He totally brutalized, beat and raped her. She called me crying and asked what to do, I told her to call the REAL cops and at least go to the hospital. She was as hurt and traumatized as any rape victim could be.

I guess what I was saying was that with methadone or sub you lower your chances of death. disease, incarceration and dying so in that way it is better. I have hep c now even though I never shared a rig, a bad heart and serious circulation issues (collapsed veins) that I wouldn't have had any of had I stopped hitting the streets. Plus the craziness you subject yourself to scoring, getting the $ and all... I wish I could change what I did, now.
@MrDexHead, MrStopHeroin is right, if you're to that point (I'm on methadone myself and physically can't stop. I was put on it for pain but like many others I got caught in the cycle of abuse, addiction, selling them for money-which is a whole other addiction in of itself-etc.) Only in the past 3 months (and I've been on them for 4 years, so this is how stubborn I am) have I given them to my dad, he has the key to the safe which we got for really cheap used, and that has been working
@MrDexHead, I don't ever get to take more then my allotted amount, which really fucking sucked for the first bit but I haven't had to worry about withdrawals since, and that makes it all worth it. If you have someone around you, that you can trust with your drugs and is willing to take on the emotional burden of getting in your face when you're going through withdrawals. I'd recommend trying this, you may fail a few times before getting it right BUT DO NOT QUIT! Please!
Ok but on a serious note. What happens when a heroin/opiate addict gets arrested and they start getting dopesick in jail? Do they give you something to help relieve withdrawals? Somebody told me they give you something weak, kind of like a darvocet. I got busted with 2 10mg oxys in 2007 in after i bought them in this nasty apartment building and the cop was wating for me around the corner. He didnt arrest me and let me go with a warning not to ever return. I got lucky there big time.
@TheWaynelds don't know about where u are but in Australia if you end up in prison they put you on opiate replacement therapy, usually suboxone but sometimes still methadone.....they figure treatment will prevent you committing crime again and statistics do show its true, I've heard they do similar in the US
@TheWaynelds In the UK they give us methadone or subutex they're like false heroin replacements without the high. You don't feel any withdrawals on methadone It knocks you out pretty much if you have enough. I've never injected like this I had a small habit smoking it in joints with skunk if anyone is thinking of trying it that's the way, the addiction is less and you can be back to normal and free of holes when you leave it

@TheWaynelds You can get clean off methadone but it's a long process I was on it for over 2 years clean of anything else and reduced gradually all the way down until just 3mls from 50mls (which used to knock me out way too much) and was then on 3mls for almost a whole year before I could let go of that last bit. 100% clean now just need air, water and food. Maybe a spliff now and again.

@MrDexHead Try to get on a suboxone or methadone program, it's better than straight using. Eventually you will stop, but it may not be your choice and you may not survive it. I know it's harsh, but it's true too. Take things ob your own terms and stop letting that demon punk you.

@MrDexHead I have been there and done that, too. I guess what I was saying was that with methadone or sub you lower your chances of death. disease, incarceration and dying so in that way it is better. I have hep c now even though I never shared a rig, a bad heart and serious circulation issues (collapsed veins) that I wouldn't have had any of had I stopped hitting the streets. Plus the craziness you subject yourself to scoring, getting the $ and all... I wish I could change what I did, now.

@MrDexHead, MrStopHeroin is right, if you're to that point (I'm on methadone myself and physically can't stop. I was put on it for pain but like many others I got caught in the cycle of abuse, addiction, selling them for money-which is a whole other addiction in of itself-etc.) Only in the past 3 months (and I've been on them for 4 years, so this is how stubborn I am) have I given them to my dad, he has the key to the safe which we got for really cheap used, and that has been working

@MrDexHead, I don't ever get to take more then my allotted amount, which really fucking sucked for the first bit but I haven't had to worry about withdrawals since, and that makes it all worth it. If you have someone around you, that you can trust with your drugs and is willing to take on the emotional burden of getting in your face when you're going through withdrawals. I'd recommend trying this, you may fail a few times before getting it right BUT DO NOT QUIT! Please!

Ok but on a serious note. What happens when a heroin/opiate addict gets arrested and they start getting dopesick in jail? Do they give you something to help relieve withdrawals? Somebody told me they give you something weak, kind of like a darvocet. I got busted with 2 10mg oxys in 2007 in after i bought them in this nasty apartment building and the cop was wating for me around the corner. He didnt arrest me and let me go with a warning not to ever return. I got lucky there big time.

@TheWaynelds don't know about where u are but in Australia if you end up in prison they put you on opiate replacement therapy, usually suboxone but sometimes still methadone.....they figure treatment will prevent you committing crime again and statistics do show its true, I've heard they do similar in the US

@TheWaynelds In the UK they give us methadone or subutex they're like false heroin replacements without the high. You don't feel any withdrawals on methadone It knocks you out pretty much if you have enough. I've never injected like this I had a small habit smoking it in joints with skunk if anyone is thinking of trying it that's the way, the addiction is less and you can be back to normal and free of holes when you leave it

@TheWaynelds You can get clean off methadone but it's a long process I was on it for over 2 years clean of anything else and reduced gradually all the way down until just 3mls from 50mls (which used to knock me out way too much) and was then on 3mls for almost a whole year before I could let go of that last bit. 100% clean now just need air, water and food. Maybe a spliff now and again.

@TheWaynelds I was using about 2 1/2 grams of tar a day and when I went to jail (6 months) they cut me off cold turkey. I got some kaopectate, but nothing more. It could vary from state to state I guess, though.

@fikapaburk, I know I might not have been stuck in it as long if I had more friends around to jump down my throat for it. That isn't me in any way saying it's your responsibility. I'm just saying that people fall, yo. It can happen to anyone. This doc is kinda old, but oxycontin and other painkillers can find their way into your life on the turn of a freakin' dime. The way this shit can take you away from yourself is unbelievable. That said, I think all drugs should be legal.

I dont know how you can get to this level, I have watched this whole documentary over the years and from time to time I still think about it, I find it so shocking that someone will jab themselves with dirty needles all over just to catch a buzz.. I think that if they showed this is schools it would definately have a positive impact. This documentary definately made me never want to do a drug, its just so sad that people throw away their hopes and dreams just to get high.

That was horrid enough and like a cliche walking, I lost it all not once but twice. Staying clean is so hard for me as i am a writer and punching these articles out, for days and nights at a time, does not require an opiate buzz but it certainly seems that way for me. Its this self made writing work load that demands even a .5 hydrocodone to get through an article on macroeconomics!
