Actually, did the math wrong... it's not 20k iron ingots(it would be that if 6 ingots equaled ONE rail) Since the math is 6 for 16... the right amount of iron ingots you WILL need is, following the pattern:

384 iron ingots + 64 sticks = 1024 Rails

768 iron ingots + 128 sticks = 2048 rails

1152 iron ingots + 192 sticks = 3072 rails

1536 iron ingots + 256 sticks = 4096 rails.

If you need about 4800 than the exact amount of iron ingots you will need is:

1800 iron ingots! :D

You can use nether portals to teleport (but you need to 4 nether portals)

Step1 you build 1 portal in the start go in

s2 you buil one more portal in the nether

s3 build one more portal in the end

So go in the portal go into the second portal in the nether and wala :)

You mention that you want some sort of teleport thing, but the game already has something for that, and you aren't using it in that way. If you build a neither portal at either end of your journey, you could make the trip in 1/8th the time. Of course then there is the challenge of making a safe path while dealing with neither mobs... but that's your teleport system for you.

I just remembered! You can use the nether to make the minecart track! If you didn't know every block you travel in the nether is equivalent to 8 in the overworld. This means you can make a portal at each location you need and build a much shorter minecart track to the other portal to travel between the worlds.

Shame none of us thought of this before you spent hours making a bridge, but it could still be useful if you don't have the materials needed.

JB, I assume that since there were monsters at the beginning of the ocean and then there was a spot with no light and still no monsters- there might be extremely huge cave or abandoned mine shaft. There a well might be no cave at all. But the cave would make sense why mobs aren't spawning  on the roan to snow biom

If you really want to get complicated in the way you design the track, place a bunch of redstone and repeaters (that'll be quite an enormous amount of redstone o.O) on one side, torches on the other side and redstone torches for powered track on the same side, and then have a redstone contraption that lights up a torch if someone is heading towards you on the track. Yay for complicated-ness. Love your vids, JB.

If you ever die and respawn way back again, don't worry about your stuff! It actually only despawns after 5 minutes if the chunk you lost the stuff in is loaded. Way back there the chunk is probably not loaded yet (seeing the enormous distance you traveled) o-o

JB, just a tip for when you lay the track. Place a powered rail every 38 metres (37 normal rails between each powered), that is the most efficient way of doing things. Place at least three at any start point because that is what's needed to reach top speed.
