  • Your webcam probably came with software. You need to open the webcam settings and check there what other program is using it maybe. I'm guessing?

  • my advice would be unplug your camera and then restart your computer then plug it back in

  • Say what?

  • If you need any more help go to "Major Geeks" and download "Startup List 2.02" and we'll take it from there. I'll send you my email address and instructions on how to use the above program. It's a superb utility and is able to provide an incredible amount of information in respect of problems like this.

Catch you later ... enjoy the "snedge".

  • I don't have a webcam sorry paul but it looks like Elemeff may have the answer for you good luck

  • #2: This is a good way to save a record of running processes for later comparison.

Alternative: Open Cmd prompt: type "tasklist /svc > C:\svc.txt" (without quotes) and this will automatically create a text file in the root of your C drive detailing all running processes. If you wish to append this document type "tasklist /svc >> C:\svc.txt" and you will create a log with the output from each consecutive tasklist command.

If you do this each time you end a process it can help to identify problem.

  • First of all - Uninstall DirectX Unplug camera Close all IM programs Open Task Manager End explorer process Your deasktop will dissapear In Task Manager go to file Clk new task(run) Type "explorer" and the shell will be re-loaded and your desktop will reappear Reinstall DirectX Plug in camera If that doesn't work , let me know and I'll see what I can do. This is a very common problem.

Useful tip - if TaskManager is open

    press Alt+PrintScreen

    Open Paint

    Edit/Paste and save image

    continued

  • Hmm... I don't know. But I had a similar problem and the solution was to go about it the other way.

Maybe you can chsnge the setting of nsm to accept this type of camera?

  • Sorry Paul...we don`t have a webcam and know nothing about them! Good luck! :0)

  • I don't know how you find out which programme is using it...but.....what I would do is.....is go to (cam)settings and make sure you don't need to use something in there......or see if your firewall is messing with it......yea,I most times just try small settngs changes(remembering to change them back)

    Not much help,sorry.

  • i use a microsoft vx3000...i know what your talking about but im not quite sure what to tell ya...The only thing i can think of is your using it in another program...like if you're making a video..you can't be in a chat area which support's video...you can only use the camera for one thing at a time...other than that im not quite sure...maybe google it?...lol

  • i have no clue, if i hear any thing ill let you know
