@fucu41 It was a very hard time for black people and a lot of the great black musicians of the time were subject to severe racism, Ray Charles being one of them, so he was right to point it out, it would have been wrong not to.

@IamEleanorRigby ray aswell as ella and nat..did nothing for the civil rights movement in the early days,probably because there were scared that they woudnt be allowed to play if they spoke up.ray finally stood up for anti-segregation audencies in memphis,he was the 1st performer to do so.
