Nice! I went to spot planes in Atlanta airport yesterday, and I saw 1 delta 763, one baseline 777-232, a delta a330, Korean air 777-3B5ER, and one asiana airlines cargo 747-48EF.however, I was unable to capture it because I left my camcorder at home by accident.
@JDenise47 Delta Airlines dont have any orders for the A380... i think Their 708 active aircrafts, and in total 127 orders are more than enough for delta to handle the traffic they have! :D :D They have orders for 100 737-900ER's,2767-300ER,18 787-8's and 9 MD-90 aircrafts... Why would Delta Airlines order the A380 when they have planes doing their routes perfectly... and on top of that why should they order the A380 when they have 318 long haul planes??
A great video; I'm a middle aged man who had never flown on a 747 until this past year, and I freely admit I am smitten with them, perhaps because there is that tiny little part of me that refuses to believe such a large and heavy thing can actually fly--I find them majestic, amazing, and indeed powerful. I found myself standing at the far back of the coach seats, where there is room to stand and feeling as though it were a transcendent experience.
@BowBeforeTheHobo mrbenjamin is wrong, the reason the flaps are down is simple the plane is heavy with the flaps up means less lift so the plane would have to lift off at higher speeds and will demand more runway so with the flaps down the plane can take off at slower speeds needing less runway length than it would with the flaps up and strong headwinds also help
@houshidar558 Thats the logic of what makes the flaps work, what the flaps really do is enlarge and increase the camber of the wings which creates a larger lower pressure at the top which generates more lift BUT this also creates turbulence and drag a by product of lift.
@faostube yes of course your 100% right but i was explaining to him the real truth your information i forgot to mention to him about flaps characteristics but what he has been told is that a 747 needs to take off with flaps because its big.
@BowBeforeTheHobo When on takeoff the pilot has to lower the flaps to about 5-10 degrees in order to generate more lift for takeoff. Flaps produce more lift but cause drag, thats why they are not fully extended and are also used for landing.
Please pardon mebut I don't know what MSP Airport stands, for. Probably Pto. Vallarta México, cause in the exquisite and overwelming take off I heard dogs barking !!!! Well. The take of was luxurious !!!!!! What an Aircraft !!!!
@MrZulu2065 And what about the pollution created generating the electricity to charge your Chevy Volt? lol, we always create more problems by solving old ones.
Hey Cessna154! You need to give other MSP spotters a chance at some views! It seems like your the only one when you search! All of the others are hidden behind your videos! Stick with you Flight Sim videos and let people like Delta747fan, Helicopterpilot16, Jonahair747, Mavrick967, and nwaairlinkazo and all others a chance!
@dskxalive weird beceause when i went to Bangladesh, i took off in Heatrow with a 747-400 and when i came back i also came with a 747-400 (and landed in Heatrow offcourse)
This Pilot Took Risk actually. In Worst Weather Condition, if he Took-off Like that, then the plane would come donw(i.e stall) anyway, its a nice video.
yes I have but it has some problems...it was meant to be a cargo jet but the cargo was too heavy for it so they decided to make it a passenger....almost all the airlines have complains like the emirates....they fount burned wires in the left wing
For 30 years I watched aircraft on the 12R glide path as they passed over my home on the corner of 40th and Monterey in Edina. Truly an amazing sight, especially the 747's, which seemed to float in the air as they passed overhead. The old 737's made the most noise as they climbed out, heading northwest. Thanks for posting, as it brought back these memories...
@maddog00005 most likely cause the plane is loaded down with fuel and the runway is shorter than the usual flaps requirement, so lower the flaps more and you get a slower and earlier takeoff...
FlawsicHD, 747s vary in weight by models but the 747-400s carry around 200 tons of fuel alone. I think they gross out around 875,000 to 910,000 in the various -400 models. The new 747-8 will be around 975,000 and carry over 60,000 gals. of jet A!
@FlawsicHD That thing weighs about 200 tons, you don't find it amazing that something that heavy can just lift into the sky and fly away? You see a plane and aren't bothered, these people see the sheer amazing physics and human ingenuity at play. Who's really the idiot here?
