I'm going to get an i5 2500k with 8 GB of 1600 ddr3, to even it out these days. And when the new GPU's come out, the Nvidia GTX 580's price will drop, so I'm going to get the EVGA 3GB Classified, factory overclocked one. I will also overclock the i5 with a Noctua d14 to about 4.5 GHZ. Then I will throw it on an Asrock z68 so upgrading later wont be a problem. Very good for gaming.
"You really don't want a cheap out on a motherboard, With that in mind i basically choose this because it was the least expensive" Do you listen to yourself guy
erm.. why WD green and not blue? Green saves energy, bad performance O_O
Blue probs be better.. + it's not SA-TA to correct u, you say it all at once.. and it's Core-Sair. (Sair is like "Hare" but with the s). Just trying to help, not offending :D.
Hey im building a computer and im pretty sure i have all the parts. The only thing i dont know a lot about is interface cards. Do i need to buy one of these in order to use my usb slots and all that or can i access those right off the mother board through my case?
Hey I was wondering if someone can help me. I am looking for a desktop mainly for gaming but i want it to be a max of $200-$250. Is that even possible, if so can you help me find the one I would need! Thank-you very much!!!!
i spent 700 on my build. the graphics card is the most expensive part of the cpu aside from the cpu. the higher the graphics card the more expensive. For a graphics card i have an ati radeon hd 5750 great graphics card. I would recommend ati great graphics card for the price.
do you need a dvd burner? and I want more than 3gb of ram and my computer will run windows 7 ultimate 64 bit but my question when starting it up do i run like an older version and than get the Windows 7 Ulti 64bit than put the rest of the ram in?
I am confused on how to go about doing that (sorry my explanation is a little confusing)
Hi, Just wondering if you could give me some advice, I'm looking at building or buying a gaming comp. One that will atleast be able to run the games that are out now, and the ones that might be coming out in the near future. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Depending on the components you choose to build your customized computer with is how you would go about buying your power supply. Also depends on what you will be using it for gaming, designing, etc. Just know regardless of power supply your computer will run. The power supply on this Dell Dimension I pulled apart a 2400 (older model) was running off of a very low watt supply. So again if you are just after a build and not so much a gaming pc then you can go cheap on the power supply.
Why did you go with an i7 if your not gaming, video editing, graphic design??? An i5 would have been more bang for the buck and give you enough performance. You could have used the money for a cpu cooler which would elongate the life of your cpu.
The GTX 260 is mainstream, the i7 920 is old and between mainstream and high end because its the slowest i7, 6GB ram is quickly becoming standard in today's PC and 650W non modular PSU is bullshit
It's really funny watching these people who actually knows nothing about building computers, trying to sound like they have been doing it for years and know everything about it :D

@SAM16MM your argument is not valid from my point of view for 2 reasons.
1) earphones.
2), i like my huge, noisy 90's case. it makes me feel powerful. like the soviets - behind with the times, not as technologically advanced as others, but massive and could still blow congress into the south atlantic.
Do you still have that rubber grommet (did I spell that right?) that the cpu was shipped with? I threw mine away and need to find one as I'm selling my cpu...or is it ok to ship without the rubber pad?
respect for taking the time to make this video, but naming off computer specs doesnt mean you know anything about them, in my opinion amd is just as good as intel except intel is more expensive ._. and a gtx 260? what for if your not pushing some serious gaming power? why not go with like a GT or at least something like 9800GTX but i guess it doesn't make a difference if you can afford the gtx 260

u DONT need to have over 500 watts of power to run ANY system on the market!!!! the components that needs the most wattage is the CPU(200watts unclocked) and GPU(in this case the gtx 260 can consume 225w at most)

You should really use a green hard drive for your main hard drive because most or all of them are under 7200 RPM's. I've seen most people use them for either a home server or a backup hard drive.

and that's a lot of power for a family computer.

You should really use a green hard drive for your main hard drive because most or all of them are under 7200 RPM's. I've seen most people use them for either a home server or a backup hard drive.

If are not going to do Gaming, Overclocking or Image/Video Editor. Why do you need Gtx260, 650w, i7 and X58.
Do you have fun throwing away money?!
I can't imagine how much those cost a year ago.

You dumbass! buying things that you don't need and you even dont know what they do. "This is the same cpu on those Mac Pro's so you know it's quality"
You don't even know why i7 is so special
