The stock supercharger on the Shelby will make upwards of 650 crank horsepower before a Whipple or KB is needed. Whipple sells a 4.0 supercharger that will make in excess of 1000rwhp.

Near 3 car lengths to the GT500, That's the difference between 412 hp vs 540 hp... GT500 walked GT 5.0 This is def a 2007-2010 GT500 too... No outer changes to the car from 2007 - 2010 In 2011 the taillights are different and the Cobra on the front is on the passengerside of the car \ aka the right side...
I knew this was how it would be the day I traded in the 07 GT500 for a 5.0, still, the 5.0 is a much more refined car than the 07-09 Shelbys and is hella easier on the wallet :D
@CerebrumPedere Could have picked up a 2010 GT500 with all the new refinements for about the same money as an optioned out 5.0. Its what I did and no regrets. This car is amazing.

@zacheryds GT500 is almost 600lbs heavier than a Z06 so it takes about 100rwhp more to keep up in the shelby. A TVS powered GT500 will pull on a Z06 quite easily, BUT when the vette stars modding its hard to overcome the weight and aero disadvantage. I own a 2010 GT500 and have played with these cars :) I know what it takes. Supersnake would probably hang with the Zr1 in a straight line given it gets traction, but again still apples to oranges, Zr1 is amazing

@BLACKLACDTS dayum! i would love a 5.0 but im gonna go with the older equivalent which is the 99 cobra. stock hp is 320 at the fly, but im gonna do full suspension, full exhaust, stage 2 cams springs and retainers, cnc ported and polished heads, 5.1l stroker kit, then a tune and cold air. (of course not all at once, but....) i think that should get me to about 450bhp. im gonna go with completely balanced internals. (pistons, rods, crank, and cams)

@paladain55 keep geting those good grades and stay in school and your life will be much easier. and by the time your 21 you will have whatever stang you want! at your age i would recomend a 91-93 mustang 5.0 because they are older(cheaper insurance and no emmisions) very cheap to modify and tons of parts new and used and also very easy to work on. the mod motor car are not cheap to build. for the money you will have in that 99 cobra you could have a very serious fox mustang
@BLACKLACDTS yeah i have a full scholarship to any college i want. it will pay for everything. our school has one of those 7 promise programs in the united states. i also have 3 jobs so i make a little bit of money too, and sincei have the scholarship my parents will buy me the mustang i want (reasonably priced), the only crappy part is i have to pay my insurance. im gonna sell my honda rebel and hond met scooter for upgrades, and i have some money saved too
@paladain55 well it sounds like you have your stuff together and your on the rite track. trust me finish school and college!! i did not and i regret it everyday! anyway its your decision on what stang to buy but the 99 and 01 cobras were not the best cobras if you know what i mean. what about a 03-04 mach 1? simular to the 99 cobra but with all the proper revisions the cobra did not have. i think a 93 cobra would be the coolest car to buy in your situation.

@paladain55 I agree with you to a point. I dont believe the new supercharged 5.0 Roush mustangs are forged. The car to have would have been the 2010 Roush Stage 3. Has a TVS supercharger and is fully forged ready for punishment. Its not a 5.0 (the 4.6l 3v), but it can handle some serious power.
@JarrodGT that depends. i know a bunch of guys that bought new 5.0s and out the door for $30k where a used 07 gt500 is still $35k + so thats up to you what to buy.
@BLACKLACDTS SVTPerformance . com in the market section has low low mileage GT500s for 30-35k, so pretty close. But it does come down to preference. The newer body styling, better interior, 5.0 of the GT (which will be just another GT in a few years). Or the GT500 with the 5.4 supercharged forged motor, older interior and body styling (which is still a GT500 and somewhat limited). Its all about whats important to the individual. I love the new 5.0s, very cool cars.
@JarrodGT imo the new 5.0 will be anothrer foxbody stang and have tons of parts which makes them parts cheaper. for the average working man the gt 5.0 would be ythe best bet. my friend jay has a 2012 5.0 with all the bolt ons and boss intake and runs 11.20s! thats insane for a bolt on all motor car on drag radials. the gt500 before 2010 was really heavy inthe front and had traction problems. they are dyno kinds but not very good for street racing like the 5.0 is. i wouldnt mind either tho.
@kief4diamonds to be honest you dont even need a power adder on the new 5.0s to be a winner. all the bolt ons avalible can make them 11.0 cars which is very respectable. and the new cams that are out will put them in the 10s all motor.

yes, that whine is orgasmic... the new 2011+ mustangs are all just amazing... the 5.0 is super impressive turboed or supercharged, but the new V6 with a turbo kit (a company is coming out with one) or a supercharger (procharger has one out) iis an absolute sleeping monster

@AreYouSeriousFilms The 2011 GT500 is 120lbs lighter than the 07-09 Shelby model. There was no 05 or 06. The rims on the 07-09 are hideous and the 2010 and up GT500 wheels are pretty darn nice. My opinion of course

@zacheryds GT500 is almost 600lbs heavier than a Z06 so it takes about 100rwhp more to keep up in the shelby. A TVS powered GT500 will pull on a Z06 quite easily, BUT when the vette stars modding its hard to overcome the weight and aero disadvantage. I own a 2010 GT500 and have played with these cars :) I know what it takes. Supersnake would probably hang with the Zr1 in a straight line given it gets traction, but again still apples to oranges, Zr1 is amazing

At 26 secs the interior is finshed in polished metal sorry but there is strong evidense that that grabber orange mustang is an 2012 Boss 302.

@GTO19020 Im just saying the facts point to the car being a 2012 boss 302 and if somebody must have alot of money to make an knockoff but the exhaust is quad you can hear it at 25 secs I have been in a boss 302 and it sounds exactly the same. I have an hard time believing somebody made an knockoff by the time you spend the money you might as well get a real one.

@paladain55 im more of a straight line guy. i would like to have a 2012 boss with headers,no cats,3" flowmaster 10 series mufflers with turn downs,cold air intake,tune, 4.56 gears,15x3 bogart front wheels with skinny tires,15x10 rears with 28x12.50 et streets,lowered drag style suspension,and a 150 shot of juice! i think based off the stock times of a 2011 5.0 the boss of my dreams should be a solid low 10 second car on spray and low 11s on motor.

@BLACKLACDTS dayum! i would love a 5.0 but im gonna go with the older equivalent which is the 99 cobra. stock hp is 320 at the fly, but im gonna do full suspension, full exhaust, stage 2 cams springs and retainers, cnc ported and polished heads, 5.1l stroker kit, then a tune and cold air. (of course not all at once, but....) i think that should get me to about 450bhp. im gonna go with completely balanced internals. (pistons, rods, crank, and cams)

@paladain55 keep geting those good grades and stay in school and your life will be much easier. and by the time your 21 you will have whatever stang you want! at your age i would recomend a 91-93 mustang 5.0 because they are older(cheaper insurance and no emmisions) very cheap to modify and tons of parts new and used and also very easy to work on. the mod motor car are not cheap to build. for the money you will have in that 99 cobra you could have a very serious fox mustang

@BLACKLACDTS yeah i have a full scholarship to any college i want. it will pay for everything. our school has one of those 7 promise programs in the united states. i also have 3 jobs so i make a little bit of money too, and sincei have the scholarship my parents will buy me the mustang i want (reasonably priced), the only crappy part is i have to pay my insurance. im gonna sell my honda rebel and hond met scooter for upgrades, and i have some money saved too

@paladain55 well it sounds like you have your stuff together and your on the rite track. trust me finish school and college!! i did not and i regret it everyday! anyway its your decision on what stang to buy but the 99 and 01 cobras were not the best cobras if you know what i mean. what about a 03-04 mach 1? simular to the 99 cobra but with all the proper revisions the cobra did not have. i think a 93 cobra would be the coolest car to buy in your situation.

yeah our high school has an engineering program and it is awesome. last year i did intro to engineering design, this year im doing computer integrated manufactoring and principles of engineering, and im going for my advanced diploma. i want to go to the university of arkansas and go to school to become a mechanical engineer and build stuff all day long. i dont think it would take long since our school offers like 5 eng classes.

@BLACKLACDTS lol. im a ford guy. my dad hates 80-early 00 chevys. he said they were soo problematic and the customer service he quit buying them. now all we buy are ford's and acura's. no problems whatsever. i think i may try and go for the 2003-2004 mach 1. its insurance is pretty good since it is still considered a mustang gt, and the cobras are crazy because of theyre name. and it has that 4.6l dohc engine i love so much, and a live axle since i hear the irs has problems with wheel hop

@paladain55 cool. i have had all kinds of rides from chevys,fords,mazda,infiniti,cadillac,mercury,saturn,isuzu and im sure im forgeting a few.lol the worst car i had was the 03 cadillac dts. i have never had any problems with any of the other cars at all. rite now i have a 06 chevy trailblazer ss and a 93 mustang 5.0 and both are great rides with zero problems. you can buy any make and get a lemon. a friend had a 05 mustang and it was the biggest piece of junk ever!!!!

@BLACKLACDTS lol. my dad said he had had a bunch of gm cars, he liked them, but he said he was always fixing them and selling them. yeah but any car can be a lemon. he said when he tried to get a warrantly claim, he said they would put you at the back of the list, you would wait weeks for them to check the car out, and you still werent certain if they would fix your car

@paladain55 I agree with you to a point. I dont believe the new supercharged 5.0 Roush mustangs are forged. The car to have would have been the 2010 Roush Stage 3. Has a TVS supercharger and is fully forged ready for punishment. Its not a 5.0 (the 4.6l 3v), but it can handle some serious power.

@BLACKLACDTS SVTPerformance . com in the market section has low low mileage GT500s for 30-35k, so pretty close. But it does come down to preference. The newer body styling, better interior, 5.0 of the GT (which will be just another GT in a few years). Or the GT500 with the 5.4 supercharged forged motor, older interior and body styling (which is still a GT500 and somewhat limited). Its all about whats important to the individual. I love the new 5.0s, very cool cars.

@JarrodGT imo the new 5.0 will be anothrer foxbody stang and have tons of parts which makes them parts cheaper. for the average working man the gt 5.0 would be ythe best bet. my friend jay has a 2012 5.0 with all the bolt ons and boss intake and runs 11.20s! thats insane for a bolt on all motor car on drag radials. the gt500 before 2010 was really heavy inthe front and had traction problems. they are dyno kinds but not very good for street racing like the 5.0 is. i wouldnt mind either tho.
