Hey people who have a t2i (550d) yes you can buy a IR filter on amazon Neewer are very cheap and good... I just wanted to ask you @Fragilityv2 if you are using a JPG this wouldn't work right?
Hey, great video. But I would be more grateful if you tell me does my camera take infrared photos as well as it necessary? My camera is canon kissx4 (aka 550d). What lens should i buy (720nm or higher) and what setting should I use. Many thanks
Thanks everyone. Yeah, I know there is no sound. I made it very quickly to give as part of a presentation as I talked over the video. When I was done with it, I tossed it up here for anyone who might be interested in looking at it.
@fragilityv2 Hi, im very new to this.. ive just got an camera d5100 with 18-55mm lens. and i purchase a IR filter from ebay. it looked bad.. got a big hotspot on the pictures, + i have to like have the camera on 30sec shutter, f3.6 and iso 800 to get pictures in normal light =(( any idea what is wrong? thinking about buying a telelins 55-300mm , but are there any good ones for IR pictures and which filter should i get?
@m3g1 Hey, yeah the filter will limit the light coming into the camera, so you will need the longer exposure time in most cases. I highly recommend the Hoya R72 Infrared filter. For my pics, I just used a stock 18-55mm.
@fragilityv2 i still havent manage to get a pictures with under 800iso and f.3.6 and 30sec shutterspeed =S and i get like these HOTSPOTS on the middle of my pictures =( ive got an Nikon D5100, shouldnt that be good enough to take decent pictures? =S
Try experimenting with the white balance eye dropper tool inside camera RAW by clicking on foliage (which I believe you did) or by clicking on a cloud that is not completely blown out in the highlights... Also, you may already know this, but you can program an "Infrared Preset" inside the Channel Mixer to make it quicker to swap the colors... Great video by the way! Shit, great Photo by the way!!!

What filter did you use, if any, to take the original picture before you processed it?
