@bkendlerA4 Thanks Tim. She's a cracking box of tricks and I'm lucky to have seen her again. Those 8 beats to each revolution are so "different" - love it. If it hadn't been so windy I might have grabbed a few more seconds of the sound. Chris
Excellent video Chris - very steady. I'm quite a fan of 850 - such a unique loco. Shame we have hardly seen her up here - would love to see her at fully cry on the S&C. I reckon I've not seen 80080 since 1993 either, when I was fortunate enough to be invited on the footplate for a warm up at Kirkby Stephen. Another lovely loco - shame I couldn't make the gala, but this makes up for it. Thanks, David.
@Linesider1 Thanks David - are you saving yourself for the Winter CMEs I wonder? Hope so. I had hoped to capture 850s unique exhaust but the wind didn't play ball. There are a couple of brief moments when you can compare the exhaust with 80080. I may be biased but think she's a very impressive, powerful looking loco and would also like to see out in anger. There was some talk a while ago once they were sure all the niggles were sorted but I'm not optimistic. Good to get a warm up in a cab. Chris
@robmasterman Thanks Bob. Yep - I sure did enjoy it. Have to grab these chances when they come - you never know whether you'll get another chance see these "foreigners". Chris
@siobhan104 Thanks Tim. To my eyes she's a very handsome and impressive looking loco. Quite a massive chunk of metal. And, as you know, has her crankls set at 137 degrees so you get 8 exhaust beats per revolution. Sadly the wind hear didn't allow me to record that very well. Chris
@dcg12b Thank you sir. The Standard Tank is certainly doing her share of the work when on the train and compares dramatically with Lord Nelsons softer exhaust. Wish the wind had been gentler as a lot of sound was blown away. Checked out your site (looking for a name) and was very impressed with your videos and stories. Chris
@khankadet Thank you, hope you liked them. I'm glad Lord Nelson has returned to the ELR. When she first came she double headed with Leander and they both looked stunning. I heard Nellie double headed with the Duke. Would of loved to have seen that!!
Some great footage from the ELR there Chris. Glad you got to see some Southern steam again.

@LMSStanier Thanks David. Good to see Lord Nelson again - shame the wind took so much of her unique exhaust sound away. Chris

Hiya Chris, 850 looks great. Always looks odd away from the Southern. Excellent film. A like from me. Barry

Lovely footage. The whistles of both the Standard 4 and Lord Nelson are music to my ears. Fantastic!!
