gordon murray made this car a legend, without his great expertise this car would have never been built... i think though that the engine has had its day but the body can go on and have new engine , i think it's time for a replacement, a full english high bread supercar
ok does no one know anything about f1? the sound of the sort of ripple effect as he braked. that is the gearbox making its switches down the gears, watch the talk bits before the race and you'd of known that.
Apparently you don't know much about F1. Read the comment of donprestigio. To tell u a bit more, the sounds occurred when exiting a corner.. no downshifting at that point. Look at say 2002 Montoya's onboard record lap in Monza and you will see how traction control sounds like.
actually i know a hell of alot. its the downshifts, aswell as traction control. i know a hell of alot more about racing than you do i race single seaters so i bloody know plus ive watched f1 since i was 4, ive been to f1 testing sessions and every car did that in 2007 its downshifting aswell as tracion control cutting in to stop the wheels from over spinning through the corners.when they did the ask blundell thing this was one of the questions and he said exactly what i have just said.
So either your a hick American that fucks his sister or your a Ferrari fan? Or you could be a fernando Alonso butt boy too? How is Lewis a nigger? And how is he dumb? Cause he kicks everyones ass pretty much all the time? People on here are really stupid sometimes and you just prove that fact you Nazi KKK fruitcake!
Well then your a NIGGER too, obviously! He seems pretty inteligent to me! Do you know what that word acctually means? Its an ignorant person, just like your sister, cousin fucking ass you stupid twit!
That sound has nothing to do with the car if you listern to the sound you can hear the the cars sound doesn't change at all and russ13b they would never cut spark cause the motor would basicly miss fire and you wouldn't want the to happen in a race car.
I said some systems, not all. There are a few ways to control traction; apply the brakes, reduce fuel supply, retard or suppress the spark, reduce throttle opening. For traction control to create a stuttered exhaust note, how is it anything other than ignition suppression? The other ways either wouldn't be heard or sound like a mild lift. You/they could of course cut fuel and spark.
That's a downshift then traction control. Some traction control systems cut the spark, avoiding excessive lean burn over race distance and giving quicker response to grip loss - at up to 4g, reaction time is important

The craziest TC sound was from the Jordans in 2005. It sounded very "digital": abrupt shifts in pitch. I would guess they were cutting out groups of cylinders at a time - 2,4,6,8,10 - to get a linear effect. Regardless, it sounded super cool - very Star Wars. You could distinctly tell you were hearing the Jordans off in the distance because of that...
(wishes there was a YouTube video of that sound...)
so thats what that sound is, i was in shanghai to watch the gp and i thought something was wrong with the mclarens because i didn't notice that low humming sound from the other cars.
That sound is definately Traction Control.. The reason it is so loud is, when the Traction System realises that the wheels are losing grip it limits the spark to the engine, and i think it even cuts it for very very short periods of time (ie. 1000th of a second)in an 'on again off again' stle.. the result is some fuel that has not ignited goes through and is combusted later in the extreme heat of the exhaust which makes a "bang"...
so what u are saying that its actually backfire or afterburning ( i thought backfire is that the feul explodes in the way to the ciliners, and afterburning if the fuel explodes in the exhaust.) that could be treu i havent thought of that :O
I understand what u mean...its the same thing when ur standing close to the end of a straight and u here the car go past then downshift rapidly followed by the 'boom boom boom' that is also fuel exploding after the cylinder.
looking at the place when the sound appeared at the outcome from a corner when he hit the throttle I think he tried to shift up but the gearbox was stuck for a second. they did had some trouble with the gearbox one day in Valencia.
i was in melbourne this year for the GP and traction control is the extremely loud, that IS traction control. Alonso uses more TC than most drivers. have u ever heard an f1 car in real life?
yes!!! i been to Spa-Franchorchamps in 2005 and im planning to go again this year, but i never heard traction reach that loud. do u know what traction does? it is demping the engine so it makes lower revs.
well u should know F1 cars make all sorts of sounds that tv doesnt pick up, doesnt mean he has a gearbox problem. on the corner we were at alonso made that noise on every single lap of the gp, qualifying and practice, i presume it IS TC because it makes the sound coming out of every corner.
it is TC, the Traction Control system will detect too much wheel spin, and cut fuel to the cylinder accordingly. the sound you hear is the unburnt fuel being burned off while the cylinder slows down to deliver the optimum power to the wheels
you all people are sad asses

correct me if im wrong but its pretty much the same thing large trucks use, "jack braking" basicly what scany1980 said they just cycle the cyclenders
DHdynamite 4 years ago
I read last night the same thing. The traction control actually cuts out individual cylinders to manage power to the wheels.
