You don't cure cancer, you prevent it. The problem with people is that we would rather try to "cure" cancer and continue living our cancer producing lives i.e food, chemicals, and smoking rather than stop doing/eating things that cause it.

You can't prevent all types of cancer you idiot, cancer is spontaneuous, your DNA is constantly mutating and being repaired, a few hits in the wrong places at the wrong time and you're gone. Yes we can accelerate the process by smoking or doing damage to our body but non smokers/vegetarians still get cancer (ex Jackie Kennedy). And people should be able to enjoy life without getting cancer anyway. And what about people who are born with a few of those mutations, ready to get cancer on 1 or 2hits

I really wish they would capitalize on stem cell research, I mean scientists have found evidence of stem cells appearing in normal skin cells, not from fetus'...and even if they were from fetuses, they were just going to be exterminated anyway...holy.

MMk thanks for replying, I live in canada so believe me I know we don't have a population problem. But with more and more people comes more polution (from making more products, and more people driving cars) which leads to even less resources. (which we are already low on). It wasn't so much land I was worried about, it was more like jobs and homes, resources, other things like that. And even if the fetus weren't going to be "exterminated" (we as humans can make infinite of them basically...)

Yeah, I don't buy the whole we caused global warming bullshit, but I've done my own research on that, you can too. But I think that even when cancer is finally defeated, there is going to be a couple other new devastating diseases, it's always been that way, we'll never be immune to everything.

But if you do look at the levels of CO2 which makes up the air, you will probably see a problem. Global Warming is 1 small issues of many in this topic :P

I think that Stem-cell research could do more then we ever wondered. Yet a lot of people are like, "noo it's too immoral!
