinion would be different, if McSordid ever tried to decapitate him.
