Hi Great project, I recently get into graphics and bought a great serial LCD with touch controller called SMARTGPU from vizic technologies, and it's just 3 wire interface(avoid all the common wiring), microSD-4GB, could be used as shield or on a standard breadboard, very powerfull graphics, You can create advanced applications very very easy, I recommend it to you, check my video response! tab "SMARTGPU mbed ipod like demo" on youtube search

Yes but not for this LCD since it was quite non-linear
