I think that Elliot would make a better Garath Bryne or Lord Captain Commander Pedron Niall, Michael Cain as Thom Merrilin the Greyfox, because who would suspect him of being a spymaster, and he looks like he could spin a tale or two.
Yay, we picked the same Tylin! :D I always like seeing my choices agreed with.
Weisz would be wonderful as Moiraine if she weren't too tall.
I noticed a little fiddling with eye colour on your Ny choice (not saying it was you) as Katie McGrath has gorgeous green eyes.
Sam Elliott definitely looks the part, but I've had people get shirty with me when I suggested it because of his accent and that they didn't believe he could pull off Thom's sonorous tones even with coaching. What do you think?
The choice of Michael Caine for Noam is amazing. Noam is such a forelorn character and Michael Caine can do that like nobodies business. And the girl from Merlin is an interesting choice...
I thought Micheal Dorn (wharf from star trek) would be a better Lan. I figured they should use young no-names as we grow up with the characters. All I can say about the rest is WOW. You can interpret that how you choose.
I think everyone forgets, Aes Sedai will have to be played by much younger actresses. They live much longer than most people, and between the oaths and the handling of the one power, they do not show their age! Also after Siuan and Leane were stilled and healed, it apparently reset their age, at least as far as looks.
As awesome as a movie is... it's not going to happen until something about movie production changes. Directors will simply look at it and it's fanbase and go "Fuck no."
@DanceTheSpears I think you need to open up the field. A youing Paul Newman would make a great Matt Cauthon. And Clint Eastwood (as in Outlaw Josie Wales) would make a great Lan. I've alway liked a young Selma Hayek (with her Spanish temper) as Nynaeve)
@rbjohnson77 I think the only way I could ever actually enjoy WOT as a movie series would be if they didn't pepper the cast with the usual hollywood fluff. I mean, whoever directed it would need to have the same passion for it as Peter Jackson had for LOTR. Also, if Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa had ANYTHING to do with the film, I would walk out. Horrible actor. The same goes for Natalie Portman. yuck!
@rbjohnson7 I really like this idea!!! Could you imagine Steve McQueen as Sammael. Or Marlon Brando as he was in On the Waterfront. This could be great fun. Thanks for the suggestion
Most of these are GREAT! Sam Elliot as Tom is your best match up. However I strongly disagree with your choice for Mat. He doesn't look mischievous or a rouge/scoundrel at all. Mat is not a nerd, he's a trickster with a winning smile. Also some of your female cast are not age appropriate, I would rethink some of the older generation characters with older actresses. However most of these are 90% better then some other suggestion vids I've seen.
@xcom16 I know what you mean. I started having doubts about my choice for Matt as soon as I'd finished the video. He's a difficult character to nail down though. Thanks for the comments, keep 'em coming.
@stonedog6 I agree with xcom16 about your Mat (although just because he played a nerd, doesn't mean he is one). He looks way too innocent and still has baby fat going on - I couldn't see bar wenches swooning over him or men following him into battle. I know he's younger, but I think we should be flexible with ages just as in usual TV/film. As long as they can look the age, that people could find the actor believable as the character, I don't see a problem.
@instinctz1 With so many characters you're always going to miss a few. Halle Berry would fit the description of Alanna quite well. God, I'm going to have to do an extra character list for people I've missed! Bayle Domon, Egeanin, Olver, Talmanes, Padan Fain, Crap, there's just so many of them!!!!!!!!!
@AmylaineSedai She would be so good in the role. Thanks for the comment, feel free to praise or moan about any of my other choices on the other lists. :-)
not bad, but since Lan is one of my favs, I have to disagree with your choice. Your guy kinda has the look, but certainly not the height, or presence. Lan is about 6'5".
@AndrewCorvin Your right about the height but it's a bit difficult finding someone that height with the look you want. I just think that he's got the fantastic hard planes and angles to his face. Thanks for the comments, most appreciated.

yeah, moiraine is great. but why did you put her under matrim? just curious.
Lan is fine, i dont think its a problem that you made him asian, as some others appear to.
great choice for nynaeve!!! i kinda pictured someone like mila kunis, but i find her voice REALLY annoying, so i like your pick better than mine lol.
Sam Eliot as Thom is a no brainer :). a perfect fit!!
i didnt picture Juilin so muscley, more lean. kinda more akin to a matrim type character, only darker. and more like aged wood?
thewildg0d 1 month ago
Lan should be played by Liam Neeson at best.......he is NOT asian

I've seen a few of these and I've found that the best actor I've seen for Matrim would be James Franco, with that mischievous grin
