"for the rebirth of the ideals of zeon, for the sucess of operation stardust, SOLUMN! I HAVE NOW RETURNED!!!!!" still love this series, one of the first gundam series i bought as a complete series
@TheWarshire It next to the original gundam, Zeta gundam, and war in the pocket are in my opinion the greatest of the gundam line. I really enjoyed stardust memories, even if i did not really like how it ended but it showed that even three years after the traitors in their homeland surrendered and their fleet was routed. They still believed in the ideals Gihren set for his people, you have to respect that sort of conviction. "For the return to the glory of Zeon!" SEIG ZEON!!!
at least in these series the Gundams were within the distant realm of believe. and a Gundam in these series meant something, what the hell is up with the new series having 50 gundams?
This song is one of the main reasons I became interested in anime and ended up living in Japan. I had a copy of exactly this opening sequence downloaded from the fledgling Internet in 1996, in an ancient Quicktime format. But I had no idea what a anime it was from. All I knew is that it kicked ass and i looped it like a broken record.
I had all but forgotten about it until recently I heard it again by chance and I rediscovered my 'roots'. Thanks for posting this!
Haahahaha! Same here man! But I never fulfill my dream of move on to Japan.
In the same years ('93 and on) I were in university and thanks to optic fiber connection I was descovering that new thing "internet".
I think that the place where you found the clip was the Sunet FTP server, which still today contains the same old glorious file in .mov quicktime format. And by the way in those days .mov format was way more defined and clear than the same size .mpg .......
@hermi362 I had the exact same experience in 1997 with this exact song. I ended up trying to track down a bunch of other anime music. None of it I had any idea where it was from. Then I made a mix CD on a 2X CD burner that I listened to for 5 years before it cracked. Crazy. This song is great.
Shit gets real, especially after this opening.
Blows the first outta the water.

@wildbill0088 I agree a gundam is supposed to be a specialized suit. Not a normal mass produced cheap piece of garbage.
