In reference to your comment the chev small block was never used in any other GM cars, what do you think was in the corvette?? An LS1. Which the gen 3 is based on.
The 215i factory stroker is a 350 cube engine, same bore and stroke as the 350 Chev. The 355 version is the same thing with a 40 thou overbore.
The LS1 is made by GM powertrain (not Chev) The Chev small block was never used in the other GM cars that made their own V8's Pontiac Oldsmobile, Buick etc all had their own engines. Holden had it's own small block but did also use the Chev for a short time. The LS1 is 60 degree alloy engine it has nothing to do with the 90 degree small block at all
well actually, if you new anything, the 215i VS Senator is a 5.0 litre(4987 cc) stroked to a 5.7 litre(5737 cc). the normal 5.7 litre (gen 3) 5665 cc, which came out in the vt ss II and above was a 350 (chev engine). the holden 304ci that hsv got a hold of and stroked it to 355ci. hence why they are called it the 355 stroker engine. get ya facts straight for ya put comments like that on here....
dude, the LS1 is a 350 chev engine. and the standard hsv vs senators with the 215, is a harrop 355 stroker engine. you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
yeah ok, the LS1 is a 5.7 (well tech 5.6 something), but the stroked 5 liter is 5.7 (aka 355 stroker engine....
The LS1 is not a 350 Chev engine. The 350's are cast iron. LS1's are alloy. The 215i HSV's use a Harrop 355 Stroker crank, but the blocks are not bored out. Please look on wikipedia about the LS1 engine, and if you still dont belive me about the 215i, Go onto street commodores, make a thread and ask everyone else.
@leejames1982 Never said it was an LS1? I said the 215i was a 350 Stroker. It isnt a 355 however it uses a 355 Harrop crank. It still has the 3.480 inch stroker but not the 30thou overbore How ever it does use the 355 Harrop Crank. An LS1 is a 346ci, that is what the argument was about almost 1 year ago since people were saying a LS1 was a 350, When it isnt.
@pedrotski2007 dude it is a holden 5.7lt stroker. stock from the factory they come out with the harrop stroker kit which brings them to be a 355 stroker. a 350 is a chev motor retard....
@leejames1982 dont you hate it when you look like a dumbshit on a public forum... especially when you don't hold back in being quick to abuse others.. a 215i isn't 355ci - it's definitely 350.
LOL Im not sure what owning one has to do with knowing anything about it... and I know this might be hard for you to understand.. but why the fuck would anyone be talking about an LS1 in a VS senator based video? I dont blame you for being an ignorant.. but the aftermarket 5.7litre strokers are 355ci, the factory ones are 350ci. They didnt even run the same crank, as Harrop made one for production engines at the time and then released another one for their aftermarket kits. FACT

The LS1 is a 347, not a 350. 3.48" stroke with a 4" bore (standard bore) = 350 (same bore & stroke as a 350 Chev...)
3.48" stroke with a 4.030 bore (30 thou overbore) = 355.
Factory Holden strokers are 350 cubes. :) Please google things before you come back here again.

@86iceblue hahahaha the only person that looks like a dumb shit on this forum is you mate.
ok for starters the holden 5.7tl in a vt ss is a 350 cube chev motor.
the 5.7 lt stroker motor that the vs senator comes standard with is a holden 5.0lt block with a harrop stroker kit which makes it a 355 stroker motor.
the reason i know this is because i OWN VS SENATOR MYSELF.... wanker....

@pedrotski2007 haha its not a ls1 motor so why are you saying its a ls1 motor when it clearly is a 355 stroker?
