  • Five heads just exploded at the sound of incredible music.........

  • Five of the seven Nefarious Saints have found this video apparently.

  • ehm this game made me play this type of games and also finel fantasy. the name does not matter realy because it's just an awesome game

  • needs moar cowbell

  • 5 people seem to dislike saints row.

  • ahhh. man. this has to be top 10 of best rpg battle musics of all time.

  • still cant say i have betten this game smh

  • It's a tragedy~ that the creators of Final Fantasy finally break free of the franchise and go into business for themselves, make a work of art, and gamers give them a big fuck you for their efforts just because it didn't have "Final Fantasy" on the cover.

  • @strikerk well i don't see where the tragedy is.

it got sold over 800,000 times, how could that be called "giving a big fuck you"?

  • @LinkEX I don't know~ Mistwalker saying they've cancelled ideas of making sequels to this game and pretty much seen as a financial loss to the company could be a sign of what I mean. It's arguably one of the last great epic RPGs of the decade. Definitely did not get what we got from LO from FFXIII. Yet that game made more than 5x what this did. Gamers whined to SE about nonlinear gameplay in that game, yet when games like LO fail like this, who can blame them for making FFXIII what it was?

  • @strikerk Could also have been that it's Xbawx exclusive, but then that's just me.

  • @Dracowrath1

Even if it wasn't x-box exclusive, I doubt it would have made as much as FFXIII. LO is the better game by far but, fact is, a new IP just can't compete against a well-known one. Think about it, how long did it take the Final Fantasy series to get to the point where it was selling over a million copies? Also, even though I personally love JRPGs, the genre just isn't that popular with newer gamers. Unless you're a well known series like the FF series, you probably won't sell.

  • @mengAlexandervang unfortunately that is true.

  • @strikerk Thankfully I am not one of those people. Lost Odyssey probably has the best soundtrack of any game on the Xbox360, in my opinion, and I consider it some of Nobuo's best work

  • @strikerk btw in case u didnt know they still make games for square enix they didnt break free lol they just made a game for a different publisher

  • @fuckenmovies9494 they have their own studio dumbass

  • @MrKevinownsU they do but they didnt quote on quote "break free"

  • @strikerk that was sakaguchis mistake for making it for the eggbox

  • @strikerk Granted, I still and will always love Final Fantasy. This, however, brings a whole new beginning.

  • @MorelloZzT7 It could have. We'll never see a sequel to this game sadly. :<

  • @strikerk Agreed. Lost Odyssey is an absolute masterpiece.

  • Gongorahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Who says piano music can't be epic?

  • thx Pete for letting me hearing this awesome song

  • Just sold my copy of this. I liked it. The first boss was a bit difficult and there was a train or tank or something that continually kicked my butt. I came back a year or two later and sailed through the rest of the game except "The backyard."

  • I complete love this game, I beat everything, optional stuff and all, except for one thing, which was the DLC (downloadable content), the trick to that boss is so tedious I haven't done it yet, cuz aparently Sed needs to be a decent level, and I barely used him. so I've been putting it off...sucks that ur timed with that boss. but Lost Odyessy has the most amazing music, this game is my 2nd fav when it comes to music and story, right under Final Fantasy VII

  • xD I'm such a nerd. I just finished my fourth complete playthrough of this game, all optional bosses and everything... But man, favorite game of all time or what ;-; makes me want to sob for how amazing it is XDDD

  • Gotta love this...

  • I love the part at 0:24, it's an obvious reference to Super Mario RPG. I don't remember which track it was, but it is exactly like this. Ever since SMRPG came out, other Super Mario games have used this line, especially Super Mario Sunshine.

  • Such a superb game just going through it again after not playing it for a couple of years. I wish they made a second LO game :(

  • Love this game, got 1100/1100 gamer score for this.

  • it seems 2 people dont like pickles

  • best track in the game by a mile.

  • 1:56 just took One-Wing Angel over it's knee and showed it who's the man of boss theme's.

  • 2 people hate James Bond films.

  • Me again... Can't stress how good this song is, Makes me feel all fuzzy!

  • Hard game, but the harder it is, the more it makes you wanna play it!

Im Lvl 70, game is outstandingly THE best game in history for me, Epic cutscenes, Epic Characters, Epic Music, This game has it all!

  • awesome song with awesome game!, and now i feel like playing this game again while looking forward to the release of The Last Story.

  • i HATE!!!!!!! the five bosses you fight out on the sea, i sometimes get to sleep the 1 group but get raped by the next group i try.... but i LOVED the story up until then

  • I can definitely say without a doubt this is one of THE hardest RPGs I've ever played xD

If you don't have at least SOME skill with RPGs, this game can AND WILL rape you

  • sounds almost exactly like James Bond a lot of the time

    not a bad thing!

  • Two words: progressive rock

  • If I was a fighter for the UFC, this will be my soundtrack.

  • The chanting part of this song is sooooooo good! When you're fighting Gongora for the first time and that part happens you know you're going to get destroyed.

  • I hate the part where the people start howling.

  • This song reminds me of Hey Bulldog by The Beatles.

  • yea lost oddysey es el mejor juego y als graifcas para el año en que se iso eran asombrosas

  • There's a song in Yoshi's Island DS that sounds just like 0:25!

  • Awesome theme... I had to turn my volume up a lot when I fought Gongora and this theme played

  • This song tells you someone is about to get their ass handed to them. (Both times it's played)

  • aw man, I love this game so far. Tolten and Sed have so manly godly skills.

Awesome story, awesome battle system, and awesome music. Can't wait to try out the dlc either. =D

  • the final battle of lost oddyseey music was epic.

  • can any one tell me whether this music was created by the same people that made the lost odyssey game

  • What?

  • When I first heard this song I quit playing the game to listen and I loved it... but at 1:52 it goes from great... to over the top epic. Adding the Choir there turns this into one of the most memorable VG tunes of all time.

  • does this theme play anywhere else besides the first fight with gongora?

  • @sidney765 When you fight the Dark Saint's in Disc 4. imo, one of the best battles ever.

  • This is pretty epic, but it doesn't beat Howl of the Departed in my book.

  • My goodness I just love the piano at the beginning and the end parts of the song.

  • lol ;/

  • This is my books just barely tops the final fantasy 7 ending, one winged angel, which I never thought was possible.

  • @KilledWithEase lolz i believe there are a select few that can crush owa. maybe...

  • @lastblade3 scratch that. owa is just too overrated. i think ffviii's soundtrack pwns it. especially the laguna battles.

  • @lastblade3 Jesus x Chuck Norris + Terminator / Solid Snake = Man With The Machine Gun

  • @Loz8900 exactly that song is epic.

  • @lastblade3 Final Fantasy VIII I think had the BEST soundtrack of Final Fantasy. Every song was just so awesome.

  • @CrazyMan03 tell me about it. i've played a few more rpgs ever since then, (grandia 1&2, radiata stories, tales of destiny 2, valkyrie profile) and i'd have to say, they come pretty close to ff8.

  • @lastblade3 Crush, I disagree. Just what kind of taste of music you like from composers. But FFVIII music was amazing, and I'll agree with the Laguna battles. : D

  • Best boss music ever, I'm pretty sure.

  • That piano part from 2:28-2:37 is incredible.

  • Who here fought gogora and owned his ass every time? Either i was good with timing when it came to the ring system or i was just a higher level. The second to last time you fight him i owned him the most though. Took like 3 hits to down him then he pulled his BS move. The ending to the game made me cry though... (No i wont spoil it for everyone)

  • yea i kicked his every time too hahaha

  • 0:25-0:33 reminds me of some super mario sunshine music

  • That, Sonic CD, and Super Mario RPG music

  • @supershowsBackUP Same here.

  • @supershowsBackUP

    Sunshine FTW!

  • i cried a bit too. You know that person could have tripped him and pushed him in but nope that person had to go all the way.

  • Well I fought him when I was rediculously high level with Kaim and Seth, so I pwned him. I suppose its hard for the people that blitz through it.

I also made the stupid, stupid move that you should never do in RPGs. I hated Ming and Sarah so much that I never trained them. I found myself facing Gongora with level 45 mages :[

    Nobody do that!

  • If by "Plow" through it you mean play the game for like 40-50 hours, then yes i plowed through it. All my characters were minimum 55 i think. And on top of that i did all of the side bosses lol.

Its hard to beat the game unless you do all OR most of those.

  • I meant just rush through to complete the game quickly, if you rented it, for example.

I know what you mean, it would have been much more difficult if I didn't have the nullify all elements item, and others.

  • japano rpg's for life :D

those eastern nations are the best in this genre

  • listen to this masterpiece!! al those who only play (and listen) to west RPG's like Morrowind or Dungeon Siege...

  • I wonder when or if the World Map music is gonna make an appearance on the list.

That should in particular is a bit sneaky, at first you think its slow and calming but then it picks up and becomes pretty epic. :D

  • I love the nod to the normal battle theme at 1:00 to 1:05

  • Hey man, there's always a need for more cowbell.

  • You can if you divide by zero.

  • lol only chuck norris can divide zero haha.

  • @George21T u mean divide by zero right bcuz dividing zero is completely possible

  • Comment removed

  • I see, so only calling the beginning 33 seconds of a song "really gay" is calling the ACTUAL GAME gay? I love your logic.

What the hell is wrong with you people? 0.o I said the first 33 seconds were bad, but I liked the rest of the song! Wow, no one can voice their opinion without getting 50 thumbs down.

  • he just said that the little part iss gay xD

  • Exactly. And people flip out and say "OMGZ HE INSULTZ MAH GAMEZ! DESTROYZ HIM!!!1"

  • i dont like the beginning part neither :D but the game is holy :D

  • Indeed. I started the game last year and beat it a few weeks ago.

  • im at the second dvd :D i realy love it that the boss fights are not ever the same....BUT i hate the Gongora guy.... nad the haihachi one xD these two guys are the most retarded guys i have ever seen in a video game xD

  • You sure took a long tmie crip lol. I beat the game in like 2 weeks after it came out. I was pissed because i accidentally saved the continued file over my old one though ;-;

  • lmao its so true

  • ironically, you do not notice or hear the beginning of the song when you first encounter gongora because it's too quiet

    ____

    lo is awesome

  • this game isent gay

  • Man, the sadder songs on this game are so good...

  • I'm reminded of that Tadpole Pond from SM RPG at 00:25.

  • The beginning sort of reminds me of X-men.

Anyway, the song is epic, did square really replace him?

  • Love this track from LO. One of my faves.

  • Maybe I'm just a JRPG lightweight, but this game is too hard! Shame, it seems really awesome as well. Love the story, style, and everything. I just find it so hard...

  • I found this game to be hard at first but the more I played the easier it got. In the end I found the game a bit too easy actually and I just breezed through it. That doesn't include the haaaaard optional dungeons though. :P

  • That first boss is a killer, isnt it?? Sakaguchi got killed in his demo too! ;)

Great song, I really love this one! Uematsu stroke gold with this game. It has an aweosme soundtrack!

  • @SupraDarky I found it easy after a while... probably because every time somebody in my party (An immortal) culd gain a new skill I'd just battle to gain Sp to learn it XD

  • @SupraDarky thought the same. At the beginning it's hard to learn but when you play the game the second or third time it's easy

  • @SupraDarky

The final boss in the backyard is a freaking joke, you have to rely on absorb/0damage to survive haha;DD

I mean attacks that do 25k + on everyone in your party, sheesh

  • @4chan4evar It starts off a bit difficult, but trust me, it's worth fighting through those first 2 bosses. The game is great.

  • @4chan4evar Ya at the beginning it is really hard but as you go through the game it gets way easier.

  • @4chan4evar The trick to Lost Odyssey is more than just to grind. You have to find the stuff that'll help you, like powerful spells. Bottom line: sidequests. Do them. All of them. Gongora was nothing by the time I was done finding all of the stuff. It might've helped that I had the Seekers DLC, and I really committed myself to grinding and finding all the goodies down there. So yeah, look for sidequests, find everything, teach your immortals skills as soon as you get them.

  • @4chan4evar It's not hard. You just need to setup you chars with the right equipments. Finished this game in 2008 with 90+ hours. Great game.

  • @4chan4evar don't worry this game was quite hard for my first time through the trick is to power level at each new place you get to until you stop gaining a level per battle and then the area gets really easy =)

  • @4chan4evar don't use the term JRPG, and you are a RPG lightweight if you found the game TOO hard - powerlevelling is a nessesaty for most good RPGs.

  • @doombybbr i'm sorry to dissapoint you but lost odyssey is in fact a jrpg

and it is true it can be a little challenging on some points

  • @McDenis5678 well i just wouldn't use the term if i don't know but as it it IS from japan i accept the term (otherwise I would get annoyed)

  • @doombybbr derp

  • @doombybbr nonsense

  • @doombybbr what you just realised that jrpg's actually require strategy as opposed to hack n slash wrpg's and roguelikes like baldurs gate which arent even rpg's they're roguelikes?

  • I want to thank all of you guys, I've just reached 2000 subscribers. You're all the best!

  • You're welcome. ;3

    Worth the subscription. ^-^

  • Agreed. I too enjoy many of these songs.

  • It's our pleasure! My fav. subscription by far!

  • @SupraDarky WE LOVE YOU DARKY :)

  • The clicky taps remind me of SMRPG. :3

But the violin and guitar kinda reminds me of Baten Kaitos.

Good choice... It's very nice to listen to. ^-^

  • Weird, the first violin part reminds me a lot of something you'd hear at a high school football game :P.

  • I finished the game abotu 2 weeks ago. This is quite honestly one of the best boss battle theme I've heard. It has everything. Uematsu, you've still got it sir!
