Well, folks, get out the lube-we got screwed big time! If you refuse to buy the insurance, you'll have to pay penalties of up to 2% of your annual income to the IRS, and the cost of policies is going to rise ASTRONOMICALLY from end stage and chronic diseases incuding AIDS and cancer. Private insurance CANNOT support all of these million dollar patients. The cost of medical care will continue to rise, and insurance premiums will become not affordable-and you will go to jail for not paying for it

When it comes to cancer,I bet you are a man,right?Because womens cancers like breast,uterus,ovararian,cervical cancers are all female cancers which in many instances cant be helped.
My mother died 40 years ago of breast cancer and it wasnt a pretty sight.

You don't see my point-it's PRIVATE insurance and they have a right to screen. They currently do NOT accept cancer patients and others because it costs about a million dollars PER PERSON to treat-it will drive up the cost of PREMIUMS to their SUBSCRIBERS 6, 7, even 8 times higher than it is now. It will make health insurance UNAFFORDABLE. Middle class people can't afford such drastic rate hikes. Now Obama wants to impose fines, even JAIL-if you dont pay it.

Public option-but it's a moot point. We need health care reform, but this is not the way to do it. Point is, middle and lower middle class people can't afford to hand over half of their pay check to health insurance companies-under threat of the feds fining, even jailing, you. This "health care reform" is forcing private insurance to take the nation of morbidly obese, diabetics, lung and heart diseased people, cancer, AIDS/HIV (which costs $25 grand a month to treat) - and making us pay for it.

Health care reform is a disaster-it will force private companies to take on EVERYBODY including AIDS/HIV, cancer, morbidly obese, diabetics, chronic end stage lung and heart diseases, etc-i.e., million dollar patients per person. Individual health care policy holders will have to pay for it. Cost of health care insurance will rise astronomically and we will be FORCED to keep this insurance or get fined by the US government. Failure to pay means IMPRISONMENT. This is like Gestapo!

It's extortion-private insurance forced to take EVERYBODY will drive costs of policies to rise astronomically, and you must have such a policy or get fined by the US government-failure to pay these fines will lead to IMPRISONMENT. This is no different than the Gestapo, and it's frightening. Once this passes, I will no longer be able to afford private insurance and I wont know what to do.

Where do these people who dont want healthcare reform with a public option live?? Everyone I talk to, say they are in favor of the public option, and they arent poor. Please, I do not believe the polls that are saying most Americans are against healcare bill is false!! Just heard on TV that President Obama's approval ratings have gone up drastically!!! They attribute it to the possible passage of health care reform. If he would give us a public option, his approval rating would go through the roof!!!! Most everyone is saying that we can pay for it by taxing those cadilac plans that rich folk have. I say, it would be good if Congress will raise the capital gains tax to help pay for it. It is the governments job to be sure that those with money help the poor!!

if a healthcare bill passes the senate will any of the laws included go into effect in the new year? do congressman have to vote in both houses for a final bill before it becomes law? when does the healthcare bill become law?

The laws go into effect,at the time the ink dries on the paper,or at the designated time,stated in the bill. At any point,even after it's signed into law,it can be subjected to amendment by any party. The amendment(s) then go through the same process as the bill. 1st Congress, 2nd the Senate 3rd the President's signature or veto,but normally an amendment to a bill (after it's already made law) skips the other 2 processes (depends on where the amendment originated from)

many people do say that. i believe they have evidence based on worldwide data collection that support the contentions of global warming, of which there are a number. rising amounts of co2 in the atmosphere starting sometime in the last century or so, shrinking ice caps in the arctic and antarctic, that's the north and south poles, and that measurements of temperature are rising on average in the world. they have many good reasons for the conclusions they make.
