This video does NOT say why medical transcription ....er, is difficult. It only says that there is little need for medical transcription in the Phillipines. It doesn't say why Meidical Transcription....er, is hard. The comment from cheshiremouse taught me more about medical transcription as a profession than the video!

He's reading too many notes written by some douchebag in the Phillipines that doesn't know about global economics. I personally know people in the MT business that make 50-60,000 a year. Now, I know that it's not there to make you rich, But at least a peroson can be comfortable in this "market". A care and understanding is essential. I have an AA in HCA. I love the work, but unfortunately, it is hard to come by. MT is not and it pays well.

MTs would never run out of clients since it is required by law for physicians to produce a medical record for each patient. It's just a matter of putting you and your skills out there.

I have transcribed for 15 years, I agree with him. Transcription sucks, unless you have to live out in the boondocks like I do (for family reasons) and it is one of the only things you can do to make money, otherwise, for god's sake, pick a different profession - IT IS A DEAD END JOB.

Mike Abundo, you suck! You do not know what you are talking about, you do not know how to think big. You don't have the gift of imagination. In the future most European countries will be passing the same kind of law like the HIPAA wherein the patient medical documentation would be a necessity. In the future the demand for more MTs will be there and it is a good source of income. I do not know who runs this program but I definitely think this Mike Abunda has no business sense.
