Cuase on wikipedia it says "The B777-300 is the first model to under go refit and will introduce the product on the Singapore - Sydney route first from July 22, 2009."

What good about EK is the list of movies they provide unlike SQ's, what good about SQ is their inflight service while EK sucks at it; their FAs are never seen onboard (always busy :( ) u'll only see them on meal times and when they're walking around with trays. SQ provides better seat configs than EK, in SQ's B777s they have a config of 3-3-3 while in EK is 3-4-3 which means they have less seat pitch making it uncomfo, and B777s are meant to have 3-3-3 configs

I believe they are succsesful! Let me tell you why. They have features in economy class that no other airline has! Footrests are extremly helpful on a long journey. Krisworld is also spectacular! No other airline rivals Krisworld. It makes other airlines jealous! Plus, the Singapore girl is amazing. So curteous and nice. Singapore Airlines is simply the best! Everyone knows that :)

hi haneulxangel, not all SIA aircraft is equipped like this, but their standard is certainly higher across all cabins compared to other airlines. They do have regional seats which are flown on routes within Asia and such. Are you flying SQ 15 from SFO to ICN? Interesting, I just took SQ 15/16 not long ago. And yes, you will get this version of economy class, since the aircraft operated is the new B777-300ER. Enjoy your flight, I know I did! :)

actually it is. i've been on SIA at least 40 times so far, and it's always been at the leading edge. it costs a bomb though, compared to other cheapies, but if i'm going on a holiday i think i'd spend this little bit more. it's really a good start/end to a holiday.

777-300ER the ticket is more expensive than usual cos wider footrest special IFE and products... I rather fly MH which is cheaper and better service...

The 777-300er surcharges are being dropped with the release of the a380. MH is just a cheap imitation of SQ, SIA service in staff is more consistent too. MH keeps rambling on about the skytrax awards every year for cabin staff, but overall SIA has won more cabin crew awards, just from different sources and companies.

umm this isnt really tru...umm i went from LAX to tokyo to singapore to hyderabad and it was pretty rugged and old but the service was great!!(the planes wer 777 and a 737)i think this seat is given only on the 18 hour flight from New York to Singapore...but it was still good

um, singapore airlines doesn't fly 737s. All their planes are newer than the industry average and the smallest aircraft they fly is the 777-200. This new seat is only on 777-300er aircraft, the executive economy class which was released a few years ago is similar to this and is only availible on the a340-500 which operates singapore-lax and singapore-new york nonstop.

of course however the extra cost does pay off as SQ have a 3-3-3 configuration as opposed to EK's 3-4-3 configuration which is just unbearable (below the international standard). While I've been flying with EK for several times, I finds out that the toilets are often leaking (even on the new B777-300ER) and one trip, water from the AC panel keeps on dripping and after compalining, they don't even bother to relocate or give me conpensation for it. very terrible service from EK as opposed with SQ.
