  • o_o Who would put a salad in a set for a burned inn? Or who would eat that? Ewww..

  • Poor Jimmy.

  • What is the button for jump I'm looking for this game

  • You wanna Unique DC experience, raise a seaman!

  • WOW now thats what i love about dreamcast and all the other older gaming consoles because they have alot cool UNIQUE games like this. I love it fuck xbox 360

  • @f8j3jn - Nearly every console in history has its share of unique titles. You really should check out Deadly Premonition for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It's every bit as quirky as Illbleed, and it has an amazing storyline. I actually might do a playthrough of it eventually, although I'd really recommend that anyone who plans on playing it for themselves not let someone else spoil it for himself/herself.

  • @kubevubin ive seen some footage of that game rewieved by spoony, not that good

  • @f8j3jn - I watched some of Spoony's footage of the game. To be honest, I don't know exactly how much footage he posted, but I generally find that people are overly harsh toward the game's controls and general game play mechanics. Trust me when I say that the game is incredible in terms of its storyline, and it's a shame that many players can't see past some imperfections to experience a legitimately amazing storyline and great characters.

  • i loved this game but it scared me to much when i was little

  • I remember this game. I didn't like it at first but it picked up nicely later.

  • she got hit by a plank and loss alot of blood from just that? LOL

  • What a gem for the dreamcast...That console had so many of those...

  • how the main character know some trap before she reach it?

  • @bloodyspare - It's a combination of things. First off, you can usually pick out a potential threat simply by using the on-screen senses. Thing is, you can't disarm traps this way, so this alone isn't enough to progress unharmed. The second method of identifying traps is to use the Horror Monitor. It'll snap to potential traps whenever you're scanning, and you can mark areas that you think will be harmful in order to disarm the traps.

  • @kubevubin i hope i have six sense like that... and the horror monitor for protect myself from danger...

  • LOL! Game saves through taking souvenir photos! XD

  • Ohhhh thats how u do it. thanks for the walkthrough. it helps

  • That skull at 6:50 scared me to death!!

  • This used to be the scariest game i've ever played it scared me more than resident evil or the silent hill series.

  • Reminds me of PSO.

  • That shrieky sound when you trigger a trap should go up there with the "!" sound from Metal Gear as one of the most startling sounds in games.

  • I like who they didn't care to change over the currency. What teenager carries around $3000? If you used the USD then it would be between $25-30 not $3000. I mean common, $280 for a bandage? $2.80, sounds way more reasonable.

  • @Sakuraleaf2007 - Given the prize for clearing each level, I think that the high prices are intentional. Besides, if there was no conversion of currencies, then that'd make the prize in the Japanese version far less significant.

  • The music that plays when you're outside the inn is really eerie.

  • i didnt know grass sounds loud as hell when stepped on

  • "Bandage: Stanches slightly."

    wut.

  • It's staunch, and it's referring to stopping the flow of liquid. In this case, it's referring to blood.

  • it's not fun if you dont off the trap you know...

oh well. thanks for the video.

  • Is she standing in blood? It seems like see is always bleeding or something. :o

  • Sometimes, yeah. If she's bleeding according to her bleeding meter, then you'll periodically see blood dripping from her.

  • @LeppySaru I've seen something similar in the first Urban Chaos.

  • lol you fell for a trap this just got really cool

  • after like 8 years, I still more-less remembered that music ! so weird...

  • The stores look like the marts from the Pokemon games, noteably Colleseum.

  • You should play the game through with cheats on and trigger all of the traps so we can see what they do... XD At least, I think the Gameshark had cheats for it.

  • im just curious. those blue spots you find after using the horror monitor. are those traps you've avoided?

  • Not necessarily. They're just spots you've marked. They can be successfully marked traps, items or nothing at all.

  • this reminds me of the movie stay alive

  • I LOVE THIS GAME FUCK!!!

  • One of the Dreamcast's most underrated horror titles!

  • Oh gawd the head at 6:50... "Oh hey, it's just a creepy.. head skull item. Thought it would be a scre-HOOLYASHFSHI!" D:

  • Yea, no duh, just as usual, sure it creeped most out, but like if it scared us, we'd probably be all like, whatever and brush it off... But that... Jeesh. Its screamer season all over. (P.S. If you lose all that blood from falling woord, what does that tell you?! *remember the previous part*

  • During the intro it says the narrator says the kids were playing with fire but the words say "playing the fire". lol. This game had so many spelling errors.

  • Ah i see what you mean by the horror monitor ^^

  • At 7:32 did the thing say "jimmy... jimmy... Where ARE YOU?"

I dunt remember this game much, but it traumatized me as a kid :<

  • Lol now I feel old.

  • lol, hedgehod, inspiration from ZODICK?

  • partly xD heheh.

  • I love Illbleed's atmosphere. Games on older consoles like the Dreamcast have a certain feel to them that's distinct to the console. That doesn't really happen anymore :<

If I ever designed a game I would have a soda called Hassy in there somewhere.

Haha, wow, the entire inn burned down in a few minutes? What was it made of, paper?

  • I think it's referring more to Jimmy. XD

  • The town music is so awsome...

  • 5:34 I've never noticed that before =)

  • Yeah, those are two quick traps that also happen to net you a decent amount of return adrenaline. Also, it helps your total of cleared traps a bit early on.

  • the things that pop up... are they suppose to be traps or somting?

  • Yeah, they're traps that I successfully disarmed (by marking them).

  • man! I love this game, AND the musics!! :D

  • whats sixth sence?

  • It's just a sense that spikes whenever there's an item or an enemy nearby.

  • I first played this game last year for a friend, because he was to scared to play this by himself. I think this is the best survival-horror game ever!!!

  • I wish i had this game. I wonder if I could ever find it. I dont have many games for my dreamcast.

  • It's easy enough to find on sites like eBay. If you're looking to find it locally, then good luck.

  • Hmmmm I am probably going to be busy looking for it. I cant buy stuff off of eBay yet so i will probably looking in a lot of really old game shops around my place. If only it wasnt so hard to find the good old games.

  • Best places to look for rare, or old games.

GameQuest - BEST VIDEO GAME STORE EVER!!! They have everything from the original Nintendo to the games of today.

Warehouses - If there is a warehouse near you that ships games to stores, you're bound to find anything your gaming heart desires. And cheaper too :)

  • Oh Thank you now I should be able to find all the games I want Yay I feel happy now XD

  • go download it then burn it

  • I dont want to get games like that

  • Actually, you can play this game on a Dreamcast emulator. I have it, and it works very well (except for some minor lag, but nothing huge) But I do agree that the best way to really enjoy this game is to get an actual copy of it. However, while you're looking for a Dreamcast and a copy of this game, you can play it on your pc. If you want to know how, feel free to pm me so I can tell you how to set it up. :)

  • I tryed that for Blue Stinger and it had soooo many glitches, luckley I still have Illbleed's case, manaule, and disk. I'm set =)

  • Thanks for the awesome playthrough! Maybe someday someone will post one with an infinite health code, so we can see all the scares.

  • The game seems to be interesting and creepy, but I never heard of it. Illbleed wasn't released in Europe, was it?

And a little question about the gameplay. The horror monitor is used to detect and avoid traps?

  • Well, the horror monitor is used to mark traps. Detecting them can actually be done with just your senses, although you can't disarm them unless you use the horror monitor.

  • These types of games are the kind that scare me out of my skin.

    Sudden scares = ftl.

  • THIS HELPS ALOT! THANKS!

  • is it just me or do those intro narrations seem like the beginning of a Twilight Zone episode? I swear I thought he was going to end it with "in... The Twilight Zone!" XD

  • That's a bit of a stretch. I do love The Twilight Zone, though. :)

  • Even though many people find this game humourous, I thought it was plain creepy, especially this stage.

  • Cool

  • Y did the woodcutter in Walkthrough part 0001 tell u 2 go 2 the cemetary, just 2 get the horror moniter?

  • Nah, it's supposed to direct you to the tutorial section. That's where you learn how to use the Horror Monitor.

  • I forgot to say this when I first watched this...

I LOL FOR HOURS over...he was maimed in a fire and turned into a monster GGGGRROOOWWLLL! LOL!!!!! it was just so funny to me...

  • I guess the reason why I was SO AMUSED is the narrators voice he sounds like it happens all the time and like he's a little happy about it...anyway....

  • Hahahaha...yeah, I love the narrator in this game. I think that the narrator's supposed to be Michael Reynolds. They sound very similar.

  • he is like the funnest narrator EVER! he makes me giggle!

  • Oh, so you missed this one? I cut the opening sequences out of the second walkthrough, as they added just a bit too much time to the overall walkthrough, making it annoying to cut everything into segments.

  • I watched a few of this version...until I wanted to know what the orbs really were...

so I saw the REALLY FUNNY Intro...I just forgot to comment about it When I first saw it...

  • Yeah, that's the bad thing about the game: The more than you play it as intended, the less exciting it is.

  • How could the fire push Banbollow's skull all the way to his far left? And cause his intestines to be hanging out of his body?

  • You see a lot of collapsed wood at the ends of the hallways. It's very possible that something fell on him during the fire.

  • this has better graphics and music than any ps 2 game of this time.. cept the mouths not moving. Why couldnt they do this with every game?

  • I disagree. Really, the characters as a whole are just kinda plain in comparison to the environments. It isn't surprising that their mouths don't move, as the characters simply look rushed.

  • yeah, but thats how they looked on the ps2 at the time...when was this 1999..2000?

  • 2001.

  • Do u think Banbollow was inspiered by Freddy?

  • He has absolutely nothing to do with Freddy, and I can't see a connection, even if I REALLY use my imagination.

  • He was maimed n a fire, and he has a lot of Freddy's powers, but I do disagree on the flamethrowing blowtorch

  • Plenty of people have been maimed in fires. And what powers? He just walks around with a flamethrower...

  • Being able to pop up out of nowhere: like in the bathroom obove the toilet, or out of the painting in the lobby. And being able to grow gigantic.

  • And how many people are maimed like he was and

    SURVIVE.

  • I'd say that it's hard to say that he survived, since the game never really says that he did. Listen to the intro. Really, while it doesn't say that he died, it doesn't necessarily say that he survived. In either case, though, it's a video game, so anything can happen.

  • Plenty of horror characters are able to appear out of no where. That's like saying that he's based on Pennywise the Clown, since Pennywise could do the same.

  • Hard 2 argue w/ ur answers. My only ? is: where n the inn does there look like something fell from the ceiling?

  • At the ends of hallways. Check out Level 01, Part 02 of the walkthrough in which I'm not using the Horror Monitor and skip to 3:10. As you can see, there are collapsed boards that block me from going any further, so I turn into the nearby doorway.

  • he got his popping powers when he turned into a monster gggrrooowwlll!

because you know when you get maimed in a fire, you turn into a monster WITH RRAGGE LOL! which gives you randomly appearing powers *more giggles!*

  • Did you ever pay really close attention to Banbollow, by the way? Take a good look at him when he runs toward Eriko in the basement practice arena further into the level. You may notice that one of his legs is about to fall off, from the look of it.

  • HA HA HA I didn't sit and stare at him...

so I didn't notice his leg...

  • That's the cool thing about this game. There's really a ton of detail, and you'll almost always notice something new whenever you play through it again.

  • I thought 1 of his legs already did fall off, turning his bone n2 a peg-leg. While the other foot has almost been torn off.

  • Yeah, the only person who is actually difficult to save is Jorg.

  • Funny thing is, you really have no choice but to get hit by that gueatin (sp?) at the beginning of stage 1. Since you don't have the horror monitor yet, and there is no way to avoid said trap. I always found that weird. :/

  • Nah, it makes sense. It kinda displays the effect that traps can have on your stats. It would've been more effective with some sort of on-screen text that described exactly what happened, though.

  • True true.

    But one thing that annoyed me about the game, is the fact that you would have no idea what to do in the game unless you read the instruction manual or take the tutorial. But how in the world are you suppose to find it if they hide it next to the ER???? Most games would force the player to take it, heck I never even knew about the horror monitor until I saw it in the booklet after many attempts at level one. And didn't find the tutorial until I was almost at the end of the game! -.-;

  • The Woodcutter at the park entrance tells you how to find the tutorial area, actually. When Eriko asks about her friends, pay attention to what he says in response.

  • I remember I reserved this game. I only played it to the part where Banballow appears in the painting inside the inn. After that, I returned the game...

  • Hahahaha...why'd you return it? The game kinda freaked me out the first time that I played it, so that's why I'm asking.

  • I returned it cause it really scared me. When I first heard of Illbleed in a magazine, I imagined it as a Resident Evil in a theme park type of game. But I ended up getting something completely different.

I have no problem playing it now, but back then, I didn't like horror games very much. The randomized traps, and Mr. Banballow's face, prevented me from even LOADING up the game. Mr. Banballow doesn't scare me anymore, but I do get the chills once in a while when I see a picture of him...

  • Hahahaha...well, don't feel bad. Illbleed is the only game that freaked me out to the point where I buried it underneath a bunch of stuff in my closet, rather than simply putting it on the shelf with the rest of my games and simply not playing it.

  • banbollow still scares the crap out of me, i can't do any maze level in the game, Banbollow's, Cuty Mary's, I'm stuck on the woodcutter cos no one wants to do it for me, I'll do it at some point though.

  • What's giving you so much trouble in the Woodpuppets stage?

  • I just hate the maze levels, i could barely watch the Banbollow maze on this walkthrough

  • Do the trick that I use. If you hate the enemy encounters, then just bring up the map before rounding any corners. It'll stop any enemies in their tracks and give you a chance to get past them. Just be advised that Woodcutters are really fast, so you'll need to continue doing that to keep them off of your tail.

  • thanks, not too bothered about the fights though, just the fright you get when they pop around the corner.

  • That's why you bring up the map just before rounding the corners.

  • *sigh* Back then, I wasn't a horror nut as I am now. Resident Evil got me into horror. Before that, I never DARED to go near anything scary. Anyway, I was used to games like Resident Evil, Alone in the Dark...not games where the scares are randomized every single time you load the game up. I can look at Banballow, he doesn't scare me now. Hell, I have the game now, and I love it.

  • wtf is a hassy?.....lolz at the game though! :D

  • You know, I have no idea. I believe that it has some sort of significance, though. It's also an item in Blue Stinger, which was made by the same development team.

  • Isn't "Blue Stinger" the weird looking creature u can pick as an end boss?

  • No, it's Bullstinger, a boss (possibly the final one) from Blue Stinger.

  • I knew that, It's just that a lot of these YouYubers r calling BullStinger "Blue Stinger"

  • ROCKS!

  • Hahahaha...thanks.
