A great start. I hope he can scale it down enough to make it useful. Pedal power means respect for effort. Still, using a spading fork is a way more efficient form of pedal power on the farm, as walking is in a parade.

I had to use a bike for transportation all of last winter. Bikes suck. Only good for recreational exercise, nothing useful. When it snowed, forget it. I am surprised that more pedal powered machines do not exist in rural areas
