If they are tax exempt and they are using public services like roads, fire, police, sewage and other things - then who is paying for those services? I believe that you and I are paying for what churches are taking for free.
So, yes, if a church or mosque or temple is tax exempt then they are getting a free ride and the YOU AN I are paying for it.
Okay, where is Hovind's evidence? The bible? Let's say God told a man how he created the Universe in all it's complexity. How is the mind of man going to comprehend it? Either the man gets it all wrong or God simplifies it so his tiny desert dwelling brain can understand it. Either way, that we all come from Noah's family and yet we do not all look alike is proof in itself that evolution is a fact. Where did the variation come from?

If you didn't know what Red Bull was , then if i asked you if anyone has given a specific definition for it, of course your going to say no. I could effectively then say if i knew you didn't know the specific meaning of red bull.

Hovind doesn't like the idea that his taxes are paying to teach evolution. Interesting. Does his church pay taxes? If not, then his church is supported by MY taxes.
Actually Hovind is serving 10 years in prison currently precisely for not paying his taxes. I find it funny he worries so much about what the tax dollars he evades are being spent on :P
Uhhh...actually his church is NOT supported by your taxes, neither is any other Christian denomination, except maybe for the Orthodox Church in some European countries and the Catholic Church, and I am not so sure about the Catholic Church either. Churches raise their own funds in order to exist and function. So get your facts straight. Just a thought..! ;-)

I don't know what mythical realm he is living in, but with about 4 seconds of research you can find a good definition of species.
What he means is that if you don't currently know what the scientific definition of species is, then trying to pull it out of thin air is hard.
