  • Hey, I have installed Android 4.0 on my Galaxy Ace, and It is very very slow. Your tips helped me

with my phone but it stills slow. Have you got any tips for the rest phones???

  • makes me want a android phone

  • o yeaah android with ice cream and sandwich

    delicious XD

  • if iphone is soooo good... why is it that htc and other android phones are always first to bring out quad proccesors, more megapixel cameras and faster internet connections?

  • @mets23q sadly because they are soo desesperate for beat the iphone... i dont like iphone anymore , and i wont buy a quad-core htc or lg , ill wait for an samsung or motorola. and iphone is not the best is just more famous , thats it

  • you can get to settings faster buy pulling the notification bar and tab on the settings icon

  • I have fingers in my pocket....

  • lol "ice cream sandwich device"

  • Just eat it.

  • Iphone is still better than this laggy chode phone!! Iphone has the best user experience and androids are wayyyy to confusing. Sry but the iphone is still the best phone and it doesn't matter bout having the latest specs its all bout the software

  • @RyFry565 You can stop saying that Android is a laggy shit. If you think Android 4.0 with hardware acceleration is laggy than so does your iOS device

  • @RyFry565 ... and Android 4.0 is the best software. You sir are just to moronic to not know how to use it

  • @mclgetsum Google releases the new firmwares, and then HTC/service providers have to modify them to work on their phones.

  • now dont hate on me, because i love android, but why does android release a new update like every month and only a small amount of the people who DO have android get it?

  • @mclgetsum what are you talking about? the last version of android for phones was 2.3, which came out Dec 2010. incremental updates like 2.3.4 and 4.0.3 are just bug fixes and most phones still get those small updates

  • Uhm, alot of times the fabrics that are used to line pockets in denim/trousers are really thin. And the skin on your leg can actually choose things on the screen! This is very normal and happens a lot. Have had this with HTC and Samsung phones. Forget to lock the phone after choosing a song in the Music Player... And all of a sudden the song skips or jumps to another song. And it's just that I forgot to lock the phone.

AND BY THE WAY: horrible advice in terms of security of your phone and plan.

  • I wanna punch this guy in the throat...

  • Having no capacitive buttons has NOTHING to do with having it turn on and open other things. Not having a lockscreen will also reduce your battery life because of screen timeout

  • i wanna ask you something... im very worried that my phone is not OK because in the running apps it only displays 80-100 mb free RAM i do not have many things installed and very little programs are running i close down as many as i can but still thats as much as i get.... any help

  • Your the best person when it comes to gadgets

  • I really don't like taking the animations away, and that launcher. Really takes some good qualities of the phone away.

  • WHAT IS DIFFERENCES BETWEEN FROYO AND ICE CREAM?

  • @nepobedivititanik TOOO MUCH DIFFERENCES, we're talking from 2.2 to 4.0, Honeycomb also changes heavy, Almost everything changes, you will need to see a video or something

  • @RaphaniacZX ok, but will it suit better on galaxy ace then 2.2 because i heard from 1 friend who installed 4.0 on his galaxy ace and all became slow and laggy...

  • @nepobedivititanik You can't install it on Phones with low resources, exactly because it will be slow and laggy, Any device with gingerbread (in their starts), froyo or lower will be SLOW as the fuck, just the well expected deviced like the Nexus, RAZR, Rezound, SII, In that ones is where it goes faster than never

  • @RaphaniacZX thx for info dude...Im still new to all android stuff...gonna sub :D

  • I have 4.0.3 on my gt i9000. Its not laggy at all actually seems faster :)

  • nice video! i really want this phone..but i have to wait for the sprint release coming soon

  • Fuck my android is

    2.2

  • @MegaSantiago200 Put a rom with 2.3, at least it will be better

  • I cant wait till my SGS2 gets ICS

  • So... basically turn off everything cool about it. Great idea. Too bad you can't go back to froyo or eclair, that would be the best! LOL.

  • Everyday i bevame sure that i love android even i never used an iphone before !! but what the f***, hating apple is in my blood :D ... god bless our little green robot ^^

Cheers from Tunisia ( a galaxy nexus owner and proud of it )

  • Turn off animations, use a launcher that hasn't been updated in a year. What's next? Downgrade to Gingerbread?

  • @drtysox He's advising doing all those things to get the FASTEST experience. It's still VERY FAST using animations and that launcher I suppose.

  • @sanadjung no :(

  • Is ICS Available FOR Samsung Galaxy Y???

    Please Answer!!

  • I need this on my mytouch 4g ! I love the no lock screen feature and this OS is so convenient !

  • When am i putting this to my atrix?

  • Android4.0 is very good.

  • l LOOOOVE you))))))

  • Bigger than the remote controller!

  • Does anyone know when ICS will be released? I understand the releases aren't all the same for every device, but does anyone know of a website that has the list of dates?

  • @davidpresley23 no one knows man.

  • removing apps from the recent apps doesn't end the task...

this fool doesn't even know what he's talking about.

    lame.

  • good, thanks learned a couple new ones from this video.

  • Yeap, my Samsung Galaxy S i9000 rullz so . fuck iphone :)

  • I can understand why you guys hate on android. Its just too smart for you. Just because you cant use it because you dont get it doesnt make it horrible. I have an iphone and an android tablet and i have to say i love android way more than apple. so apple try-hards, grow a pair and admit that android is better

  • @2017kmj what u said is like a fascist calling a communist an idiot

  • just amazing>>>i

  • You take everything off that was put onto ics u might as well have stayed with an older android phone, what a waste of tike seriously !

  • this was just a lot of ways to take away the things you bought the device for imo. Apart from the animation scale thing.

  • @MrFootBall2213

    Fukk your Iphone..

Garbage ass shit..not worth the price

    Android over everything

  • @cre8ivmind1 amen

  • @cre8ivmind1 HAHAHA YOU ARE JEALOUS because you know that iOS is the best mobile operating system hahaha FUCK YOU ANDROID you never will be as iOS is =D

  • @nestor6120 theres a lot of android devices , if you think an iphone is better than every android thats because you are just a retarded fanboy who can't choose by himself

  • @Ggalacticos a retarded fanboy?? a lot of people around me have a lot of devices, android, iOS, windows phones etc... so i know how to use android, I only said what i think, i don't said that android is a bad OS, i think that iOS is better because is easier to use, and the constant updates with new functionalities makes it very attractive,

  • @nestor6120 yea easy to use , just because it doesnt have any customization and you have to pay for every app unless you do jailbreak , but it gets unestable and slowly while you keep downloading more cydia apps , and its not easy to use at all , all this stuff about icloud , apple id , imessage is confusing. and android its easy to use tho , just a little bit more complicated than ios but still easy and better , so give me a reason for why u still think ios is better than android?

  • I love my i phone you bigtchs noone likes that stupid android its so currupt

  • @MrFootball2213 What? Speak english for the first thing, for second if you don't like android we don't give a shit. I dare you to session highjack on iphone, oh, you can't? I can on my droid :3

  • @MrFootball2213 hey guess what? I FUCKING HATE MY IPHONE so i tried android and is so much better

  • i love my nexus S with ICS 4.0.3

  • I love my galaxy nexus

  • @sutol226 me too my friend!

  • Firstly, I like the ICS launcher. I'm not ruining the feel of the phone.

Secondly, Taking away the screen animations makes it look like it just jumped frames, like it's lagging or something. It looks a bit odd. Even having them at 0.5x would be better.

Thirdly, without the lockscreen, there's no security. Also, it looks odd. The point of a lockscreen isn't just to lock, it's to show notifications.

Fourthly, multitasking is the first thing you learn for ICS.

Fifth, hey, a good point. Thanks.

  • Dear Santa.....

  • settings are in the top of the notification bar

  • ओये दोस्त, कृपया अंग्रजी में बोल...

    Translate This.

  • How do I do this browser tab management pls?

  • @aandrewranger Your daddy must be proud...

  • I can see why not being able to have more homescreens would be a big deal. But if you only wanted one or two homescreens, why not just use one or two out of the five homescreens?

  • your voice is higher than mine... I'm 13...

  • This makes me hungry!

  • Cool! Which iPhone is that?

  • @TheJasperkitty

    U Mad Bro?

  • You talk about more icons but doesn't that suck up more battery?

  • When you turn animations off you get an unpleasant fucksicle

  • Until this point, I still can't let go my iPhone with iOS 5 for an Android Ice-cream Sandwich. I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore fanboy of Apple but Android user interface just sucks. It's too complicated to use and its interface is not unified. Very non-intuitive. Gosh!

  • Comment removed

  • @alanleongjl It's not as complicated as it seems. If you take your time and play with it, you'll get it in no time, it's like anything new you try.

  • Android is a cheap iPhone imitation and a cluttered mess.. I hate that shit. Screen full of icons.. Wtf. Window phone 7 has a way better user experience.. and its innovative not an iPhone copy reject..

  • @ankhcreations

Funny, since Android was created before iOS....

And Windows is a bunch of words in order, thats not innovative...

  • @ankhcreations Win 7 OS sucks,It looks so boring,If it was so great why dont all the people buy win 7 phones instead,Nokia thinks they will get a bost with win 7 I doubt that Cause whateva nokia makes according to me a,Is an ancient nokia crap

  • @8rocky88 Exactly youre one of many that think a screen full of bs icons that arent dynamic is appealing. You have your opinion just like i do. sliding screens and 10 ways to get to the same Widget, app or feature is old and ugly and time consuming for nothing. My opinion and Windows Phone 7 has many options of natural connectivity to (the Cloud) than android or iphone. Office, Office355, Sharepoint, Xbox, Skydrive, Windows Live, Zune(awesome) Integrated. I use them all. WP7

  • I like subtle animations but not the crazy ones that have my screens turning in cubes. I dont think ICS animations slow down the phone.

  • The Android OS is awesome! It IS the new benchmark for mobile OSes. ICS is the next evolution of that benchmark!

  • Why does it seems to me that Android tries to hard to be like an iOS device. Like sometimes all the animations and "openness" is cool at times but when you have a iOS device in your hands... it just feels like your holding the benchmark phone of the market.

  • @cameronsmith142 don't go there your comparing them wrong ... compare the nexus s to the iphone 4 ... the nexus tramples it if not equals the iphone in performance and the galaxy nexus and s2 run circles around the 4s ... you have nothing to brag about the iphone is soo simple it doesn't have a home screen just a app drawer!! boring!!!

  • Another great production, as soon as I get my Nexus all these tips will be put to use!! Awesome, thanks!! (Phone looks way better with the LAuncher Pro app)

  • The only reason I preferred 3rd party launchers before was because stock launcher was bad all the way through gingerbread. ICS stock is good enough for me to not use another launcher IMO.

  • @Jabid21 I agree with this. I've always used LauncherPro and I'm glad I never paid for it because I won't be using it anymore

  • About the "None" lock screen: I used to also think that there's no way you could press buttons in your pocket by accident. Wrong. If it was a resistive screen, no problem because you really have to push on it. But with a capacitive screen, if you have cloth pockets, your thighs are enough to push things on the screen. I had my phone to no lock screen, and after having friends complain about the mysterious phone calls I make, I used a lock screen ever since.

  • Wtf... these three "tips" just ruin the beauty of ICS. Most people, like myself, want some eye candy when using their phone, not just practicality. This video should be called "How to Make ICS ugly and boring". Shame on you!

  • when will Thunderbolt be getting this update? i looked at the list and its not even listed

  • @the1mancam well, it just got gingerbread, so it might take a while...like a long time

  • I HATE YOUR FCUKING VOICE!!

  • Thanks to the wonderful presentation we suffer from a lack of modern equipment, although we keep up with the evolution of the world will not be issued to the device after the trouble of traders Alambrorniat

  • good

  • the three dots are copied from windows phone..

  • Comment removed

  • Or you could just get a windows phone. Way to over complicate simple tasks.

  • Third party launcher is not a tip its a sin on this phone

  • @Brandon Is there a way to get a "Search" software button to show with Launcher Pro?

  • This looks more like an ad than Tips. The title says Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Tips and the idiot is talking about the 3rd party launcher or the high res screen all the time.

  • Really the browser is awesome i cant wait to ics in my samsung galaxy s2

  • is this vid about ics or some shit 3rd party launcher?

  • Comment removed

  • so the vertical dots on the right are the settings key then?

  • Akocern3 This varies, the international version does not feature a search key. While it can be achieved by holding menu, I am doubtful the persistent search will be removed for the international version at least.

  • aw. Why use launcher pro. The ICS Launcher looks good already. It's like going back to gingerbread. LOL

  • yuck doesnt look to good to me.

  • Love the browser <3

  • I use this tips on my sgs 1 thanks

  • you ruined ics for me

  • go launcher ex is better than launcher pro

  • Go launcher ( it's free with all features except some themes ) gives samef eatures+ over 30 home screens

  • Uhh my leg through my pocket has change the screen on my phone many many times.

Also swiping off the app in the multitasking screen DOES NOT force close a app, all it does it make it so it isn't in the list anymore. Android still does all the back end stuff to close down apps properly.

Come on Brandon you are better then this.

  • What about the notification LED? Is it multi-color like on the Nexus One? And if so, ae there apps already to change the color depending on what notification you have (mail, text, call...)?

    Thanks!

  • GO Launcher > ADW >>>>>> Launcher Pro.

  • Can't wait to ICS. YUM!

  • As for browser tabs, the best experience for me is Surfcube 3D browser on WP7. If you don't know what it is, check out a YT video. IE9 is not conducive and should be tweaked. ICS has a better interface to the shop IE9, but not as good as Surfcube.

  • I use WP7 and it's unbelievable how much faster I can get to my apps or search for the info needed compared to Android and iOS users still fumbling around. They all look at me like how the hell did you get that so fast. Windows is the better interface, but too bad doesn't have the full apps support at this time. But ICS has very nice customizable options I have to say.

  • @erichon00 Of course you can find apps easier when your phone only has like 5 of them. -_-

  • @skitzthegemini of course I expected a smart ass comment, thought it would come sooner. check out my WP7 videos and you'll see how many apps I use on my phone (start screen). Hardly more than 5... :)

  • @erichon00 You should expect that type of comment when you leave a comment on an Android video about how much better WP7 is. Trolls get trolled.

  • @skitzthegemini trolls get trolled....deep

  • I wonder of ICS releases for HTC Evo 3D will have 3D menus or something..

  • Idiot keep this phone STOCK that's why its called a Nexus because it is supposed to be the Google Experience Phone.

  • ICS will be available for Samsung Galaxy S2? Thanks.

  • @coldjava Yes .. maybe in about 2 months

  • @coldjava yes.

  • The video is about how to make ICS AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, not as pretty as possible... So stop bitching about that, idiots... He already said that he's interested in speed way more than looks...

  • if you use a launcher pro..this is no more considered as ICS tips..please~

  • He used launcher to get a full advantage of high resolutionon on this phone (much more icons can be visible in one screen). When Sgs ii will be updated to ics i will use this launcher for sure, thanks pocketnow.

  • Why you just don't make folders on the home screen?

  • Scumbag Reviewer

complains Android is ugly..... puts a launcher on pretty stock Android

  • At least replace it with a better launcher like Shell 3D not launcher pro.

  • Launcher Pro is amazing

  • He has an icon fetish. Haha

  • Your intro is too loud.

  • A lot of people are hating the fact that he put launcher pro on... Honestly, I will probably keep LauncherPro when ICS gets pushed out the the GS2. I don't like paginated app drawers, and the persistent search bar would drive me a bit nuts I think,

  • @Whiterin when the GS2 gets ICS. It probably won't have the persistent search bar because it already has a capacitive touch button for "search". But honestly, been using a Nexus with ICS. the search is aint that bad. You'll probably get used to it.

  • @akocern03 The Intl' version doesn't have the search button.

  • New title: How to Ruin the Galaxy Nexus

  • Protip: use SEARCH if you don't feel like looking through all the icons..

  • MIUI == ICS.. Nice theming!

  • @domdom87 @jppenas Thanks fellas, Wasn't too sure so wanted to ask just in case. So Thanks for the answers :D

  • when is android 4.0 coming to galaxy S2

  • For anyone who knows, are the 3 buttons on the bottom (back, home, menu) is that apart of the display screen itself, or is it still apart of a dedicated space.

  • @ittekimasu It's actually part of the display, when you use a full-screen app they will disappear (:

I'm sorry for my english, I'm from Guatemala :P haha

  • @ittekimasu thats on the display, like honeycomb tablets. thats why the galaxy nexus's screen is ginormous.

  • swiping apps from task switcher doesnt close the apps, just closes the multitasking shortcut ... btw NEVER USE A 3RD PARTY LAUNCHER WITH ICS!! =P but good video

  • Swiping apps off multitasking doesn't actually close the app.

  • that launcher is ugly. and that vertical scrolling... yuck.

  • Vanilla ICS is way too good to put a launcher on top of it IMHO

  • Wow this guys is the opposite of charming.

  • Not entirely true about the lock screen. I have already selected none in Gingerbread. So it's not entirely new to Ice Cream Sandwich

  • So what you did is technically took away a huge chunk of ICS goodness just to have more icons on the home screen and an iOS inspired dock? i think someone here needs to go back to iOS or Gingerbread

  • why the fuck did he put a launcher on ics!!!!!

  • this video should be renamed to launcher pro tutorial haha

  • phone settings have always been in the phone app itself..

  • ICS launcher is way too laggy

  • Nexus will have ics first and it will get the next android version which maybe jellybean. The sgs2 will get ics whenever and next android version never. That's for America well for the uk and others will get ics as for jellybean who knows. Carrier I'm the USA have a lot of control look at high end android device that never got gingerbread or took over a year to get a non working version with a lot of bugs.

  • YOUTUBE, Y U NO RETURN THE "TURN OFF THE LIGHT" BUTTON

  • I never liked how pocketnow always preferred speed and customization over an overall better user experience

  • @DrVReaction Samsung confirmed it for the UK version. that said, it seems to set a precedent for the other varients of the s2
