no it doesn't seem more likely that a bearded man in the sky made two people in this giant universe only to satisfy two people and their children. I also don't believe in talking snakes, rivers splitting, and dinosaurs existing 6000 years ago.
no one has those answers and its complete speculation of how it all started, and if your so convinced with your whole god theory who created him and so fourth. You ask me that question as if theres some fact to explain it all when there isnt and there may never be one. Or we will just never understand it. But saying because I dont know how existence came into being is proof of a god is just dumb. Ill go with the chance theres no god over the infinite possibility's of endless types of gods.
@blueice188 I agree that the 'anybody else who ever had a god their god's wack' is kind of pushy, but not all christians are that pushy. I don't force people, I do try to convince them, but I won't force it. But I also have to agree with the chorus. I mean, being evolved from monkey's makes more sense than People already being here and reproducing? Not really.
@Richarddwc so then how about the monkey's? If it wasn't possible for us to have already been here, how was it possible for the monkey's to have already been here?
@zimruleshumanity ... -_- you really dont know how evolution works do you. there was something that evolved to monkey and so fourth. Evolution has been proven as we have seen new species appear right before us on a consistent basis. The only argument you could possibly have is that you didnt see us evolve so it musnt have happened at all. Thats right, gods just a pokemon trainer who hit the B-Button.
@Richarddwc how did the object that evolved into the monkey get there? And if you're planning to say the 'big bang' theory, how did those objects that exploded get there?
Creationists believe that to debunk evolution is to validate their belief. Far from it. At the very best, it could argue that there is no answer and any random theory is valid. The leap they want to make- that evolution is not proven therefore there must have been a deliberate act by a sentient force to bring about life- is massive and totally unfounded. And incalculably more of a shot in the dark than evolution. What it is not is in any way scientific. That's why it doesn't belong in school.
@zimruleshumanity First cause isn't a very good line of reasoning to peruse. Science seeks to look back as far as it can, to hypothetically posit what came before with no evidence to support invites infinite regress. If your answer is God, you invite the question, "Then what created God?" There is no end to this line of reasoning, it's turtles all the way down.
@Richarddwc Monkeys are actually cousins, not ancestors to humans. I appreciate the arguement you're trying to put fourth, but your inadequacies are giving your detractors a perception of a weaker argument than actually exists. I suggest reading "Greatest Show On Earth" by Richard Dawkins. It's specifically written to help address a lot of the ignorant questions you're responding to.
There is no god, the only remotely debatable proof is that maybe there is a god and the devil just makes the stupid to most of us, but you can't prove or dis prove that theory because the evidence required doesn't exist. If there was a god he would want us to see him
Pasdam, our DNA is 98% similar to Hamsters. Oh, also cats, dogs, rats, mice, chicken, pigs, and pufferfish have DNA very similar to Humans. My misunderstanding of the "basic ideas" of Evolution must not realize that we evolved from them too. Lots of people species winning the lottery around here, it seems.
@Whodisdeya Well of course they have DNA similar to humans, they're mammals. I didn't come on here to make you believe anything; when's the last time someone got convinced of any argument on a YouTube comment? My point is it's a more valid and simple concept than you make it out to be. It's the idea that traits are randomly passed down from generation to generation, with occasional mutations. These mutations are sometimes improving, and are passed down more often than their lesser
@Whodisdeya counterparts. It has nothing to do with your "grandpa being a monkey" and it certainly isn't spontaneous. Once again, not out to change anyone's opinion or prove something. Just another YouTube user with a belief.
Love this song, no mater that the non-working-commies in protest ("Occupations") think even if they lack the decency of forethought and "signal use"... the Apple logo on the vehicle is proof... (Slackware faux life!)
Hahaha! Flying Spaghetti Monster! All hail. Eternal damnation awaits all those without faith. But don't worry. The Flying Spaghetti Monster loves you all. Even as he damns you non believers to Hell.
How do you quantify talent? How do you measure love? Where does Consciousness come from, and how did Consciousness form out of stray energy passing through a cloud of energy, creating the Universe? Premonitions? Visions? There are so many unexplained and unquantifiable things in life that Science is trying relentlessly to explain away. It's funny to try to hear someone who is like 25 years old explain life, like they really know.
@Whodisdeya You can't measure love, it's an emotion. Consciousness is a function of our neurons, and the electrical signals they send to each other in billions of combinations. Premonitions and visions probably stem from your subconscious, more likely than ESP. Science doesn't know anything, but again, to attributed unknown (as of now) things to unknown forces is fallacious. We are learning and discovering more day by day.
@someperson346 I agree we are learning more, but Religious people are learning more too. We're not all just ignorant naive sheep, praying to a God that we have no knowledge of blindly, hoping we'll be saved. There are things personally in my own life that have went so well for me, nobody can tell me that at least SOMETHING isn't watching over me, helping me out everyday. I'm 26 years old and I've been everywhere in this world, mostly for free. I feel as though something is guiding me.
I didn't say for their beliefs, I said they mass murdered, and they did. You are saying Christians did those things, but if they were really Christians, they would never go and murder someone for their beliefs. Jesus preached EXACTLY the opposite, so they weren't Christians at all, just liars tricking people into following them. So by your logic, because someone is persecuted for their religion, they are stupid? You make no since. All evidence points to death then nothing? You are just...
The whole point of the lyrics is to point out the absurdity of creationists...that they couldn't be bothered to take the time to open a book and see that natural selection never said we evolved from modern apes but rather that we share a common ancestor...they take a surface expression and through repetition think it becomes fact...
@Epyx911 You craft a straw man as you hypocritically accuse others of doing the same - though of course you add on an insult to their intelligence while you do so. I've heard the "from apes" thing is a line used for simplicity's sake even by people who have gone on long explanations about how it's not literally "from" apes at all.
I can tell you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. From Apes came from a debate in the Victorian time when evolution was introduced. And frankly for someone who uses terms like straw man without understanding their meaning I'm not surprised. It's satire and he's pro-evolution. I question anyone's intelligence who ignores hard irrefutable scientific fact for mythology and an imaginary friend.
Eh, I hope this is satire Because I just lost a lot of respect for the guy. Why do people (Religious AND Atheists) have to be so infatuated with what people believe. Live and let live, shut the fuck up, and grow up.
@BigdogWitBigdog why is it that when an atheist speaks up people get upset. But when a jesus freak runs his mouth people think it's the shit? Every turn you make it's jesus this and god that.... so it's THEM than need to shut up first. Then maybe the atheists will shut up. See how that works? Humans tend to balance things out and that's what outspoken atheists are doing Get it now?
@AMagicalUsername What planet are you on? For crying out loud, you compare "atheist" (neutral term) to "jesus freak" (insult on multiple fronts), and you're getting "thumbs ups" for it.
@BigdogWitBigdog Its making fun of Hyper-Chritians and Hyper-Athiests. Its basiclly about how stupid people who try pushing their beliefs on others are.
It is a big deal because religion, but more so creationism, in general is holding a veil of ignorance over the eyes of modern people. It is no surprise that America is behind in education having 40% of it's population not believing evolution. Damn shame.
@Akuisen uh.. do you even know what is taught in biology in school? since like.. the 60's all sciences are forced to teach pure evelotionism.. and all of science looks down on any creationist scientist and usually don't even let them publish anything they offer up to many science journals.. also there is a difference between creationism and intelligent design =)
They are SCIENCE classes. Creationism/intelligent design are NOT science. They are pure speculation, and if anything pseudosciences that have about as much authority as the flying spaghetti monster. I could say the Earth formed together from Lincoln's fecal matter that converted to the various elements after hundreds of years of aging, this is creationism/intelligent design. Shit, shit someone made up one day.
@mhsuper First of all, you're so clueless that you can't even spell "evolution", and second of all Intelligent Design and Creationism are exactly the same thing, and to think differently is pure idiocy.
@mhsuper Lol, no one is forced to teach pure "evolutionism". School classes teaching in the area of science are forced to purely teach science. And if your to complain about that they have classes for all sorta of opinionated theories in college.
@linuxgeekalex satire: a literary composition, in verse or prose, in which human folly and vice are held up to scorn, derision, or ridicule.
Your comment seems to imply that it's *not* meant to offend people who don't believe in evolution, but who exactly do you think this satire is mocking?
@Tuhljin Oh, wait... after reading a couple other comments here... are people *seriously* dense enough to believe he's taking the side of creationists here? Wow. Seriously? He's clearly insulting them, heavily, and with all the stereotypes wielded by most militant atheistic haters.
the bible refers to the great harlot , the world empire of false religion, by becoming the dominant religion on earth catholicism has put its self in that place . you ask how come god can not control the priests the answer is that those priests belong to satan and not to god
You guys are all dorks. If God exsist or not does not matter in a whole, what matters is that we exsist.
And I do believe in God, but not prophets, saints, religions, the bible, nor any mythological fairytale you want to tell to make you feel safe at night.
God, I started listening to this song here years ago now, and there were only a few pages of nerdcore supporting comments. Now look at all this bullshit.
@videoguy1235 "Assuming that God exists, couldn't he have fabricated all of the evidence supporting evolution to test your faith?" You just called God a liar.
Man: Hey god? God: ? Man: Well you know how you can create anything say a Boulder? Can you create one but make it unliftable even to yourself? God: Duh Man: And Cant' lift it? God: If I can create it than I can lift it no matter what! Man: Ok you can lift no matter what? God: yup Man: So then you cant create it since its liftable. You either create it and cant lift it, or you cant create it because you can lift it. In other words you can can't do it or you cant can do it. God: Um? Man: =/......
@videoguy1235 Replace the word God and Christianity with any other god concept that you're not familiar with, or the majority of religions that are no longer practiced (Mythology). You'll quickly see, though you may feel objective on this issue, you're actually giving special credit to the Christian God by making elaborate points, implying this unfalsifiable hypothesis is as likely true as false, when you realistically wouldn't do that for any other God. Or myth. Or random extraordinary claims.
In all likelihood, you would assume most extraordinary, unfalsifiable claims false until some shred of empirical evidence was presented. But once the Abrahamic God is mentioned, it's suddenly a "Hey guys, we can't really say one way or the other, you're all biased!"
Ah...it's great looking through all the insanity on both sides in the comments. If half the effort exerted there went towards something useful, we might be in a more awesome place right now. Ah well.
Assuming again. I spent 16 years in Catholic schools. I have read the bible all the way through at least 4 times. You are a spin artist. They took the young women as wives they didn't rape them that shit was hella common back in the day, all the other people they conquered they killed. God told them to kill them yes, a bible class would teach you the concept of purity and sin and why. There are thousands of metaphors in the bible I know your game, babies heads on rocks.. I KNOW YOUR GAME.
@Whodisdeya Virgin girls at that time were little girls. THAT'S NOT MARRIAGE THAT'S PEDOPHILIA! What you just described in this quote, "They took the young women as wives they didn't rape them that shit was hella common back in the day,all the other people they conquered they killed." You do realize that that is a genocidal practice right? Trying to justify those crimes against humanity shows a lack of compassion that's truly terrifying. Religion of love my ass!
Yeah, my game... The game of reading the Bible without people telling me how murder and torture can be acceptable if your imaginary psycho friend tells you it's ok. Excusing those crimes against humanity makes you a fucking heartless monster. I don't care what religion their parents are, there is no excuse for the genocidal practices described in that disgusting book.
@TheSkepticalApe So there should never be murder ever? We should all just chill and be happy together? The fuck are you smoking man. One day somebody is going to come along and take someones land and enslave them. To get your shit back you have to go take it back. God either gives you his blessing because you deserve it through your deeds or he doesn't. Oh they should have stayed slaves I guess, even though they were following the law?
@thedude346supporter You don't understand the concept of purity of good and evil, and the need for a blood sacrifice to forgive sin. Science says that something that isn't proven by scientific terms isn't real, but not everybody lives and dies by science. It is not the only way to find something out, or to know something. Science is your religion. You live by it, you'd die for it, and you label everything as true or false based on it. You're no different than a religious person.
@Whodisdeya What the fuck are you blabbering about? Of course I don't understand purity of good and evil, they don't exist! They're abstract concepts, unlike measurable, provable, recordable, observable Science. Jesus Christ. Get it through your head. EVERYBODY DOES LIVE AND DIE BY SCIENCE! The energy you use daily? Governed by science. The cells your body is made of? Ditto, Science. The formation of the Universe, the planet? Science. Your mom's egg and your dad's sperm? Science. Death? Science.
@thedude346supporter They don't exist to you, just because you think they don't exist doesn't mean they don't. Science always contradicts itself. It's up to you to prove the non-existance of God, in the same way it was up to the round earth scientists to prove the Earth was round. You want to challenge centuries of belief, then prove why we are all wrong and you are right... you can't.
@Whodisdeya You just don't get it, do you? IT DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER OR NOT I BELIEVE THEY EXIST. It's the fact there's NO PROOF that they don't exist. Belief plays zero role in reality. Science is constantly evolving and bettering itself, unlike your sad little cult. The brilliant Greeks (most of them) believed giants in the sky made lightning and thunder. It is YOUR burden of proof, because you are claiming a ridiculous idea to begin with!
@someperson346 Lol, you're no smarter than I am because you don't have any faith. You're going to be searching for meaning forever, trying to find out where you come from, and you will never find anything. You don't even realize that everything you ever need to know to get where you want to be is right here.
@Whodisdeya 1) Faith does not determine intelligence.
2) I use the Scientific method. When I search, I find answers.
3) My God, you are messed up. Of course the answers are right there. No, not in the Bible, silly, right in front of us. But we can understand and find them with Science. Lolz
@someperson346 I find answers all the time. You assume I'm stupid because I'm religious, and it will always cause you a problem until you realize that people think a million different types of ways and Science is just another way to prove a few things, everything was meant to work hand and hand, not against each other. As long as you think in terms of everything has to be hard, solid facts to be real, you are never going to find anything that truly matters.
@Whodisdeya Science isn't just another way to prove things, it's the ONLY way to prove things. If everything was made to work hand in hand then why the fuck did your god make the food chain. A food chain which we are not even at the top of. I assume you're stupid not because you're religious but because you believe that religion can can give you insights beyond that of science... Oh wait that's all religious people.
@MrWafflebeater You've never been religious so how do you know it's not real? I delve in Science just as much as you do, and I understand just as much as you do, if not more, and I still believe in Religion. You have a biased one-sided view of the world, while I explore all spectrums... who's the stupid one? Don't be mad because you are close minded. I listen to all theories and I think a lot of them are just plain ridiculous.
@Whodisdeya I wasn't even going to respond to your nonsense until I saw your idiotic presumption that I have been an atheist all my life. I was raised in a very religious Roman Catholic family and remained one until about a year after my confirmation, so about 16 and a half years of my life. My mom goes to church 4 times a week and both of my parents are in a bible study group and a religious revival group. So before you go spouting off nonsense again perhaps you should ask some questions first.
@MrWafflebeater It's easy for a person who is from the other side to assume that a person who is arguing for atheism has been that way awhile. You can try to change the subject and make me look stupid for assuming that, but assuming once doesn't make me unintelligent. I'm glad you were raised in the Catholic Church, then you know like I do that it's incredibly corrupt. I was raised Catholic, and i realized how stupid denominations are. Christians are Christians.
@MrWafflebeater Top of the food chain? What are you talking about... how do you think we made it out of forests/caves? Animals have fangs, brute strength, and claws. We have brains, and spirit. We're so far at the top of the food chain it's not even funny. Sure we can't physically outdo a Lion, but we can make a trap in about 2 minutes that the dumb lion will walk right into while we hide in a bush and never know what hit him. Food chain... just another Scientific nonsensical argument...
@MrWafflebeater Everything works together for good. Animals are here for our benefit. He made the animals for us. Why? Because they don't do anything but eat and kill. They have no use in terms of real progression in the world. We can make tools, give gifts, help the needy, build building, we have ideas... why do you even lump us with the food chain, and animals. We are not even close to animals we are so far past them it's not even funny, they have no chance.
@Whodisdeya Animals evolved, they were not created. They play a very important role in the global ecology, forming a vast, complex web of inter-connected networks and niches in different environments. We share 95% of our DNA with chimpanzees. I'd say that's pretty close. Physiologically, we're no different.
@someperson346 You think animals evolved you don't know shit. I've been looking into Evolution a lot and they don't even have the full fossil record to prove that it even happened... there aren't any fossils that prove Evolution, Evolution cannot even be proven...
@someperson346 Psychologically, we're no different than Chimps? Well, if Science tells you that then go ahead and believe it. I've never seen a Chimp build a skyscraper, though. I believe in Evolution, but I do not believe that everything evolved from a Fish. I don't believe in The Big Bang, because the way it is explained makes no sense, and when someone can't explain something, they say it's too complicated. "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." Einstein.
@Whodisdeya It's not a function of what Science "tells" one. It is a function of what is true. Chimps have not the mental capacity to build a skyscraper, but think about it. They have similar body structures. The same bones, same DNA, same most of everything. Chimpanzee and human skulls are astonishingly similar, and the bipedal functions they display are impressive (they don't walk on two legs all the time, but have the capacity to some of the time.)
@Whodisdeya No, I don't think live evolved from fish. I think (and this thought is not blind, but backed up by some measure of support/evidence) that life evolved from cells, which makes sense, as we are all composed of cells. It takes only a microscope to see that. Those cells then evolved first to live in the ocean, as fossil record has shown, then develop to live on land as well (see intermediate fossils).
@someperson346 Well yea, it makes sense that it would be cells sure (from a Evolutionists standpoint), because if we came from only fish, then someone or something had to create the fish. I truly believe in Evolution, I just do not think that it explains how we ended up here, and in the state we are in. I do believe that organisms evolve, and only an idiot would think otherwise, but I do not think that Evolution is that far reaching that it is the solution for our growth from cell, to human.
@Whodisdeya We don't fully understand the Big Bang, that's true, but there is some evidence of it (see the microwave background.) An excellent National Geographic article, as well as several other articles explain this, but again, as we are on YouTube, I cannot link them.
@someperson346 I just think it's weird, because from what I've read, "Some kind of energy passed through a cloud of gases, creating an explosion that created the Universe." Things don't just come from nothing... that energy had to come from somewhere. Something must have been here forever, I just don't believe that everything could have come from nothing, it makes no sense.
@someperson346 That being said, I greatly respect your opinion, and if this was in real life, we could be friends because you actually RESPECT my Religion, instead of calling me a dumb Christian sheep. I had an Atheist friend and he was awesome, we would share our beliefs with each other, and we were friends because we didn't insult each others' beliefs. Sorry if I did insult yours, I get that was when I'm attacked for my beliefs, though.
@someperson346 Why could that energy that passed through that cloud been energy from God? Why is it so hard to believe that we were created? People will believe in Aliens, Theories they've never seen tested, they'll believe in insane get rich quick schemes, books that tell you the secret of life... all created by humans with finite and incredibly short lifespans. How can a person who has been conscious for only 60 years explain to me the meaning of life? I find it folly to believe them...
@Whodisdeya Just because people believe ridiculous, unprovable "theories" in blind belief.... really doesn't prove much of anything. Again, your logic seems to be, "Well, if we don't know it, it's god." No. It is much more likely it is an explainable force we have not yet identified than a mystical deity. I am not telling you the meaning of life, just facts. Hint: There is none. If there is , it's 42, or might as well be, because it's as arbitrary an answer as the question itself is.
@someperson346 You say "It is much more likely" again, you don't know WHAT is more likely. You want me to accept what you say and go past it like I won't point it out. You have no idea what is more likely. Scientists with multiple doctorates from all over the world STILL have no idea what is more likely. The only people who know are the people with strong opinions. You don't know if there's no meaning to life man, it's just your opinion, matter of fact tones don't mean facts.
@Whodisdeya someperson346 said much more likely, and it is. We know what is more likely since we take from cases where we (humanity) have asker ourselves; is this gods doing or something elses? By far, the number of cases where god has been proven the reason is less than the number of cases where something else has proven to be the reason.
It is a fact:
Somethings work / (Gods work + somethings work) > Gods work / (Gods work + somethings work)
@Whodisdeya This is me from my other account. I just want to end this here, as it is getting us nowhere. I wish you well, and a long, happy life. Keep on believing what you believe.
@someperson346 I'm not saying they are not important to ecology, obviously that's true. But us killing and eating animals is not going to have a large effect on our global environment. I understand that everything works together, you are explaining something that they explained in 6th grade. The fact is, we eat them, nothing will change much. They are only involuntarily useful.
@someperson346 Sad little cult? Lol, there are more Deist Scientists than Atheist scientists... I think your cult is the little one. Many many scientists that you get your proofs and theories from that you defend were Deists, so what do you have to say about that? Atheists have no plan, no loyalty, and a lot of them have no idea how to conduct themselves as people. Atheism will always be a small sect, because the majority of people know it's just blind rebellion.
@Whodisdeya That's an appeal to authority. As long as they cannot justify their beliefs, their professions are irrelevant. I know plenty of atheists who are good, honest people, more so than some Christians. More Christians/Muslims/etc. have killed IN THE NAME OF THEIR RELIGION than atheists. It's not blind rebellion, it's a thorough examination of facts. Many Founding Fathers were deists because to be an atheist back then was to be ostracized. Look up the Great Enlightenment, they <3ed science.
@someperson346 They weren't real Christians if now, in the time of the new covenant, they are killing in the name of Jesus. They are just another evil person using Religion as a tool to get what they want. All real Christians know this to be true. Real Christians rebuke war, murder, and anything that is in opposition to the Golden Rule. Please.... it's EASY to say they hid their Atheism and that they really didn't believe God.... you have NO PROOF of that, just like you say I have no proof.
@someperson346 I love Science.... I pay attention to it and it has always been one of my favorite things to partake in recreationally. I'm no dummy, I understand what you are saying. I just don't believe that everything came from nothing and Atheists STILL have no proof for the things that they claim... it's a blind belief just as much as Religion is, and as soon as you understand that the easier it will be for everyone to get along, instead of this infighting, when we should be together.
@Whodisdeya No, I don't think atheists have proof either. Saying there is no god is as blind a leap of faith as saying there IS a god. Religion can't necessarily be proven in any sort of way, except as a personal revelation, I suppose. So that's just my input. When it comes to things like the origin of the Universe, we're still grappling with experimental stuff like quantum mechanics which the average person can't hope to understand (me included.) So.... we'll just have to wait and see.
@someperson346 What facts? You keep talking about all these facts but you never present ANY facts nor point me in the direction that you are referring to. You talk about me not being able to justify my beliefs, but you can't even back yours up. At least I understand my beliefs... I know what the Great Enlightenment is man, I went to school. I'm not a Christian who thinks the world is evil and rejects all things Science. I reject things that sound stupid.
@Whodisdeya Radiocarbon dating. Because we know the half-life of Carbon-14, an isotope of Carbon-12, we can measure how long it has decayed in fossilized organisms and thus trace them back thousands of years back. The fact that we are seeing the light from galaxies tens of thousands of light years away proves the Universe must be older than 6,000 years old. I would add citations and discuss more, but again, you refuse to take this out onto a legit debate site.
@someperson346 I don't think the Earth is 6,000 years old, any Creationist who says that is just a retard. I understand Radiocarbon dating, but I have actually read something from this Japanese Scientist about that, saying that it isn't as accurate as the initially thought it was, and can be way off.
@Whodisdeya Someone who posts more than 5 times on the same video is either self conscious in their belief, or just blatantly trolling. I'll take your bait, for now, and say that you clearly have not read any legitimate material on Evolution nor do you understand the basic ideas behind it. To say that it's false because we don't have the "missing link" is beyond ignorant when our DNA structure is 99% similar to chimps. Chances of that? About the same as winning the lottery 10 times.
@Pasdnam Oh no, you took the bait. I'm about to get owned by SCIENCE SON!
I posted that a long time ago. Pray tell, what legitimate material on Evolution have you read? I guess I'm just too stupid to understand the "basic ideas" behind Evolution. You only make yourself look dumb speaking so pretentiously. I bet you think you're about to come in here and own me verbally huh? Guess what, I'm an educated Christian, and you're pretty much fucked.
@Whodisdeya Centuries of belief. Ding ding. Key word. Belief. Not theory. Not paradigm. Just blind belief. Okay, you want to support it. Give me proof. Saying, "We don't know such and such " is not proof. Why are there so many religions worldwide then, all believing different things? Attributing something we DON'T know (and we know a lot) to a random deity is pretty fallacious. Just because you live in ignorance doesn't mean all humans know as much.
@someperson346 He is the one who argued with me I don't have to show you proof. You say science is always evolving, yet you can never give me a link, an article, or anything to prove why you are arguing... you just blindly believe it in the same way you say that I do. Give me a book or an article to prove what you are saying... all you say is that Science is constantly evolving, but you're not a scientist and you have no clue... I'm waiting for your proof, something....
@Whodisdeya Science is not a religion, because it is composed of facts, theories and hypotheses, which are provable and observable, unlike your sad little sideshow. I label things as true or false based on whether they have been proven true or false! Unlike a religious person, I do not base things on blind face. I look at peer-reviewed, accepted scientific studies and their data. I read scientific journals, I have seen cells and bacteria with my own eyes. Can you say as much? I think not
why must we all dwell so much on a "god" of any type? cant we all just live and fucking get along without killing each other? FUCK sake.. FORGET RELIGION .. THERE IS NO SUCH THING :) all just made up bull shit to confuse us all.. All you need to do it think for yourself.. tis what we were given brains for.. BUT LOVE THE FRONTALOT ANY DAMN WAYS... :P
why must we all dwell so much on a "god" of any type? cant we all just live and fucking get along without killing each other? FUCK sake.. FORGET RELIGION .. THERE IS NO SUCH THING :) all just made up bull shit to confuse us all.. All you need to do it think for yourself.. tis what we were given brains for..
in fact, start with the bible and move on from there... as an educated man (and atheist) I'm really sick of people (mis)quoting something they "claim" to believe in and have never actually read... (I HAVE read your "holy" book, and a lot of the zealot types are getting their quotations very wrong)
Also FYI the Christian, Judaic and Muslim faiths share the same God...
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH if Evolution was true, then how could their could be order within these cycles, how could there be life and order from chaos without a bigger and greater God to keep things together. Also you carry around proof and evidence around with you 24/7, just go look up "Laminin" on Google Images, the shape of Laminin is no mere coincidence, it has been shaped that way by the (my) christian God, who loves everyone on this earth, regardless of their choices or opinions, He just hates Sin.
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH which in turn makes the machines turn out a false reading, saying that the earth is billions of years old, when in fact it is no more then 8,000 years old, as for proof to support a Personal God, my proof is in nature, the oceans, the forests and jungles, the deserts, anything and everything that is not man-made, the complexity of the order of the animal kingdom, the order of the ocean, and the order of plants,
While I am an atheist myself, I can think of a way evolution can go with religion.
God made a batch of play-doh that we call single-cell organisms, and started fucking with them until they became plants and animals.
He started out doing this only on Earth by random chance, and depending, he either thought it was a failure and didn't do it again, or he started from scratch on other planets.
Or perhaps he started out doing this on various planets, just none anywhere near each other.
@sterlingdragon123 I feel the same way, except I'm a Christian. I think over time Adam came along after he was creating things for awhile, and then the rest is history.
You have no evidence for this. You might as well claim transdimensional pink unicorns started the Universe and you'd have just as much evidence as for the Christian God. None. Your personal God is an infinite improbability, just like the transdimensional pink unicorn. You have no way to even suggest your God is more true than Allah, my pink unicorn or any fantasy.
This is not hating, this is presenting facts. I get what you are trying to do but I don't get why. You are not religious but you are making some crackpot theory about how evolution, an solid theory, could take place in religion, pure out fiction. Why? What's the purpose? That's like contemplating how invisible teacups orbiting the sun influence Pythagoras' theorem.
You're illogical, and I'm not going to lie or shut up because you don't want to hear it. No one has ever made any logical argument to me for belief in a personal God.
@SSTTEEAALLTTHH you're presenting of "facts", the Evolution Theory, has about as much solid ground under it as, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, "Pink Unicorns creating the universe" or two missiles suddenly turning into a blue whale and a bowl of petunias, the data that the scientific community presents "proof to support the Evolution Theory" is collected by machines that can't get past the salty sea water on rocks, or other materials covering the ground,
@Whodisdeya Because we finally find ourselves in a time in history where we are not being burned at the stake or stoned to death by your "peaceful" religions for opening our mouths and speaking honestly.
@TheSkepticalApe Lol, nobody has ever burned you at the stake get out of here with that emotional heart string crap. I don't remember Atheist's ever doing anything peaceful around the world... in fact all I can remember is mass murders. Atheists don't even have a plan. They just think we die and that's it. The majority of people don't believe that so pray tell, what makes Religion so foolish? Christians were stoned and burned sometimes too you know.
@Whodisdeya People are not being tortured to death IN THE FIRST WORLD for not being Christian, but look at what's happening in Africa still. The only reason it isn't happening here anymore is because we beat back your violent theocracy loving co-religionists to the point that they can't publicly pull that shit anymore. Mass murder? Yeah religions are not known for that at all! And what makes religion so foolish? BECAUSE IT'S A BELIEF IN MAGIC! Grow up already, magic isn't real!
@TheSkepticalApe Your belief is your own, keep it man. Just because you've never seen a miracle doesn't mean it isn't real. Magick comes from the devil, so no, I don't believe in magic at all.
@Whodisdeya If you claim that some god *POOFED* the universe into existence, that's magic. Are you claiming that your god is the devil now? Just because you want to remain ignorant of reality and believe in magic sky daddies who perform magical miracles doesn't make them in the least bit plausible, possible, or true. If you want people to accept these insane claims, you have to provide evidence. Without evidence, we're not going to drink your magic Kool-Aid.
@TheSkepticalApe I'm not asking you to lol, you're weird. You act like your hate me or something and you don't know anything about me besides I'm a Christian. You act all wise like you have some amazing concept of reality and why we're here, but the way you act makes you look stupid as hell. Your way of thinking isn't the only way to think man, you think you're right just like everyone else does. The sooner you see that, the sooner you'll be able to live your own life and stay outta mine.
@Whodisdeya I don't care if you think I'm weird, as being considered weird by someone who believes in magic could be construed by some (myself included) as a compliment. I don't hate you, as I've never met you, but I do hate texts that try (and fail) to justify genocide, racism, misogyny, homophobia, and anti-scientific thinking. And I'm getting into your life? Who's co-religionists are trying to legislate their religion on the rest of us? Hint: they're the majority religion in this country.
@TheSkepticalApe 1.) Don't parade yourself as a wise and informed individual when using rhetoric such as calling me a believer of magic to try and bolster your argument. I never said I believed in magic and you have twisted my words, and now acting as if YOUR OWN twist of my statements is an actual point. Don't try that with me, I'm not dumb, and "scientists' that try to pull bs like that give science a bad name. You're so into proof? Then drop all the rhetoric and teach us then.
@Whodisdeya Dude, supernatural, BY DEFINITION, is magic! If you believe in supernatural miracles, then you believe in magic. How else could supernatural events breaking all the laws of physics be described?
Magic: n. 1. The art that purports to control or forecast natural events, effects, or forces by invoking the supernatural.
adj. 1. Of, relating to, or invoking the supernatural
Learn the definition of words before you speak with such certainty about their meaning.
@TheSkepticalApe lol, man you try to be so slick. You use words well, but your problem is I never even said the word supernatural. That is how you define my belief system, as supernatural. You want me to get into an argument of words with you and definition man, you want a huge web of semantics and you want to stay away from the real truth which is, that I never said I believe in magic. You do realize I know your game right, regardless of how much you try to hide it.
@Whodisdeya How is Christianity not a religion based in supernaturalism? If you don't believe in the supernatural, then you don't actually accept the basis of the religion! And you try and tell me you read the Bible. I call bullshit on that one. No way you could come away from that without thinking the religion is based on the supernatural.

no one has those answers and its complete speculation of how it all started, and if your so convinced with your whole god theory who created him and so fourth.

Not really.

@zimruleshumanity you assume we were always already here? Or that we popped into exsistance and inbreeding skipped the first dozen generations.
Richarddwc 1 month ago
@Richarddwc so then how about the monkey's? If it wasn't possible for us to have already been here, how was it possible for the monkey's to have already been here?
zimruleshumanity 1 month ago
@zimruleshumanity ... -_- you really dont know how evolution works do you. there was something that evolved to monkey and so fourth. Evolution has been proven as we have seen new species appear right before us on a consistent basis. The only argument you could possibly have is that you didnt see us evolve so it musnt have happened at all. Thats right, gods just a pokemon trainer who hit the B-Button.
Richarddwc 1 month ago
@Richarddwc how did the object that evolved into the monkey get there? And if you're planning to say the 'big bang' theory, how did those objects that exploded get there?
zimruleshumanity 1 month ago
Creationists believe that to debunk evolution is to validate their belief. Far from it. At the very best, it could argue that there is no answer and any random theory is valid. The leap they want to make- that evolution is not proven therefore there must have been a deliberate act by a sentient force to bring about life- is massive and totally unfounded. And incalculably more of a shot in the dark than evolution. What it is not is in any way scientific. That's why it doesn't belong in school.
N1te5hade 1 month ago
@zimruleshumanity First cause isn't a very good line of reasoning to peruse. Science seeks to look back as far as it can, to hypothetically posit what came before with no evidence to support invites infinite regress. If your answer is God, you invite the question, "Then what created God?" There is no end to this line of reasoning, it's turtles all the way down.

mylescloutier 2 weeks ago
@Richarddwc Monkeys are actually cousins, not ancestors to humans. I appreciate the arguement you're trying to put fourth, but your inadequacies are giving your detractors a perception of a weaker argument than actually exists. I suggest reading "Greatest Show On Earth" by Richard Dawkins. It's specifically written to help address a lot of the ignorant questions you're responding to.

Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya You can't measure love, it's an emotion. Consciousness is a function of our neurons, and the electrical signals they send to each other in billions of combinations. Premonitions and visions probably stem from your subconscious, more likely than ESP. Science doesn't know anything, but again, to attributed unknown (as of now) things to unknown forces is fallacious. We are learning and discovering more day by day.

Epyx911 6 months ago
@Epyx911 You craft a straw man as you hypocritically accuse others of doing the same - though of course you add on an insult to their intelligence while you do so. Or myth. Or random extraordinary claims.

Whodisdeya 5 months ago
@Whodisdeya What the fuck are you blabbering about? Of course I don't understand purity of good and evil, they don't exist! They're abstract concepts, unlike measurable, provable, recordable, observable Science. Jesus Christ. Get it through your head. EVERYBODY DOES LIVE AND DIE BY SCIENCE! The energy you use daily? Governed by science. The cells your body is made of? Ditto, Science. The formation of the Universe, the planet? Science. Your mom's egg and your dad's sperm? Science. Death? Science.
thedude346supporter 5 months ago
@thedude346supporter They don't exist to you, just because you think they don't exist doesn't mean they don't. Science always contradicts itself. It's up to you to prove the non-existance of God, in the same way it was up to the round earth scientists to prove the Earth was round. You want to challenge centuries of belief, then prove why we are all wrong and you are right... you can't.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya You just don't get it, do you? IT DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER OR NOT I BELIEVE THEY EXIST. It's the fact there's NO PROOF that they don't exist. Belief plays zero role in reality. Science is constantly evolving and bettering itself, unlike your sad little cult. The brilliant Greeks (most of them) believed giants in the sky made lightning and thunder. It is YOUR burden of proof, because you are claiming a ridiculous idea to begin with!

2) I use the Scientific method. When I search, I find answers.
3) My God, you are messed up. Of course the answers are right there. No, not in the Bible, silly, right in front of us. But we can understand and find them with Science. Lolz
someperson346 4 months ago
@someperson346 I find answers all the time. You assume I'm stupid because I'm religious, and it will always cause you a problem until you realize that people think a million different types of ways and Science is just another way to prove a few things, everything was meant to work hand and hand, not against each other. As long as you think in terms of everything has to be hard, solid facts to be real, you are never going to find anything that truly matters.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya Science isn't just another way to prove things, it's the ONLY way to prove things. If everything was made to work hand in hand then why the fuck did your god make the food chain.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya I wasn't even going to respond to your nonsense until I saw your idiotic presumption that I have been an atheist all my life. I was raised in a very religious Roman Catholic family and remained one until about a year after my confirmation, so about 16 and a half years of my life. My mom goes to church 4 times a week and both of my parents are in a bible study group and a religious revival group. So before you go spouting off nonsense again perhaps you should ask some questions first.
MrWafflebeater 4 months ago

Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@MrWafflebeater Everything works together for good. Animals are here for our benefit. He made the animals for us. Why? Because they don't do anything but eat and kill. They have no use in terms of real progression in the world. We can make tools, give gifts, help the needy, build building, we have ideas... why do you even lump us with the food chain, and animals. We are not even close to animals we are so far past them it's not even funny, they have no chance.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya Animals evolved, they were not created. They play a very important role in the global ecology, forming a vast, complex web of inter-connected networks and niches in different environments. We share 95% of our DNA with chimpanzees. I'd say that's pretty close. Physiologically, we're no different.
someperson346 4 months ago
@someperson346 You think animals evolved you don't know shit. I've been looking into Evolution a lot and they don't even have the full fossil record to prove that it even happened... there aren't any fossils that prove Evolution, Evolution cannot even be proven...
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@someperson346 Psychologically, we're no different than Chimps? Well, if Science tells you that then go ahead and believe it. I've never seen a Chimp build a skyscraper, though. I believe in Evolution, but I do not believe that everything evolved from a Fish. I don't believe in The Big Bang, because the way it is explained makes no sense, and when someone can't explain something, they say it's too complicated. "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." Einstein.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya It's not a function of what Science "tells" one. It is a function of what is true. Chimps have not the mental capacity to build a skyscraper, but think about it. They have similar body structures. The same bones, same DNA, same most of everything. Chimpanzee and human skulls are astonishingly similar, and the bipedal functions they display are impressive (they don't walk on two legs all the time, but have the capacity to some of the time.)
someperson346 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya No, I don't think live evolved from fish. I think (and this thought is not blind, but backed up by some measure of support/evidence) that life evolved from cells, which makes sense, as we are all composed of cells. It takes only a microscope to see that. Those cells then evolved first to live in the ocean, as fossil record has shown, then develop to live on land as well (see intermediate fossils).
someperson346 4 months ago
@someperson346 Well yea, it makes sense that it would be cells sure (from a Evolutionists standpoint), because if we came from only fish, then someone or something had to create the fish. I truly believe in Evolution, I just do not think that it explains how we ended up here, and in the state we are in. I do believe that organisms evolve, and only an idiot would think otherwise, but I do not think that Evolution is that far reaching that it is the solution for our growth from cell, to human.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya We don't fully understand the Big Bang, that's true, but there is some evidence of it (see the microwave background.) An excellent National Geographic article, as well as several other articles explain this, but again, as we are on YouTube, I cannot link them.
someperson346 4 months ago
@someperson346 I just think it's weird, because from what I've read, "Some kind of energy passed through a cloud of gases, creating an explosion that created the Universe." Things don't just come from nothing... that energy had to come from somewhere. Something must have been here forever, I just don't believe that everything could have come from nothing, it makes no sense.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@someperson346 That being said, I greatly respect your opinion, and if this was in real life, we could be friends because you actually RESPECT my Religion, instead of calling me a dumb Christian sheep. I had an Atheist friend and he was awesome, we would share our beliefs with each other, and we were friends because we didn't insult each others' beliefs. Sorry if I did insult yours, I get that was when I'm attacked for my beliefs, though.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@someperson346 Why could that energy that passed through that cloud been energy from God? Why is it so hard to believe that we were created? People will believe in Aliens, Theories they've never seen tested, they'll believe in insane get rich quick schemes, books that tell you the secret of life... all created by humans with finite and incredibly short lifespans. How can a person who has been conscious for only 60 years explain to me the meaning of life? I find it folly to believe them...
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya Could it be energy from God? Yes. Do we have any proof, at all, of energy from God? No, we don't.
PISTOLcm 4 months ago
@PISTOLcm We don't even have any proof that the theory itself happened, so...
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya Just because people believe ridiculous, unprovable "theories" in blind belief.... really doesn't prove much of anything. Again, your logic seems to be, "Well, if we don't know it, it's god." No. It is much more likely it is an explainable force we have not yet identified than a mystical deity. I am not telling you the meaning of life, just facts. Hint: There is none. If there is , it's 42, or might as well be, because it's as arbitrary an answer as the question itself is.
someperson346 4 months ago
@someperson346 You say "It is much more likely" again, you don't know WHAT is more likely. You want me to accept what you say and go past it like I won't point it out. You have no idea what is more likely. Scientists with multiple doctorates from all over the world STILL have no idea what is more likely. The only people who know are the people with strong opinions. You don't know if there's no meaning to life man, it's just your opinion, matter of fact tones don't mean facts.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya someperson346 said much more likely, and it is. We know what is more likely since we take from cases where we (humanity) have asker ourselves; is this gods doing or something elses? By far, the number of cases where god has been proven the reason is less than the number of cases where something else has proven to be the reason.
It is a fact:
Somethings work / (Gods work + somethings work) > Gods work / (Gods work + somethings work)
Of course I'm only counting the PROVEN reasons

@someperson346 I'm not saying they are not important to ecology, obviously that's true. But us killing and eating animals is not going to have a large effect on our global environment. I understand that everything works together, you are explaining something that they explained in 6th grade. The fact is, we eat them, nothing will change much. They are only involuntarily useful.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@someperson346 Sad little cult? Lol, there are more Deist Scientists than Atheist scientists... I think your cult is the little one. Many many scientists that you get your proofs and theories from that you defend were Deists, so what do you have to say about that? Atheists have no plan, no loyalty, and a lot of them have no idea how to conduct themselves as people. Atheism will always be a small sect, because the majority of people know it's just blind rebellion.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya That's an appeal to authority. As long as they cannot justify their beliefs, their professions are irrelevant. I know plenty of atheists who are good, honest people, more so than some Christians. More Christians/Muslims/etc. have killed IN THE NAME OF THEIR RELIGION than atheists. It's not blind rebellion, it's a thorough examination of facts. Many Founding Fathers were deists because to be an atheist back then was to be ostracized. Look up the Great Enlightenment, they <3ed science.
someperson346 4 months ago
@someperson346 They weren't real Christians if now, in the time of the new covenant, they are killing in the name of Jesus. They are just another evil person using Religion as a tool to get what they want. All real Christians know this to be true. Real Christians rebuke war, murder, and anything that is in opposition to the Golden Rule. Please.... it's EASY to say they hid their Atheism and that they really didn't believe God.... you have NO PROOF of that, just like you say I have no proof.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@someperson346 I love Science.... I pay attention to it and it has always been one of my favorite things to partake in recreationally. I'm no dummy, I understand what you are saying. I just don't believe that everything came from nothing and Atheists STILL have no proof for the things that they claim... it's a blind belief just as much as Religion is, and as soon as you understand that the easier it will be for everyone to get along, instead of this infighting, when we should be together.
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya No, I don't think atheists have proof either. Saying there is no god is as blind a leap of faith as saying there IS a god. Religion can't necessarily be proven in any sort of way, except as a personal revelation, I suppose. So that's just my input. When it comes to things like the origin of the Universe, we're still grappling with experimental stuff like quantum mechanics which the average person can't hope to understand (me included.) So.... we'll just have to wait and see.
someperson346 4 months ago

I would add citations and discuss more, but again, you refuse to take this out onto a legit debate site.
someperson346 4 months ago

Pasdnam 2 months ago
@Pasdnam Oh no, you took the bait. I'm about to get owned by SCIENCE SON!
I posted that a long time ago. Pray tell, what legitimate material on Evolution have you read? I guess I'm just too stupid to understand the "basic ideas" behind Evolution. You only make yourself look dumb speaking so pretentiously. I bet you think you're about to come in here and own me verbally huh? Guess what, I'm an educated Christian, and you're pretty much fucked.
Whodisdeya 2 months ago
@Pasdnam
Funny how everytime the skeletons of "missing links" are found, a new "missing link" is created in between the two.
Deluded Evolution deniers. On par with Holocaust deniers for me.
Lallanananaaaa 2 months ago
@Whodisdeya Centuries of belief. Ding ding. Key word. Belief. Not theory. Not paradigm. Just blind belief. Okay, you want to support it. Give me proof. Saying, "We don't know such and such " is not proof. Why are there so many religions worldwide then, all believing different things? Attributing something we DON'T know (and we know a lot) to a random deity is pretty fallacious. Just because you live in ignorance doesn't mean all humans know as much.
someperson346 4 months ago
@someperson346 He is the one who argued with me I don't have to show you proof. You say science is always evolving, yet you can never give me a link, an article, or anything to prove why you are arguing... you just blindly believe it in the same way you say that I do. Give me a book or an article to prove what you are saying... all you say is that Science is constantly evolving, but you're not a scientist and you have no clue... I'm waiting for your proof, something....
Whodisdeya 4 months ago
@Whodisdeya Science is not a religion, because it is composed of facts, theories and hypotheses, which are provable and observable, unlike your sad little sideshow. I label things as true or false based on whether they have been proven true or false! Unlike a religious person, I do not base things on blind face. I look at peer-reviewed, accepted scientific studies and their data. I read scientific journals, I have seen cells and bacteria with my own eyes. Can you say as much? I think not

in fact, start with the bible and move on from there... as an educated man (and atheist) I'm really sick of people (mis)quoting something they "claim" to believe in and have never actually read...

Yetimen1 9 months ago

That's like contemplating how invisible teacups orbiting the sun influence Pythagoras' theorem.

Whodisdeya 9 months ago
@Whodisdeya People are not being tortured to death IN THE FIRST WORLD for not being Christian, but look at what's happening in Africa still. The only reason it isn't happening here anymore is because we beat back your violent theocracy loving co-religionists to the point that they can't publicly pull that shit anymore. Mass murder? Yeah religions are not known for that at all! And what makes religion so foolish? BECAUSE IT'S A BELIEF IN MAGIC! Grow up already, magic isn't real!
TheSkepticalApe 9 months ago

The sooner you see that, the sooner you'll be able to live your own life and stay outta mine.
Whodisdeya 9 months ago
@Whodisdeya I don't care if you think I'm weird, as being considered weird by someone who believes in magic could be construed by some (myself included) as a compliment. @TheSkepticalApe 1.) Don't parade yourself as a wise and informed individual when using rhetoric such as calling me a believer of magic to try and bolster your argument.
TheSkepticalApe 9 months ago
@TheSkepticalApe lol, man you try to be so slick. You use words well, but your problem is I never even said the word supernatural. That is how you define my belief system, as supernatural. You want me to get into an argument of words with you and definition man, you want a huge web of semantics and you want to stay away from the real truth which is, that I never said I believe in magic. You do realize I know your game right, regardless of how much you try to hide it.
Whodisdeya 9 months ago
@Whodisdeya How is Christianity not a religion based in supernaturalism? If you don't believe in the supernatural, then you don't actually accept the basis of the religion! And you try and tell me you read the Bible. I call bullshit on that one. No way you could come away from that without thinking the religion is based on the supernatural.
